Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

I need some peeps to join mine as well. I think I am a little bit before you, Trashie.

Spoiler:

I just defended the downed cargo plane, and raided the refugee camp. Last scene I watched was Sarge listening to Bob Marley.

We're at the same spot. I'll try to catch you tonight. Probably around 8:30 or 9 PM CST.

I'll try to hop on as well.

Cool - probably about 915 is the earliest I can commit to, unless the toddler is exhausted and falls asleep early.

*Edit*

I am playing on Guerilla as well.

Annoyingly, progress earned in the co-op modes doesn't appear to carrying over to your single-player campaign. I had to replay through Nimble Harvest (or whatever) again last night after our hard fought victory over Diamond Formation.

And since I'm only playing on Veteren, it was pretty easy by comparison.

Apparently it saves your stats/challenges, but not your progress. So you will still get credit for completing the level on Elite, even if your save doesn't show you having progressed through the lvl.

Really a stupid way of doing the save, IMO. If people play the game together, their saves should reflect that.

Well that sucks.

Anyone down for some co-op tonight around 9 central?

I'd rather wade into the competitive gaming weeds. I wasn't too thrilled with our co-op experience the other night, diamond formation or no diamond formation. Or perhaps a couple of rounds of Guerilla (starting at Wave 10)?

Yah, scripted cutscene battles are cool to watch, but frustrating to have to replay 20 times.

PC version comes out tomorrow. I really hope it holds up.

Certis, I'm counting on you ... or something as there is little to no talk about the pc version here.

Don't hold your breath, I'll be traveling for a while so I wasn't planning to pick it up right away.

I pre-ordered so I'll be able to give impressions later tonight if anyone wants them.

PC version hasn't unlocked on Steam yet.

OK sadly this is a port and not a good one.

There's 2 day one patches that seems to be needed unfortunately if you bought off Steam they dont work and so far no update from Steam.

I'm not able to do any kind of multiplayer without disconnecting after a couple minutes.

Sounds about like the 360 launch, hah.

I sold this. Just not my thing.

I've only tried singleplayer on the PC version, and it seems pretty competent in that portion of the game. Sad to hear about the multiplayer though.

I crashed on the single player too.

Still no 1.2 patch for Steam players yet, but i did find the following ports that would let me play a bit longer without disconnecting. Went from every 2-3 min to 20-30.

GRFS Ports:
TCP: 80, 1001, 1002, 2346
UDP:10007, 15765, 24340, 24360

I love the game and the maps when i'm able to actually play. If you havent yet and are wondering i'd either buy from somewhere besides Steam or wait till Steam gets their update.

Oh unfortunately have one other complaint. Some of the menus are only usable by using the arrow keys on the keyboard and not the mouse

Eh? No, no. I had the 360 version and didn't like it so I sold it. I can't run modern shooters on this old laptop

It is shame the game is having trouble. I like the GRAW formula. I always thought they struck a nice balance between twitch and simulation. I liked their middle of the road approach. The toys are cool too.

I haven't even taken my copy out of the plastic yet. Finding out the lack of features from previous games put a damper on my enthusiasm fast.

FWIW, my experience so far has been flawless. And after hearing ranalin's multiplayer troubles I was expecting the worst, but even that worked without crashing. So, here's to some salt over my shoulder and hope I don't jinx myself.

OK, this game is looking pretty sweet.

Just picked this up. It looks like fun. Is there a GWJ squad I can join for challenges?

PC or console? There's a couple of us playing on 360 but it's pretty irregular.

PC. I guess that's a darn for me then. But the game is still fun.

I started playing this over the weekend and am about to trade it in due to bugs (360). On Monday I was attempting to continue my campaign but the screen would just go black when the cutscene was supposed to load. I would press a button (it was start or B) to skip the blank cutscene which would push me to the gear selection screen but with no sound. After following a bunch of tips from forum threads I found with others that had / have the same problem I was able to get it to load only for the character to loose the ability to move and HUD disappear 1/2 way through the mission. At that point I just gave up because I had other things to do anyways. I'm used to the GR games being slightly rough around the edges but this just felt like an unfinished product to me. I ran into 3 huge bugs within one hour.

Edited: for clarity

Wow. I've not encountered anything like any of that on the 360 version.

Jekl and I were trying to do some co-op and I had the same bug happen, but even with skipping - i could never get the mission to load.
