Giant Bomb Bomb-All

Have they moved the night shows to a different podcast feed? First time they haven’t shown up for me, and I don’t have time to watch the videos anymore.

I don't know that they have podcast versions this year, they're certainly not in the premium feeds I subscribe to.

As a kinda sh*tty workaround, if you have premium and the Giant Bomb Video Buddy you can download the individual segments once they're posted the next day.

For the first day that's:

It'll crap on your battery life but if they're downloaded you can just listen without looking at the screen. Again, not ideal.

Eh, the money for premium went away when the baby came so I can’t do that. I guess I’ll try to watch in bits and pieces on YouTube.

FYI the first night just appeared in my podcast feed

Yep just showed up for me too (on itunes).

Advanced at the top but no mention of the superior Advanced 2? Wow.

Advance belongs below Tactics.

Laws were the absolute worst addition to that series.

Ranking of Tactics:
FFT
Tactics Ogre
Ogre Battle
Disgaea [muted, dood!]
That weird Ghost Recon game that released at 3DS launch
Front Mission
other games probably
FFT:A / A2

FFTA2 is better because of the lack of laws. It's really hard to make a single game suck because of one sole mechanic, but boy do those judge laws really pull it off.

"No physical damage allowed this battle!"

Yo, f*ck off.

You can always tell when Jeff is excited about a game or angry about something because there is a filter in his head that malfunctions and he uses the "f" word constantly. In describing playing the Doom Eternal demo he uses the term "f*cking" every 4th word. No real point I'm making, just a funny observation after fifteen years listening to him.

This is backed by actual science: someone that's cursing is almost always telling you the exact truth as they see it. Apparently, when the filters on profanity disengage, you're getting a much closer look at what someone really thinks than you otherwise would be. People that are swearing, either at you or at someone else, are almost never being deceptive.

I've often wondered, since learning that, if that's not a lot of why profanity is considered unprofessional behavior.

In that case, any f*ckin list that has Dan and Rorie last gets a Like.

FFTA > FFT

It's in the name folks, it's advanced.

You misspelled Shining Force II like nine times.

Oh damn, you're 100% correct.
Shining Force II is SSS Tier for sure.

I am ashamed for forgetting to list it.

The E3 @Nite segments are not premium content. They are streaming on YouTube, and later splitting them into segments.

Yeah, I was suggesting Premium up above because you have to be premium to download videos. So if you wanted to listen to them offline before the podcast feed went up...

Daaaamn, I want someone to just randomly give me a John Wick coin!

Dr. Dave Dang, DDS

Entertaining as the traditional BVD ending segment could be, I much prefer this lineup.

Giant Bomb is professional wrestling now.

I came to ask if anyone was able to get the E3 night shows on their podcast feeds, but it sounds like they didn’t post anything but night 1.

Which is a bummer because I have an hour plus commute, and the extra content is nice.

It's on YT. Maybe stream those to your car speakers?

Will this make any more sense once I have seen the entirety of that evening's segments, or is this some wrestling thing that I will still not understand having seen the whole segment?

What? The podcast feed had night 2 on there right now. Night 3 will likely publish today.

The latter.

Wrestling thing. The first guy is Austin Creed/Watson/Xavier Woods, a WWE wrestler and gaming youtube personality. He's been on quite a few Giant Bomb at Nite segments. He's a long-time Giant Bomb fan. The guy behind the couch is Kenny Omega and he's another wrestler but for a competing company. He's also a huge gamer and has done a few things with Giant Bomb. Austin/Xavier and Kenny have done a few things together around games.

I was similarly lost, but was also relieved they weren't announcing another departure.

I just want Austin and Kenny to play street fighter against each other again.

The wife kindly purchased a year subscription of GB for me for Father's Day. I'd let it lapse over the last year since we had so much going on. Any recommendations for premium content I may have missed over the last 1-1.5 years?

Mass Alex

I'll second Mass Alex, although you are pretty safe skipping the "cleanup" episodes, where he goes around and does side quests / DLC stuff. They're pretty boring.

And for ME2, I tried to get him to install a mod that insta-wins the minigames and fully scans a planet with a single probe - Vinny even suggested it to him, but he didn't want to, so be prepared in ME2, because Alex, for some perverse, unknown reason, enjoys planet scanning.

It's a relatively new series, episodes are still coming out, but I would recommend the Giant Bomb Crime Crew, where Vinny, Alex, Dan, and Abby all team up in GTA5 to pull off the GTA Online heists. I am one of those people who really isn't into the GTA games anymore, but this is just fun to watch for the group working together. Lots of funny moments, and we've only got 4 episodes so far.

Also, it ended in 2018, so that may still be within your year of absence, but 13 Deadly Sims, where Abby creates 13 Giant Bomb staff members in The Sims 4, and must get them killed using methods drawn from a hat, is really entertaining.

I don't remember if Abby's Sims thing was that recent, but that was golden.

Thanks, all. That seems like a good list. I never did play Mass Effect, maybe watching this will suffice
