Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Catch-All – Shepards with Jobs

Mattock is still my favorite, personally. The Collector Rifle isn't bad but Mattock is better as long as your finger doesn't get tired.

On the Turian Soldier specifically, the Revenant kicks a lot of backside. (Possibly on the new Quarian soldier too, since I hear he has Marksman as well?)

I too have jumped into multiplayer since....can't even remember. June? May? Can't really say. In any case, I have many of you guys on my friends list, but I rarely see anyone online. Do you have set hours or days when you all play? I wouldn't mind getting in some goodjer fun tonight.

Also...you can now play as a Volus? hahahahahahaha. I want Elcor and/or Hanar next!!

So what's the new hottest with assault rifles? I mentioned earlier that I have all the X-variants of the base assault rifles. I'm partial to the Mattock, but are there any other AR's that I should be using/striving for?

Cerberus Harrier. Best gun in the game.

This. I only have level 1 with it, but it's extremely powerful.

Wow...the long time I've been away is quite noticeable. I don't consider myself bad, but my equipment sucks. I only just unlocked a Valiant. My Mattock is still on level one...sheesh. It's gonna be a tough climb back into shape...

Also, got my 75,000 pts for rifle damage challenge done. Took like 7 games. I switched between Geth Pulse, Collector, and Mattock. All level 1's. I got the Valiant I for it. Neeto. I like it. Can't wait to get it upgraded.

Just got my 75K in two rounds. Harrier is awesome

And my prize.... Valiant IV

Valiant VIII. My last three or four have been Valiants. Not complaining. Much.

I hate you guys. I keep getting crap consumables, tier one human classes which I already have, and the last special item I got was the Collector Sniper Rifle, which looks weird and heard its bad.

At least I do have a Black Widow.

It's the Commendation Pack for doing the weekend challenge; it's free if you complete the challenge. Always get an N7 weapon out of the deal.

I got mine in about 3 rounds with the M-99 Saber, but two of those were solo, properly outfitted so I could pop most geth in two shots or less (one for the basic troopers).

You heard it's bad because everyone says everything they get is horrible if it's not the best gun evar. Try it out and see if you like it.

Kexx, if you haven't done this yet, it's be a good idea to just buy the 5k packs until you have every starter weapon up to rank X. The Avenger and Predator are quite good, because they're light and hit reasonably hard.

I think I'll do that. I'm not much of an AR user though. I snipe and bio explode everyone to pieces. It's my preferred style, hehehe. But, I might just give the other classes a try.

I currently favor my Human Female Sentinel, and my Turian Sentinel, because I like Turians, and Overload. I wish there was a class that had both Overload and Throw. You guys have no idea how many lives I've saved inches from being stepped on by punting the baddies away with Throw. I love it. Plus, it triggers Warp!

Also, last night I played Platinum with some pubs. This one guy was amazing. I spent most of the game dead because I didn't equip properly, but we made it to wave 6, and I got 70,000+ credits.

There's an exploit on Rio. Apparently, inside one of the crates where there's amo, Banshees don't fit, hence they won't grab you. They'll still shoot and hurt you, but if you have a Volus regenerating your shields constantly, it's considerably easier.

We did 5 waves on Platinum this way. Objective waves kill this exploit, but if you manage to survive them, return and repeat.

Kexx: The Mantis might even be better than the Black Widow for power-using classes. It's lighter.

I like the Mantis but it's reload time is absurd. I've seen players kill 2 or sometimes 3 enemies in the time I finish reloading.

Anyway, Through playing intensely both Friday and Saturday, I finally upgraded my medigel capacity, but I still think I'm very far behind from everyone. I'm at:

4 Cobra Missiles
4 Medigels
4 Ops Survival Packs
3 Thermal Clip Packs

What does everyone's backpacks look like?

I'm still getting tier 1 human classes. Do these ever stop or will I be getting them constantly? I was under the impression I would keep getting them until I had all the appearance changes, then it stopped. But it hasn't.

Yeah, that's how it's supposed to work. It took them about a year to fix the SMG Lightweight Materials Mod, and that shipped with the game.

It's an intentional way of giving you a shot at getting free XP from packs. Uncommon and Rare characters stop showing up once you've gotten all the appearance unlocks, but the common cards will always have a chance of showing up.

Well that sucks then. No more 5k packs for me. I'm only buying Veteran and Spectre Packs from now on. And occasionally, the Premium Spectre Packs....I just realized that's what you all meant when you typed PSP. Great.

Yeah, I buy Premium Spectre Packs. I now have a Widow II I went the entire time without a single widow, now 2 packs in a row both had a widow. Now that's random!

I'm still at 2 for what I think are the most Important: medigels and cobras.

Yep, the Rio box is the new Glacier control room. It's a great spot for stacking up enemy debuffs (volus engineer's proxy mine, justicar's bubble) and, as kexx said, not getting insta-grabbed by banshees. For objectives, you can stay planted for kill-4, send an infiltrator (hopefully ghost) out for disables, or stick together in a group and spam missiles for anything else. You can still get insta-killed by phantoms though, and I've seen Atlases reach down into the box to grab guys. It's not an instant-win button, but probably the best bet for extracting platinum with pubbies, since it's a strategy that seems to be widely known at this point.

I imagine the box will get patched out soon enough.

I love my Turian Ghost. Those Stim Packs are something else. Also, I finally gave the Reegar shotgun a chance. Yeah, no wonder why people spam it. It does insane damage. No sniper rifle can even compare. At least not at level 1´s. I´m a sniper/biotic mostly, but it seems I might need to change that up a bit considering how some of the classes and weapons behave.

Especially if I want to complete any of the challenges. Man, some of them are brutal. I know I´ve been out of the game for a long time, and I´m just getting back into shape, but I can´t complete a Solo Silver. I´ve done one Bronze, and haven´t been able to again.

Thing is, I promoted all my classes, so getting them back up to shape has been a pain. Most lobbies see my low levels, and the kick is in..

If you want to solo Silver, Krogan Vanguard (skipping Carnage entirely). Do it against Geth (no insta-kills) on a big map (so you can run around). I use a Disciple with damage/bayonet (the stagger effect is really handy), plus an Acolyte (eats shields and fries Geth). Actually pretty darn easy, depending on objectives.

I have no Disciple and no Acolyte. I do have Geth though. Man, getting equipment is a task!!!

The only reason to use the Disciple is because it's very light. I typically throw a bayonet and piercing mod on it to boost melee damage and help deal with armored enemies, but the Katana and Eviscerator shotguns are light enough to work well too. Or if you don't have an appropriately light shotgun, take a pistol instead. They have a melee damage mod too. I'd recommend against taking an assault rifle with an omniblade mod since that'll weigh you down too much and your survivability depends on using frequent charges to keep your shields up.

With my Krogan Vanguard I've completed solo silver rounds without firing a shot and without using a single item, so don't worry too much about how "gunny" your guns are. It's totally fine to go into combat with only one, or to pack a negligibly light SMG with level 5 lightweight materials mod (the Geth SMG and Hurricane make pretty good panic weapons, especially with expanded magazines).

The hard part is striking a good balance between melee and shields. As you spec your Krogan, you'll have to choose between one or the other from time to time. I'd recommend against going 100% one way or the other but I'm undecided on exactly which choices to make and where. I suspect it doesn't make that big a difference as long as you diversify. Just make absolutely sure you spec your barrier for increased recharge rate and your charge to restore 100% of your shields.

I kite the entire wave round and round on Giant. What helps me are powers that stun the enemies, particularly Overload. I´ll give the Krogan strategy a spin though, see what happens.

Yeah the Krogan train is awesome. I usually use a pistol with the melee mod. I wonder if I have a light enough shotgun to use two melee mods?

I can confirm a Disciple X (an oft ignored but damn fine gun, in my estimation) is extremely light, and I bet it becomes light enough well before you get an X. But do melee mods stack like that, or does only the gun you have out count?

There are two different melee mods for the shotgun but you can only equip one at a time, and you only get the benefit from the mod when you have that gun out.

Kroguard vs. Geth is indeed one of the easiest solo set-ups out there. I almost challenge-whored my way to my first Gold solo the other day doing Kroguard vs. Geth on White. (Forgot to get back to the extraction zone in time though. :o)

I'm fairly certain it's just the one you have out.
