The Elder Scrolls Online Catch-All

A mount and FIVE crates (and there was much rejoicing)

Here's the link: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/e...

I might give this a shot. So if I buy the Elsweyr standard edition, can I level up my new necro in any of the expansion pack areas? Elsweyr, Morrowind, Summerset? Or do I need to go to the base game areas?

Also, you guys recommend getting a sub as well?

Whenever they release a new paid expansion that location becomes the new default starting area for all new characters. You can portal to any of the other expansion locations or the faction capitals in the base game, but you’ll start out in Elsweyr.

yes and yes. Whenever i play i sub for the duration.

+1 on the sub, particularly if you plan on doing any crafting. The Crafting Bag is essential. The ability to play all of the DLC zones is great as well. The monthly allotment of crowns is nice for picking up stuff along the way, whether it's simply cosmetic or (IMO) essential, such as the banker and/or merchant.

The Crafting Bag is the only reason I think most people sub.

Thanks guys. I installed it, just wondering if I should pull the trigger on Elsewyr and a sub.

Personally I would get a hang of the regular areas and see if the game is for you. Elswyr is really good though and highly recommend picking it up.

I wanted to play a necromancer... Still debating.

Noob question. I keep hearing Stam or Magicka based class. I started a Stam Necromancer. I just noticed that the spells still cost magicka. Does this change to stamina down the line? Only level 3, so still very new.

The resource pool for spells and skills don’t change. I’m not familiar with the necro class myself, but like stamina-based sorcerers, I’m assuming a stam necro relies mostly on weapon skills with only minor use of their class spells/skills.

EDIT: actually, it looks like many of the skills from the Grave Lord class tree cost stamina rather than magicka, so focus on that tree and mix in some non-staff weapon skills.

All classes have a few spells that never change their resource and if you use rely on them you have to change your stats to reflect that. That said most spells when they're able to be forked/morphed(level 4) has a magicka or stamina version.

I think the Living Death tree for the Necro which focuses on healing is primarily magicka.

Hah! My bad. I’ve had the same character for about five years now so it’s been a while since I’ve had to morph a skill.

Ok cool. Thanks guys! So confusing for a new player. I only played a few hours when this was first released 5 years ago. Which is nuts!

Balthezor, are you on PC? If so, add me in Steam and I would be happy to guide you around a bit. I have a low level Necro can work on. That goes for any PC players, actually

Yes I am. What is your ID there?

With the industry as a whole moving toward cross-play and cross-progression, any sign of this game getting those features? I'd love for my character to not be chained to the PS4 anymore.

Nope

Does GWJ have a guild? Noob friendly. Maybe I can beg for some starter weapons and that armor set that gives extra xp.

We do, but not really active. You can also be part of 5 guilds at a time. If not tonight I'll be on tomorrow to send an invite.

Same as here, Abu5217. We are already Steam friends. I should be on later today (after 5pm EST) so I will add you. I have a midlevel crafter, I may be able to make you some weapons and training gear.

Nice! Thank you!

Added you Abu. My ID is Balthezor

Could it be anything else? When I enter just Balthezor, I see @Althulas. If I enter @Balthezor, I get a ton of options.

also, I don't see a request from you (in game).

General rule of thumb, the weapon classes start stamina based but can switch to magic based morphs of those skills as you progress, the casting classes start magic based but can switch to stamina based morphs as they progress. As there's no cooldowns on abilities, balancing these resources to fit your style of combat is pretty much the core of everything. Champion points in your later game will help a ton with that as they can significantly boost the regen rates, gear tends to help with pool sizes, as do the short duration buffs you can get from both abilities and item sets.

Re: Clock's question, I'd love to have an answer for you. Internally our realms are platform agnostic, so we play on all platforms on the same servers; but customer facing realms we're still limited by first party demands.

Just added you. I forgot the @

My ID says: @Balthezor

Does the mount for Elsweyr only for one character? On the screen with my characters, I see one with it.

Mount unlocks are account wide.

Balthezor, sorry, I missed your message. Hope dinner was good!

No problem Abu, Ranalin helped me out.

Noob question, if I create a new char, it automatically takes me to Elsweyr. How can I start my new character in Morrowind or Summerset?
