Hero Academy Catch-All

I'm starting to love the Council, which I used to hate. A fully upgraded archer is heaven.

I'm finding this as well. I used to load up defenses on the knights and glass-cannon the archer/mage, but that seems to not work as well as I expected.

The buffed archer is the highest damage dealing attack in the game (I believe), but be wary, they become a priority one target for your enemies, or at least those that know how much to fear 'em.

I thought a buffed Ninja melee attack still puts out more damage.

Correct, when the ninja is attacking in melee, or the Wraith has had it's fill of bodies.

Archer has the best damage at range for a normal unit (3 range, vs. the Impaler and Gunner at range 2)

I love this game. Promise me we'll never stop playing it?

I'm definitely still loving it. Summoner Wars is taking a lot of my time though.

I keep struggling through the tutorial, it hasn't clicked yet. Might need to try SummerMatt's video tute instead in that thread

It took a few games for everything to click for me. The deck that comes for free isn't a very fun deck either so that's kind of crappy.

Oh don't worry, I've already bought the full version

I think i'm finally getting into the groove of this game, and really enjoying it! Though I am still terrible.

Thanks everyone for your patience with my slow turns. I am on vacation so stealing moments of wireless can be bait hit or miss.

And of course anyone else please friend up n3croyeti if you want some dark elves to trounce on.

More details of the TF2 team with screenshots of PC version of Hero Academy: http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/18/he...

Spy – A cloaked unit who cannot be targeted at range. The Spy deals massive damage when attacking an enemy from behind.
Scout – A fast-moving recon hero; Players gain an AP when deploying the Scout. The Scout automatically hops backwards when hit by an opponent.
Sniper – The Sniper can target enemies anywhere in his row. At the end of your turn, the Sniper crouches. If he remains unscathed until your next turn, the Sniper gains increased power on his next shot.
Medic – The Medic heals and revives allies; He can link to a full-health ally to increase their power.
Engineer – A defensive hero with a basic ranged attack. The Engineer can upgrade allies' weapons.
Heavy – The Heavy does AOE attack at range. Every successive attack deals more damage as his minigun spins up.
Pyro - He does full damage to two enemies in a row; The Pyro's attack can hit cloaked Spies.
Demoman – The Demoman lobs grenades that do AOE damage. He does bonus damage when attacking crystals.
Soldier – The Soldier is a ranged hero. He uses powerful rockets to knock enemy units back.

As the article mentions, I'm guessing the hook for that team is the lack of consumables. Engineer, Medic and Heavy all sound like they have a secondary purpose that mimics some of the spells/gear.

Yeah, sounds like a great team. I hope they're fun in play!

Sorry about the delays in moves, for those I'm in a game with. I should have free time tomorrow to send a turn for all my games. Also, I don't plan rematching, or accepting them, once my current games are done. I've been lazy with the game, and I think it's due more to the fact I have around 10 games going, than a disinterest in the game. So, after all my games are done, I'll start rematches again in groups. I'll invite 3-5 people, and once those games are done, include others I haven't played with in a while. This'll be the way I play until the PC version comes out, where I could potentially devote more time to it.

I've been playing Outwitters on the side and I wish Hero Academy can rip off their ranking system (Like Starcaft leagues). Right now it's just laughable.

But I still think Hero Academy is the better game.

Also make sure you get Hero Tracker: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hero-...

The only thing Outwitters needs to do is add a rematch button when your friendlies finish... Massive oversight. That, or make your friend invite list smart enough to recognize who has the damned game.

The Steam version is coming out later this week. I'm curious if the "app" itself will cost or app is free but TF2 team costs. Robot has been very vague about this for some strange reason.

At any cause I'll buy it whatever their pricing model is because I love this game so much. I'm just a little curious.

I've been wondering the same thing, It would be nice to get some clarification.

We will this Wednesday when it's out.

I am buying the Steam version, as well. If only just to get the TF2 team.

Definitely, and to have all the unlocked/purchased characters on the 'big screen' should be nice too.

Quick question. If the games are 'from the cloud', would we also be getting the TF2 characters on iOS, or will those games be locked out of that system?

I heard Robot say that once you buy them on steam (or however they are doing it), you can play them on the iOS version. If you didn't get them, you can still play aganist other players who own them on the iOS.

Oh geez, my notifications stopped working for some reason. I was wondering why it looked like no one had played their turn in 4 days!

Yay! It wasn't just me then.

I spent a while catching up last night too

Hero Academy update today gives challenges with the new TF2 team.

Thus far, they're really interesting. Really interesting

I was hoping that meant the Steam version went live, but no dice. Oh well. I'll try to have patience.

What is live is the new tf2 map with the trains. Really cool map.

I can not wait until I can use the TF2 team. They are super interesting. It seems like the disadvantage will be they will not have a "hero" unit. But their team power is going to be huge, stepping on corpses negates using a turn point. Crazy.

Yeah I wish they would tell us a price or anything about it but I am really excited for it.

Relentless action seems to be the team bonus. Stomping enemies gives an AP.

Interesting read in the web guide for the TF2 characters
