*whistles*

I think ranalin really takes one for the team.

He has such bad luck with betas, that it is bound to give good luck to everyone else ;P

Of course, I have probably just totally jinxed myself for mmo betas for about 5 years...

Well, so far the girls actually look like girls and not a pounded down piece of clay. I might just have to check this out.

All the other Elder Scrolls required so much modification to make the character models not look freakish. Once you had 50 mods into the game, it was playable! Maybe the devs took a page from Nexus on how to make their own game more aesthetically pleasing.

Still am turned away from the MMO aspect of an incredible modders paradise, but time will tell.

Got an Above Average. Hurray, living on an island sucks for this

Neat cinematic to go along with the beta announcement by the way, that's some mighty impressive CG Bethesda!

It is from Blur Studios, apparently.

Man, I wish there were movies that looked that good!

Ooooh I got an "excellent". Here's hoping! (Crosses fingers)

Hm. Could have been a bit more badass.

Lots of motion capturing in there. I could watch a movie made that way!

Glad im not the only one who put down Gamerswithjobs as a guild site.

Someone here knows Michael Zenke ? throw in a good word for us Gamerwithjobs guys and gals please.

As for the Trailer- Twas a grizzled Nord with dark elves down below while high elves defended an outpost from ...?? the climbing attackers looked like elves too, but the archer with the Legolas moves was a breton I assume.
the Magic CG was really impressive.

*cough cough* takeacloserlookatthestartofthisthread *cough*

that's why i said that. I dont know the man personally so wasnt going to bother the poor guy with a strange " hey, hope the gamerswithjobs crowd get a good look in with the beta, Yorushiku" from a stranger. Might be better coming from someone he actually knows.

I hate cinematic trailers; they tell me nothing about the game.

That said, I find myself more and more intrigued and (dare I say) excited at the prospect of getting to experience the Elder Scrolls universe cooperatively. If my brother and I can pry ourselves away from Lord of the Rings Online, this may be worth it.

Yeah, I know! I was listening to one of the older podcasts when he came on as a guest star and said he was going to work to ZeniMax for a "mystery" MMO. Please, please, pleeeease put in a good word for us. Pretty please with a cherry on top?
Yeah, I too put GWJ as a guild name. At this point, it's pretty much a given that when I play this, GWJ will be there, right?

I think it is a given that Mr. Zenke will do what he can. Does that mean we all get in from the start? I'm sure not.

Of course if he can't do anything, he is totally banned from the site! er, did I say that out loud? ;P

I got an "Excellent." I suspect that's just an indicator for how much of the form you've filled out though.

I did find it interesting that they asked for either a dxdiag file or an OS X system profile. I wonder if they're planning a cross-platform client, though I suppose it could just be that somebody realized that they could get all the hardware info they needed without forcing the Mac users to reboot.

I ticked everything and got an average.

I guess I get in when it's "beta-demo" time and they let anyone and everyone who showed an interest.

This is actually quite common for beta sign ups.

They use these to pin point hardware settings they're interested in.

Gotta remember to do this tonight.

I'm just hoping my pretty crappy rig won't be a negative on my application... =/ Seriously, when I posted my dxdiag, I was downright ashamed of it!!

Actually i suspect that people with old rigs get in more often than others so they can make sure things work right at the low end. I used to get into almost every beta ever, but after i've been able to upgrade and keep my rig at the mid to high end levels i've barely made into one.

Oh I've submitted several dxdiag files to other MMO beta applications. The bit that surprised me was the OS X System Profile being an acceptable substitute. I mean, I know it's all the same data, but it's weird to see the Mac platform mentioned like that. Especially since I've never heard anything about anything Elder Scrolls ever hitting the platform.

They have said in the beta faq they are planning a mac client and beta.

I have come to the conclusion that you do have better chances at getting in to a lot of betas if you have a low-mid range computer. Like something that is 10-25% above the minimum specs because I feel that is the real minimum for an acceptable experience. In most games, sure you can get it running with the bare minimum spec but in many cases you wouldn't want to.

You know, I'm tempted to sign up for the beta to see what the game is like, but I think that would be a disservice to those who actually want to play extensively enough and actually, you know, test it.

I'll wait and give it a whirl around release time.

I saw the gameplay video on their site and it looks kind of like Oblivion, bit modded.

The combat they explain is a regular skyrim right click block, left click attack system. Not sure if they can make it interesting for group combat. It certainly looks ambitious though. Depends heavily on if they go with a monthly fee system.

Signed up and looking forward to continuing my Elder Scrolls obsession!

Just saw this and read a little bit about the factions and proposed gameplay. Anyone else get a Dark Age of Camelot feel? Daoc was for me the best MMO game I have played. From Launch in 2001 till when I stopped playing 8 or 9 years later the RvR or PvP was just so much fun. If this game can capture any part of the open world PvP feel Daoc had with the roaming around, small/large scale skirmishes or the sieges then this game could be very fun.

I doubt it's a coincidence since the studio lead for ESO was one of the designers for DAoC.
