Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Catch-All – Shepards with Jobs

Just an FYI, because I just sent most of you on the GoogleDoc an Origin friend invite. There's quite a number of you whose handles do not exist. Or in case of Dyni, there's 300+ hits. Or 3 LobsterMobsters. May make it a little hard for others to add you.

This nugget of info made me look for a link to my ID only to discover that I wrote the wrong one down in the spreadsheet! I put my Steam ID there.

Origin ID is Dynimight, in case anyone else was trying to add me under the wrong name.

Oh man it's so fun.

I almost saved the whole team tonight solo on this crazy silver match vs Reapers... almost. Took out like 3 of the boss things, was running from a couple more to get grenades, and one of the lowly regular grunts just stepped up and shot me. Very disappointing end to an almost epic round.

Well my race/classes in the demo did not transfer over.

Never was supposed to.

Anybody want to play? I'm just starting out, so I'm not going for any higher level difficulties.

I will be online every night this week if somebody wants to hit up MP on the PS3

. I know the PS3 what a heathen I am.

Lordy, lordy. Got a single shot hand cannon in a Spectre package and tried out the Infiltrator-cloak-shotgun strategy.

I don't even bother carrying another gun now. Cloak, shoot, cloak, shoot. It never gets old.

Well, I bit the bullet and got the game. I'm not going to play single player for a while, but I might have time for some multiplayer matches... maybe. May I have a Steam Group invite?

If anyone wants to play on PC tonight send me a message on Origin or Steam. I would love to play with 3 other people I know.

The multi is definitely a lot harder than it was in the demo or maybe I am just a terrible biotic.

Thanks tuffalobuffalo for inviting me in last night. Good times were had.

Does the whole preparedness thing with the percentages just need to get to 100% to be maximized for SP? In one night I got it to 77% on all regions, so it's not that big of a deal it seems.

I got a Hurricane SMG as a rare. It sucks balls. It's heavy, and the recoil is ludicrously huge, so you can't hit anything with it. Uh, woo and all.

Played for a bunch last night, and yes, it seems harder. Part of that is that the geth and Reaper enemies are much more difficult, and I still haven't discovered all the possible places to set up defenses on the new maps. Firebase Dagger seemed the easiest of the bunch, though, very open with lots of places for cover.

True. That Banshee is a monster.

I remember when I was the only LobsterMobster.

Are you talking about the M-300 Claymore shotgun? That's a great combo, especially if you like making chili.

Anyone playing on PS3 feel free to add me PSN: BiffMcskylark, just lemme know your coming from GWJ in the message so I don't think your a creeper

I ran that on the soliarin Inf. In demo, it was a sweet combo. You might want to think about carrying a pistol though. I found I was more flexible, what with the reload time of the Claymore. This combo should especially be good with the Quarian Inf, IMHO.

I mainly play with the Quarian Infiltrator, and I've been rocking a Phalanx and Claymore combo. I miss the sniper rifle but if that's how I want to play, I go human. The Quarian is all about sabotage. I might switch the Phalanx out for an SMG since the Quarian has a skill option that reduces SMG weight by 30%. First I need a decent SMG.

I'm having a hard time tearing myself away from the single player to get into MP much. I did play my first game last night, though, against the Reapers. Good lord, that insta-kill melee from the Banshee is rough.

I had the impression from the tweet the classes would transfer over but be reset. It was the new droprates that transfered. BTW anyone pick up a rare on a Vet Pack yet? If you do not know Rares are outlined in Gold. The only Rare I have gotten (the Renevant thankgoodness) came from the Spectre pack I got with some spare Micosoft points I have not spent in ages.

That is funny, I am finding it easier exept for the unfamilar maps.

Imported my ME2 save into ME3 and I start as an Adept with 4 ranks in Singularity. I then pumped it up to rank 7 with the extended range and ...

I have to say the Biotic combo of Singularity + Warp/Throw is awesome. What's more my cooldown on Singularity is something like 1.36 sec and 1+sec for Throw. So basically I don't see a need to even use a gun, Singularity + Warp/Throw, rinse and repeat.

Of course I've only just reached the Citadel so not sure if this combo will hold for the rest of the game.

Okay running list of PS3 players I have seen including myself

The best part about the banshee is how she continues to shriek for some time after she dies.

...I-is she dead?

Many weapons start out fairly poor, but with upgrades (i.e., getting the card multiple times) and/or the right mods they can become very useful for the right character build. That said, I'm not really a fan of SMGs and groan every time I have a pack wasted on one.

I only played two or three rounds last night before deciding to start up single player, but I did hit the jackpot in my starter pack: Asari Adept right off the bat. Makes up for the terrible luck I had with drops for most of the demo. That said, stasis has been (rightfully) nerfed a bit, although it is still crazy useful once fully upgraded to bubble.

Single player stuff about importing an adept

I had a similarly eyeopening experience, but the thread you want is here.

Maxed out singularity is absolutely monstrous. I was able to beat all 11 waves on bronze by myself just by spamming singularity and one-shotting big guys with the rocket launcher.

My envy meter is pricked, though I did get a Turian Soldier in one pack and a Renevant in another. Killer combo with Markmanship and the Turian bonus for AR's and weapon stability.

I agree with SMG's BTW. They seem too inbetween for most builds I use.

My first pack gave me a Quarian Infiltrator. Second one was a Viper. Third one was a Claymore.

Me!

I got a Turian Sentinel again pretty quick, and an Asari Vanguard, which kicks ass. I hope I can get my Salarian Infiltrator back soon--he was my favorite.

You lucky individual.

Too bad I'm on vacation, I'm going to miss most of the first week of multiplayer for ME3. Look forward to playing with you all in a few more days once I get home and have ME3 waiting for me.

I know, ME3 was very nice to me and I said thank you.

I don't understand how sabotage works so I've stayed away from it so far. What things can I hack, just turrets and those silly floating drones? How close do I have to be to hack them?

I've put all of my points into her cloak and maxed her passives. I just trip around one shot Claymoring everything in sight. Last night I found a competent sniper to pair with and we were breezing through the silver stages with a rotating cast of flunkies.

I did see a buffed out Asari adept in action, that teleporting looks mighty entertaining :).
