You know, I understand the sentiment, but ... geez.

What "geez?" Diverse people lead to more diverse opinions and generally better content. For as much as I love GB, it's essentially a frat that, since Austin left, I feel like I only keep up with out of habit and a love of Vinny.

Lots of places to hear a bunch of middle class straight white dudes talk about games, my options are essentially limitless.

But if I site I already liked hired some different voices? That would be very exciting.

How much better was GB when they hired Austin?

How much better was IT when they brought on Danielle?

sh*t, how good is waypoint that had this express goal in mind? REAL GOOD.

Almost everyone plays games now. Straight white males are, what, 30% of the population at most? Let's get some more folks in here.

Any way they can clone Dan three times?

Super f*cking good. While I miss hearing Patrick chatting with Gita and Sam every week on Match 3, that Waypoint podcast is amazing and I'm so glad to have it in my feed every week.

Yeah, it's an awesome podcast. I don't really like Danielle Riendeau and I still really like listening to it.

Austin's history was completely different and really lead to some fascinating discussions and opinions. No white guy could shed light on situations that he could.

I'm in the camp that really hopes that they find non-white dudes that fit in. The fit is the most important part but I'd love to get some different perspectives and mix it up.

They should hire one white guy, this one, right here. I have no real background in that space, but I have a desire to move into that space and meet 90% of the qualifications.

That said, I understand it is the longest of long shots. But hey, you can't reach your dreams if you don't stretch out your arms, right?

I also agree that some women and/or people of varying color/race would be a better choice.

Has the Waypoint podcast gotten better. I listened to it for several months, and it was okay, but now that I'm culling stuff off my listening queue, I find myself deleting new ones because I just didn't find them super compelling. I WANTED them to be compelling, because I really like Austin, but they just weren't. It's possible that the two a week format was too much, and one a week would work better.

I don't know if it has gotten better, but I thought it was pretty great from the start. Any cast that has Austin on it is a good podcast.

Even the episodes of Waypoint Radio that I don't love are pretty short. Monday's podcast was only 30 minutes.

Much like Drew, you didn't get the response you deserved for this one. I'll be your audience to turn and wink at Maverickz, don't worry.

Drew is Real World famous now.

And thank you Delerat, I appreciate it.

Oh look, another fifteen minute segment of the man child's food preferences. Ugh.

FTFY

Vinny turning Dan's mic off twice is my favourite thing of all last week.

Beast in the East is fantastic! Dan is driving the car. Alex is navigating. Vinny is sitting in the backseat cracking jokes.

Anyone in the USA going to apply for GBEast's new producer position? Vinny specifically stated that it's more of an entry level position and the main qualification is to not be a jerk.

I did. I actually applied for the NYC and CA positions. I have no proper experience for either, but those are both honestly dream jobs so I have to take a chance.

Can you imagine being that close to Dan, every work day?

Hahaha. I like Dan. I'd be fine with it.

If I was in the NYC area, I'd be applying for that position for sure. I have a degree in film, and know the theory of lighting, sound, and editing pretty well, just never managed to get the practical experience, but always wanted to.

Only so long before the diabeetus gets him.

Nice to hear someone from here applied. I'm tempted and would be willing to move my family but since I'm Canadian and my wife is Japanese it makes me basically unhirable by a US company.

I can't even begin to unpack that statement. lol

Complications of not living in the US makes it difficult for a company to want to relocate me and since my wife doesn't even have Canadian citizenship moving her and our daughter is a whole different ordeal.

Gotcha.

Do the standard podcasts show up on the premium feed earlier in the day?

I know I missed their annual sale last fall, but I would mildly consider subscribing just to get the podcasts at a more convenient time. As it is, they often post them just after I've started driving home for the day, which doesn't do me a lot of good.

Going in the tweets when they go live, they record in the late afternoon their time, don't they?

I haven't been on GWJ for about three years. Glad to see the debate over Dan still rages on in this thread.

This is my favorite post today.

The debate is over: Dan rules!

Dan rules everything around me.
