Giant Bomb Bomb-All

There hasn't been a GiantBomb personality that I haven't liked. Even Dan grew on me. Give people a chance and they'll fit in eventually.

Now that you mention it, Dan IS like a piece of gum that worked its way into the grooves on the sole of a shoe and then hardened there. Good point!

That Trackmania QL was great. Ben and Jeff play off each other alarmingly well. It's like a taller, younger him.

all hail mustache lord.

Abby is probably nervous as sh*t. I would be too. Remember, SHE'S NEW TO THIS. Jeff wanted newbies to the industry to give fresh faces a chance. I think she's doing fine. Also, I like her hair.

The last part is not really linked to rest of that statement.

Ben's fine too. I do feel like he's trying a little too hard, but I'm sure he's nervous too. Not as much as Abby (he was around during Whiskey Media, after all), but... yeah. Give them a chance. Brad used to annoy the hell out of me because he had no personality and stared dumb-faced at the camera.

Gotta let them get their groove man.

Brad has a personality now? I want whoever gave him one found and defenestrated post-haste.

(I like Brad. Even when he Dotas.)

Funny, I've found Ben the opposite of nervous. He's thrown shade a few times, and I've had to remind myself he's not actually the new guy, they've actually known him for a while.

Abby has a quiet wit that's great, and her hair is, indeed, the exact opposite of that mustache.

Abby straightened her hair.

I like both of them quite a bit.

Listening to this week's Beastcast. Abby has the best laugh ever. It's amazing how much she adds to the quality and variety of the audio.

I have a hard time believing Abby doubter can still exist after the Ryckert Bracket this week (incidentally, also a refreshingly funny Ryckert-heavy segment. I think Vinnie reins him in more, very much for the better).

Also, I feel like people that generally loved Drew in his later years are now criticizing Abby for being exactly like Drew was in his early podcast appearances. Maybe, just maybe she should get the same consideration and time he was allowed to find his footing and get comfortable podcasting.

I feel like it's this. Abby was thrown into an environment with 4 dudes who are 100% comfortable both talking into microphones and/or at cameras, making themselves the centre of attention, and who already have a rapport with each other.

Additionally, they all play tons of video games, including all the typical mainstream titles that are more typical "white dude" games, for lack of a better word, because that is their job, basically. Meanwhile, Abby is someone who was hired for her video production skills, not her video game playing. It does totally remind me of how Drew was mostly playing flight sims or Halo multiplayer which made it difficult for him to join the conversation.

I am enjoying Abby being the new employee in the mix mostly because it's entertaining to hear someone new start coming to realizations of how broken a human Dan is.

"You drink how many cans of soda a day??!?"
"Wait...you majored in Film Studies and the first noir film you've seen is Blade Runner that you just watched last week?"

I have really low opinions of the University of Kansas from playing rugby against them and more importantly Dan Rykert's film studies degree.

Typical "white dude" games is my favorite genre!

Whiter than a loaf of Texas Giant over here.
Wonderbread motherf*cker.

As a film major myself, that was my exact reaction too.

I've said it before, but so far, I like Abby. Anything to break the "white gamer dude" wall.

Vinny has been doing a good job providing openings for her to get involved in the conversations. Must be that dad sense at work. I'm sure eventually she'll gain the confidence and timing to needed to flow into the conversation naturally.

She's also not in the same room as the guys. It's less of a factor since apparently they can see her but there is a bit of separation.

Even in the podcasts?

They mentioned in the previous one that she's behind the mixing table.

Well, I think one or two of them are jewish, and Vinny is Italian.

Anyway, Abby is great.

I just started watching the E3 EA press conference coverage.

Ben Pack really ought to consider growing a mustache.

The story of Abby seeing Brad at the drug store was awesome.

I really like the new people, y'all.

I was surprised to see one Alex Navarro in a written piece about E3 on CBC.

Also included in the article, a clip of Snoop Dogg from last year's GB E3 stream.

Those My First E3 mini shows are so much fun. I'd happily listen to a cast primarily hosted by Abby and Ben at this point.

The creative director of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus just pulled out his vape rig (with permission) on the night show.

Amazing.

Not a big fan of this bald guy. The one with the glasses. And a button-up. With the beard. No, the shouty one.
