Boombox. Phil Collins. Giant Goodjer banner. You know what your plans are.

Invisible Touch or get out.

So what was the counter-sign for weiner bomb? Please tell me it wasn't finger -> butt.

It was finger -> butt, wasn't it.

I'm planning to go to the few actual industry panels, catch up with the other local devs, go to whatever Giant Bomb does this year, walk the floor in my FarmVille shirt to see what happens, and party party party.

I guess there's board games or something? That sounds cool too.

I will be there from Thurs night till Sun early Sunday evening (dependent on flight schedules). You will find me in the boardgame area most of the time after Fri morning (walking the floor).

What we need is a Goodjer Facial Recognition Packet, as I have no idea what you guys actually look like.

The trick we used last year was to indiscriminately yell out, "weiner bomb!"

This was an interesting moment last year where I was deciding how much I wanted to yell "WEINER BOMB" by the TOR booth before people started looking at me funny, then I met Tigerbill and Tanglebones.

I think what we need are hats! and flags!

Mrs. Mono and I will be in the table top area with baby Mono (who likes to help me play my cards with drooly fingers...)

Nah we have those too, they're just not as obvious.

You need a bunch of card protectors, stat. Houseapes are always emitting something no matter what age they are, and drool is nothing compared to skateboard lubricant.

Mrs. Mix and I love Lost Cities! We like to practice numbers and colors in foreign languages with that game.

Rabbit, any news on another GWJ meetup at the Seaport? Descending upon the lobby bar with all the other Goodjers was one of the highlights for me last year.

It will be you before you know it if not already except sub in Lost City cards for U.S.S.R. party members

I am sure this is just the beginning of lots of messes with lots of fluids and semi-solids to come.

We'll work on colors and numbers in English first with him then move to other languages Although it might be fun to have to say each color in a different language before you play them.

We bought a Yoda costume for him to wear at PAX so there is an easy way to find us. I was looking into a X-wing pilot costume too but didn't find one I liked that fit in the budget... that would have been a fun set.

More details as we get closer, but we may do the same. We have some big suites too. Figuring it out.

So Cyrax and I are planning on rooming together, but considering how expensive stuff gets, it would be nice to have another two folks to share a room with.

So anyone looking for a hotel room or looking to fill theirs up, let us know please.

Speaking of board games. I'm looking forward to another round of BSG, preferably without the creepy rando looming over the table half the time!

Lol, Good times. I think we have a picture of him during that game too. Can we have it so one player isn't both Cylons this time. Either way I will be spectating rooting for the demise of the humans.

Second on the call for BSG. I'll bring my copy and I'll do my best to not be a double Cylon this time. I plan to bring 7 Wonders and Battleship Galaxies as well.

Anybody have any interest in a game a Fiasco? If so I'll bring the book and a few playsets.

Just a heads up to anyone I promised floor space to in my hotel room. I have two friends who are going to join me so, that offer is off the table. Sorry.
I thought only one was going to come but the other lives in the DC area and decided to drive up for the weekend.

Now to book the flight this week.

So anybody in the Seaport / Westin need a roommate? Kinda looking for a hotel late and hoping I can swing it so I don't have to walk 30 blocks :/

Anyone remember what the shuttle schedules were like last year? I recall them ending somewhere around midnight.

There's always taxis. Also, I just mapped it out and it's only a mile from the BCEC to the Hyatt Regency where we're staying. My wife walks twice that every day for work. As long as the weather cooperates I think that's how we'll get home each night, unless some of the locals tell me that I'm likely to get mugged.

I'm already going to be paying to keep my car parked at the hotel each night, I'd rather not spend money on taxis. If it is too far a walk then I'd at least like to have the option to use a shuttle, as the discussion of subways in this thread has not been very simple.

I mean, I'm used to Philly, which is pretty much "just take the Blue Line" with the occasional need to use the Green Line maybe (I used it once to get to an interview).

When we went to the first PAX east (2 years ago) we stayed with one of my wife's friends in the Boston area and tried the train it was nice in the morning but the whole "it stops at midnight" was not much fun as it interfered with the shows and other evening events. My wife, being the awesome lady that she is would come pick us up at 2-3 in the morning and take us back. Last year we stayed within walking distance and that was a much nicer experience.

That and they were on the Green Line which is one of the slower lines in town. Moving the event to the BCEC was a much better idea since it's a major step up in terms of just getting to the venue. Not tying yourself to the T schedule improved our (me + girlfriend) experience significantly last year.

This brings up a good point I hadn't thought of. I'm staying at the Westin attached to the convention center; my buddy is driving up from DC for Fri and Sat where would be the best/cheapest place for him to park?

Actually, I'm no longer planning on staying Sunday night, too. I'll be checking out on Sunday, which means less money spent for cyrax and maybe Pyroman, at least. Unlike my last job, I actually like my current one, and taking two days off is honestly bad enough since my work will HAVE to be pushed to others. Thursday and Friday are bad enough days to take off, but Monday too would be unfair.

So my plan has changed to just staying Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night then checking out on Sunday.

That was my plan too, flying home Sunday. Have you found a hotel yet?

We did not get a hotel this year but will be driving in all 3 days.

Looking forward to the GWJ Meetup.

I wanted to talk to my boss first, and it looks like it'll be okay for me to take Thursday and Friday off. When I get a chance I'll give another look on PAX East's site, plus sites like Expedia (if anyone knows a better way to get Hotels, let me know).

I also like hipmunk.com but I am having a hard time finding a hotel that's not a fairly hefty walk and still has rooms available.

I've pretty much come to accept the fact that I'll be staying at least 1.5 miles from the convention center, truth told. Personally, I could use the walk, at least on the first day. Who knows how I'll feel after walking and standing around a convention center all day, but that's partly why I'm using the PAX East site. Let me know which hotels have a shuttle and which do not.

Not sure if you were there last year, but your feet will be killing you by the end of day 2 if you're not careful. The expo floor is hard concrete and only Ubisoft's booth had carpet down last year.

... and that carpet was frelling nightmare for accessibiliity and line management.

Good, well-broken in shoes are a must here, gang, even if you stay at the attached Westin. I recommend packing two pairs and trading off each day. The BCEC is insanely huge, and they're making it even larger. And I doubt sincerely those new floors are going to be any softer. They aren't joint-killing bare travertine like the WSTCC, but that unpadded commercial floor covering isn't much better.

But if felt soooo goood. There were a bunch of bottlenecks in the expo last year, hopefully that's not the case this time.

The only thing I stayed on line for last year for an inordinate length of time was SWTOR - doubt I'll repeat that, so I'll mostly be sticking to board games & other GWJ hangouts.
