PAX East 2012 Catch All & GWJ Meetup

We will be driving up from right before the Cape all 3 days. Just bought a house last year and cannot justify paying for a hotel.

I can't believe this is in two days. It seemed so far away for so long and now look where we are. I got my hair cut and everything. With scissors.

I'm counting the minutes until work is over and I'm home, preparing for the train ride to Boston tomorrow. I'm super psyched myself.

So, in general #GWJ is probably the best tag to use, as it will be in more people's searches.

I'm so excited. I hope I can actually be productive at work tomorrow.

Doubt it And what about today?

I'm actually being productive today! It helps that I'm mostly just knocking out simple bugfixes and nothing so far has taken up too much brain :p

Hopefully those people spamming it with a dance TV show, or whatever will be shamed into stopping

Streaming schedule is up

Does anyone know if Twitch archives streams? There's a bunch of panels in there that I either cut from my schedule or aren't sufficiently interested in enough to bother waiting in line for.

You're not the only one. Of course, my office is going to be a bit of a zoo since they're moving the company to a different building on Friday, so I don't expect to do much real coding after lunch.

FYI, Colby (Plaid Hat Games/Summoner Wars) Dauch is looking for help at his booth this weekend -- he had a last minute cancellation. He has a badge and product to trade for some level of covering the booth and running demos. If anyone's lamenting and reading this thread, drop me a PM and I will connect you with him.

So, uh, anything exciting happening this weekend?

Nothing that I know of.

If your drive takes you via Rte 24 (nearish the intersection with I495), you're welcome to park at my house and I can drive the rest of the way, at least for Friday and Saturday. PM if you're interested.

Nothing much; some guy in sunglasses said there was a cereal convention in Boston, though.

I heard something about you dancing?

I went last year, but can't make it this year :(. If anyone going would be kind enough to drop by the star wars old republic booth and pick up an ingame code for me, I would love you forever.

Spoiler:

Or not kill you for a day or two if you're a TF2'er :)

For the first time ever, fans who visit our booth will be able to pick up a code redeemable for a tauntaun mini-pet in-game. These special black and white tauntauns are only available by coming to one of our events.

Me too! For the first time in eight years.

Is there a 3 hour line involved this year? I'd love to not have you kill me on Stan's Pub or Lounge for a day or two

I should be asleep. Going to the train station tomorrow to head up to Boston.

It's like Christmas, only if Christmas lasted a whole weekend and got me spending time with people that weren't my family.

Or maybe I should say it's like Easter, only Easter without my family.

That was just the line for the demo, and it was more than 3 hours, it was an all day line, ha. This should be at the booth and not the play test area, I hope...

Just put an offer in on a house. I'm still planning on being at PAX, but I may get called away to go negotiate how I can descend into debt deeper than what I could conjure up in the wildest fever dream, at any moment. Adulthood!

Congrats!

24 hours to go!

Thank you for the offer, but we are coming up via Rt 3. My wife makes the drive into Boston everyday as it is so she is pretty used to it.

So it turned out I had some spare space in my duffel bag, so I decided to bring the Order of the Stick board/card game. In hindsight, might have been better to bring Mall of Horror since it's a faster game, easier to pick up and takes up less space.

Either way, I'll have that for Thursday gaming as well, in addition to any activities after the meet-up on Saturday.

When do we want to kick off the Westin lobby festivities? I'll be in and settled by 6; unless delayed by weather again this year.

If you head down to the Mezzanine you'll be bound to find a bunch of Penny Arcade Forum PAXers already gathered. I'll try and remember what you looked like from last year (I only sat and talked with you for like, oh, I dunno, A LONG TIME) and find you. I probably won't be down there until 7. I'll have a blue "Press X to Not Die" t-shirt on and will be carrying Order of the Stick and will either have a blue messenger bag with me or two ziplocks containing the card games.

Don't worry, I'm crappy with names and faces too.

Pro-tip: Don't forget your badge. An hour before the train got here I realized I remembered everything BUT my badge, and my brother had to rush to get it to me. AND he actually drove right by me. Thank God for the red light, because I was able to dash to his car and get it. I had four minutes to spare.

So I am now on the train to Boston, and I just realized just how long six hours is. Yay! Let's see how Amtrak's crappy wi-fi handles Netflix.

Where the friday morning bacon at.

Trawling through the Boston.com site for PAX mentions: http://www.boston.com/business/techn... (Of interest: Kid Icarus AR cards up for grabs in a scavenger hunt)

And this is going to be fun to deal with next year. What a mess that tunnel turned out to be
