Huh, I never noticed either of those when I lived in Akron.

Just noticed on my calendar that May 5th is Free Comic Book Day for my fellow comic geeks. Depending on schedules I may duck out for a couple hours to take my sons.

Probably won't get started until about noonish Saturday anyway. No biggie.

I haven't either.

Avengers opens 5/4.

We might need to put a group together and go to this Saturday or Sunday.

What's Avengers?

There are a couple of things I have going on right now that may preclude attendance, but I'm keeping an open mind. I'll keep Pyro and Erik up to speed in case we want to carpool or caravan.

A new strip club, you wouldn't be interested

The new strip club that Toph513 is in.

Seriously. Well, serious about him being in it.

Yes! Avengers!!!111 Count me in for that.

Also. Erm. I don't know how big of a gathering we're talking about at this point. But traditionally I like to provide certain 'services' at gatherings like these.

Certain dice-related services, if you know what I mean.

*ahem*

Dice jobs?

I've been wanting to run a Hollowpoint one-shot for a while now. Any interest in it?

My plan for Avengers:

Ok, so Toph513 is an extra in the Avengers.

I want to get as many people as possible together to go see the movie Saturday or Sunday. Your task while watching that movie will be to find him. He will not be telling you what scene he's in, so watch closely. You will be asked to make a sign with his name on it to cheer and wave around when you think you see him.

After the movie, we shall apologize to the other movie goers.

Yes, I think this is hilarious.

To People who want to GM something this weekend:

I'll make a tab on the GDoc for you to post your game, system, and # of open seats for your game.

Once we know who wants to run what, we can plan when to start things.

Players: Please add your name under Player Sign-ups and please do not go over the limit the GM sets unless you speak with them first.

This. I recently purchased the first two Pathfinder books and the beginners box to flex my GM skills. Playing in a few test runs would help substantially in my quest to GM something for my friends, almost all newcomers, in Pittsburgh.

GMs, please try to keep your games under or around 3-4 hours. If you need help planning, speak up and there are a few of us that can help you with planning.

Have fun at MPC without me, Zenke!

I have a lot of Pathfinder experience if you need a hand. I don't have any games i can run in 3-4 hours, but I might by May.

I am late to the party!

I am most likely coming and if/when I do I will be booking a room.

I will not know 100 percent for a 2-3 weeks. A small chance Vegas trip might get extended into a Vegas/LA trip which would then encroach on that weekend.

Most likely I will be attending....drunk.

I think it's really only necessary to clarify that detail if you plan on being sober.

We are down for the Avengers. We haven't seen any movies since the baby came along... but we'll figure something out, or I'll just ditch the wife and kid for the movie

Maybe you could draft Mrs. Oily? Would be good practice.

My wife might be willing to help out as well. She owes me for her current knitting obsession.

My wife will be 7 months pregnant with twins at this point.

I sincerely doubt she'll be in any condition to watch children.

DOOD. j00 gotta come! Funtimes!

He'll be 8 months old then so my guess is that he maybe be a crawler and may not want to be held too much... So I agree that a 7 month prego might have a hard time chasing him around if he is awake. (Let alone just sitting/standing/living comfortably on her own)

Now if we went to the movie after his bed time then it is easy. He is sleeping from 7:30pm-8am most nights now. At worst he wakes up and you do what we do now, let him cry for ~10min if that doesn't work then restart his sleep music and lightly rock him in his crib for a min and leave, rinse and repeat. He usually goes back down on his own without too much intervention.

That being said he is ready and excited to play Quarriors! with you all.

Don't knitting obsessions pay for them selves with hats, blankets, etc.?

I don't want to get anyone too excited, but Life Coach and Ian are penciled in to attend.

mother of god.

It's like the one last October was some kind of horrible nightmare and now we're finally awake and going to attend a pencon.

Huzzah going to be awesome!
