If Zak McCracken shows up, it's a must buy for me. I never actually finished it. I cheated and won the lottery too often, and they banned me from playing, and since I wasn't sure what the next step was, I wound up spending all my money flying from one place to another and back.
I did find the gas can, though.

In Europe the sale price for both packs is 7.5 euro. At last the Americans got the exchange rate shaft!
Nice, but I picked up those packs in disc form not long ago anyway (along with the Police Quest games). I think the only Sierra adventure games I'm missing now are the Larry games - lewdness aside would they be worth a look if they show up on Steam?
Added Steam links to the new LucasArts games that were released today. Hoping for more in the future (c'mon, Zak McCracken!).
Another vote for Zak McC here - probably the first adventure game I played I think.
There was actually a fan-made sequel released online for free a while back which looked pretty good, but I think it was only ever released in German...
Ah here we go...

Looks like they're working on an English version as well. Nice.
No Quest for Glory, though? Dysplastic will not be pleased!
Infidels!
Probably because Vivendi didn't rerelease the QFG series pre-packaged with DosBox for XP compatability like they did KQ and SQ in 2006 - which is what they just ported onto Steam.
I bought KQ and SQ, despite my hatred of Activision, because I'm hoping if these packages do well enough, more of Sierra's library will be released onto steam and at least given some kind of system to make it playable.
Along these lines - My first adventure game was King's Quest 6, in 1992 or 93, and I spent far too long playing that game. Last night, with about 20 games I currently have that I could have played, I decided to fire up KQ6 for the first time in 15-odd years and give it another whirl.
I tore through it. I remembered everything, even to the point of remembering how to get 231/231 points.
I just couldn't believe how all these specific memories from ages ago came flooding back to me with pinpoint accuracy - stuff I haven't thought of in years.
It basically reminded me how much adventure games affected me as a kid and shaped the gamer I am today.

On most other websites you'd be labeled a nutjob for those seemingly nonsensical words. Here, its pretty normal.
Here are a few new trailers that look pretty interesting...
Black Mirror II
Memento Mori
Machinarium
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth
Heavy RainAnd a neat preview of Haunted. Lots of cool stuff coming up!
Machinarium is a must-buy for me. I have no idea if the puzzles are any good, but it's absolutely gorgeous.
I'm really interested to see how Heavy Rain turns out. I loved Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy despite its considerable flaws (I'm not sure what exactly I liked about it so much, but I enjoyed it immensely) and I'd be willing to suffer through quick time events to play something new like that. Boo on PS3 exclusivity, though!
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Nikopol : secrets of the Immortals. It's a Gorgeous looking well designed game based on the same comic that inspired Immortel ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0314063/ ). Even ign liked it http://pc.ign.com/articles/911/91102... ) and you can pick it up on steam for $20.
Is Gametap the best place to be able to play the Last Express? This game has come up too often in my little world and while I'm not a huge adventure game fan, I'd like to experience the game.

Someone wants to play it! Finally!

Only $9 too, a steal at that price.

Whoa, I totally missed that post yesterday. The Universe is trying to tell me something.

Or you could just watch the videos of it.
Nice find! Just what I need - more games to try to find time to play.
The Shivah, possibly Dave Gilbert's best adventure game, is free today for Yom Kippur.

Heads-up, Machinarium can now be pre-purchased on Steam.
Sanitarium is up on GOG.
This was seriously one of my favorite games ever when it came out. Before Silent Hill, this was my introduction to games that scared you not by making you jump but by putting you through a surrealistic psychological mindf*ck.
It wasn't a super high-budget deal, the protaganist in particular is really poorly voiced and the CG is kind of laughable by today's standards, but man was this ever a great game.

I SAW THIS IN AN EMAIL ON MY PHONE AND ALMOST POOPED MYSELF
