Giant Bomb Bomb-All

But I'm equal opportunity. The constant talk about PUBG, another game I'll never get into myself, is getting pretty damn old too.

Play better games. Or stop listening to things about better games. Or stop complaining about them. You have many options.

I dunno, Bloodborne and Nier: Automata are pretty goddamn good. But Bloodborne's old, and Nier landed super well with Alex, because he's got great taste, but hasn't seemed to go over with the west coast crew, probably because Dave Lang wasn't involved or something.

Ben has played through most of it (if not all) and is encouraging Jeff to continue on through at least the second playthrough.

Yeah, but that's pretty much all they've said. They've talked a lot more about Horizon this year than Nier, when they basically said this week that Horizon wound up being pretty forgettable.

Complaining: it's what the internet is for!

I get that I can still hear him over at Waypoint, but I still miss him going toe to toe with all the lazy attitudes of the Giant Bomb crew. He was the one person that I could count on to say exactly what I would be thinking.

Oh god yes. Patrick putting the vacant, dismissive opinions of Ryan and Jeff under fire used to be my favourite moments of the podcasts and live shows.

Actually that gives me a good reason to check out waypoint, I liked both Austin and Patrick on the GB stuff they did so why wouldn't I like the stuff they do together?

Really I didn't want to start a 'stop complaining' thing, just wanted to give me take on how I consume podcasts(and media in general) and just give the suggestion that if it's really bothering you then take a break. You opinions are all 100% valid and I personally believe that you shouldn't partake in something that causing ill feelings and bad moods. Then you won't have that rift when you come in here to complain about it with the people that are still quite enjoying the content and don't see the need for it to change.

Edit: Re-reading it sounds like I'm trying to tell you to stop coming in here to complain. I'm not! Do whatever you want it's a free internet...for now....

I am telling you to stop coming in here to complain.

Stop coming in here and telling people to stop coming here and complaining.

Can we get back to talking about the awesomeness of Jeremiah? Here, listen to this and we'll all feel better:

I hate Jeremiah so much. I want less Jeremiah on the podcast.

I thought this thread was about video game deals.

I saw Walmart has Darksider 2 for 4 gronks. Is that game any good? I hear it's the dark souls of zelda games.

Let's all agree that Jeff is a great captain:

Captain Jeff

Aaaaand, go. Let's go to space!

You're right Brad, you should have hired Ben's mom instead.

I've had some old UPFs running on my TV while doing other stuff, and it's thrown into stark relief how much Ryckert has changed since he started. They all have, obviously, but for Dan it's especially striking.

I actually like the current incarnation, so that's probably the biggest change.

I figured this thread needed more Dan talk.

The current incarnation gave a full-throated endorsement and defense of Wal-Mart on this week's Beastcast, so, yanno.

I thought Abby was gonna come out of the mixing booth brandishing a chair.

Exactly, now you know how little I liked younger Dan. Dude went beyond frustrating and ignorant into something resembling actually loathsome.

Last email of the latest Bombcast, as an Australian, ohhhhh noooooooooooo... XD Oh god Ben your accent is so baddddddddd. (And a couple in there I dunno what the emailer was talking about).

I'm surprised and saddened that "dinky" wasn't used. As far as I can tell, it's uniquely Australian.

Vinny convincing Dan random bs is true may be my favorite thing.

It's been a long time since I laughed at a GB podcast as I did during that segment. Comedy gold.

Well it finally happened. Living in the bay area I figured it was only inevitable I would run in to one of them, but I saw Ben walking outside a pinball expo today. I called out "Hi Ben!" and he just looked at me with a puzzled expression until I said, "I'm a big fan of Giant Bomb" to which he smiled, nodded, and continued on his way.

My wife was similarly puzzled as to how I knew him. Its so funny to live in this world of internet media where people are really popular while simultaneously not actually being that popular. You guys were literally the only people I could think of who would have any appreciation for it.

Could you use that in a sentence?

Can you dinky me to the supermarket?

When I lived in Japan one of my coworkers was Australian. He used to say it knowing that none of the rest of us (Canadian, American, British, and Swedish) knew what it meant.

That must be a specific regional one, because I've never heard it. I might use dinky as in small, e.g. "I have a dinky little food processor I got for cheap". There's also dinky di, old slang meaning A-OK/the real deal, I don't think anyone except maybe old people way out in the country use that one earnestly.

My buddy does come from a farming family but google did confirm its use. I'm not sure where in Oz he's from, though.

Ah ok I asked a friend and he cleared it up. Dink, meaning take someone along on the handlebars on a bike. Maybe in some places it's dinky. It's not something I've ever done, and it's a super dangerous thing that probaby only kids talk about.

The butchering of the Birthday Paradox on this weeks beastcast is killing me.

I know it's not Giant Bomb but I'm listening to Waypoint Radio (only one to two degrees removed!) and finding myself very annoyed by Danica's verbal tick of repeating one word per sentence of whatever someone's saying when she's excited.

Honestly, it's stuff like that which really get my goat, more than the general attitude of people on any given podcast.

Rorie's weirdo pronunciation of "ridiculous" (as "ridickliss") is...weird. But Alex putting a needless "d" in aesthetics (dude says "aesdeadics") really grinds me every GOTY time.
