Minneapolis Recurring S&T - March 30th @ 6:30 in Eagan

A good friend is having a birthday celebration at 3pm, but I should be able to meet up for the Battlepods.

Uhh Battlepods is from noon to 2.....and that's all the time I can commit to tomorrow. Since I'm travelling Sun-Wed for work, have to work on wife faction before I leave.

Pretty sure Battlepods don't open until 1 PM

They are opening at noon just for us Nos. I am friends with the owners, and work for them at convergence, they had changed their hours after I had set up the times with them, so they are going to open an hour early just for us.

Soooooo . . . should be a small gathering?

Given that it looks like there'll be all of three of us attending, I think we should probably reschedule the board game meetup to another time. Thoughts? Are there more people planning on attending besides myself, Danimal and Jonvanjim?

Battlepods are still a 'GO' though.

I can't do the board games today, but definately interested in a regular get together going forward. I will be at the battle pods though at NOON.:)

I'd love a board game meetup. Just can't do it today.

Sorry all for not being able to attend. Family in town.

Trying to get a 20 page paper done this weekend but I'm going to do my best to get there tonight... how late are people planning on hanging out? Gotta get a good dent in this beast before I can swing by...

Indy, Johnvanjim, Milkman and I had a blast playing in the Battletech pods for a couple hours! I had to take off, and they went to grab some lunch, and were gonna go back and play for awhile. I believe Johnvanjim and Indy both took several photos.

Battlepods? Awesome. I wasn't particularly good, but don't care; it was a darn good time. I mean, really immersive and fun, and I'll undoubtedly be going back again. We'll have to do another gathering there at some point, and more people need to show. Seriously high-quality gamer-geekitude.

Great idea on the Battlepods Rainsmercy, I had a blast! Milk and I stayed on a bit longer after lunch, the place ended up filling up completely around 3:00 and it was fun not being the newbies for a change.

Had a blast, would definitely do it again!

On the board game topic: I'd love to set something up and host, but I also know that the holidays are probably going to eat everyone's schedule for a while. Would a Friday night possibly work for people? Or is it more likely to work on a weekend afternoon or evening?

Friday December 30th? Eveningish? Do we have 4+ people interested in that day? That's going to be about the only Fri-Sun day that I could get to work remaining in 2011.. If not, I'm good with getting something on the calendar for January.

That looks like a good time. Well done, gentlemen.

Fridays sometimes work, Saturdays are preferable, but I can swing things either way. As for Sundays, during football season I'm completely obsessed with the NFL, and the concept of leaving my beloved in NFL Sunday Ticket . . . the horror. I prefer to pretend that it's illegal to leave your house on Sunday afternoons.

The 30th should work; I have family leaving that day, but should be able to slip out for that incredibly long two-mile or so drive to your house.

Fallout Shelter Arcade, in the basement of a nondescript building. It really could be a fallout shelter, except for the windows which probably do not halt fallout very well.

Post battle debriefing. We were joined by non-goodjer regulars, and the owners (the couple in the background in the last pic, forgot their names). Knowing virtually nothing about battletech, I usually picked the coolest sounding mech, much to my detriment. But still fun, and I was starting to get the hang of it by the end of the couple of hours I played.

Looking forward to the next time, and hopefully get some board gaming up and going as well.

I can do Fridays, and am available every other Saturday. The 30th works for me, but I can't be in Eagan until 5:00 at the very earliest.

I don't get off work until 5, but otherwise the 30th should work for me, will have to see if my social secretary has any plans.

I would also recommend we see if we can get a monthly day scheduled for the battlepods;)

I may be able to do a monthly BP thing, I work at 4 a few blocks form there Sat/Sun right now.

Missed you on Saturday Nos.

I'd possibly be interested in a board game thing if my social anxiety will let me (which it probably won't). But, I live in Coon Rapids so Eagan is a bit of a hike for me.

I think I could be free on the 30th.

Since we're getting some momentum, I'm putting it on the google calendar.

Friday, December 30th, let's call it 6:00 PM start time, no end time listed.. I'll nab some Papa Murphy's pizza's, and hopefully have the homebrew tap lines run to the bar. If not, the fridge will be stocked!

If you want to bring a particular game, feel free, but these are the one's I'll have available already:
Defenders of the Realm (+ expansions)
Last Night on Earth (+ expansions)
A Touch of Evil (+ expansions)
Pandemic (+ expansion)
Shadows over Camelot (+ expansions)
Fortune and Glory
Small World (+ expansions)
Catacombs (+ expansions)
Cutthroat Caverns (+ expansions)
Ticket to Ride
Quarriors
Space Hulk
Revolution!
Tide of Iron
Battles of Westeros
Castle Panic
Descent (+ expansions)
Dominion (+ expansions)
Agricola
Puerto Rico
Monsterpocalypse
Arcane Legions
Settlers of Catan
Carcassone
Zombies!!
Ren Faire
Gloom
etc..

PM's will be sent to those interested with address/directions/contact information.

I can certainly be a beer and/or food provider. Being that you already have all of the "real" board games I own, apparently not a game provider, though.

The only thing that jumps out at me that I have that you haven't listed is Seven Wonders.

Yeah, I ended up babysitting for afternoon. I really want to give the battle pods a go sometime.

I woke up with a cold today. Note to people running battlepods facility--add hand sanitizer dispenser. Blech.

I have spousal approval for December 30th. Hooray!

I'm happy to help with beer/food/etc.

It's on my Amazon wish list, I unfortunately have a tendency of buying the games that I "want to play" long before I ever get a chance to play them. Consider it a whole new kind of "pile" I need to clear up before adding any more to the top. (Something I'm trying to remedy with a regular board game gathering! Thus allowing me to buy more!)

Anyone that wants to bring beer/food/whatever, that would still be appreciated as variety is indeed the spice of life.

Currently confirmed (and still plenty of room):
ChrisGwinn
Johnvanjim
MilkmanDanimal

Yeah, variety of beer is typically not a problem for me. Quite the opposite, I'd say. I'll be the beer fairy.

I'll bring Seven Wonders then - I've bought it, but haven't played yet. And probably food and/or beer.

I'm in for sure.

If my last bottle of Life and Limb makes it until the end of the month, I'll bring it and some other goodies along.
