Things you should know by now, but only just discovered

To be fair, I also get similar *poo in nose* reactions when I tell people the type of law and populations of people I wish to practice in. On a few occasions I have to trot out "what do you mean those people?"

Man, you guys need different friends...

This is more at parties with the Extendables. My friends are "cool."

But we are noticing this uncanny pattern among essentially strangers. I am getting why we have the thread in the P&C section to go more in depth here. Sometimes you feel like a damn leper.

My uncle who is now in the running as my favorite person of 2013 basically said he understood it, he was snipped after his second kid, but also knows that I am an adult and can make my own choices.

But this particular dinner event, the girl of honor also has sworn off kids, as has Roger (my wife and mine own friend who will be doing me some free tax deductible web presence assistance for my firm).

Well, Gorilla, you seem like a smart guy. So I say you watch the movie Idiocracy and then go out and have as many kids as you can.

If they're strangers, that's just even more reason for them to shut it. "If you can't say something nice, then say nothing." That's not meant to strangle discourse, but to promote tolerance and common courtesy outside a serious venue of dialectics. You'd be doing them a service to remind them of it.

Do I then send them my bill? I mean it is not a lot, but it is $50 bucks an hour for instruction or other outside contract work. This was a 3 hour dinner. Plus I paid for my own transportation, do I expense that out to them?

But then again, I could then write off the meal as a business expense. You give me much to think about Larry.

Erm. If I read correctly, it's a bit too late for that... unless that kind of thing is reversible nowadays.

Once routing around in there like a change purse is enough for me.

Afro Samurai.

Watching it on Netflix now.

So awesome.

They could have used the tie-off method.

He played himself in the lead role of Darksiders.

I couldn't leave that one alone.

Nope, they took off a good inch of tube from both sides. I was hoping for a preventative blasting of gamma rays just to be safe or to turn me into the Hulk.

Was he any good?

Nutmeg is psychoactive at sufficient doses. One side effect is (seriously) "sense of impending doom". My holidays make more sense now.

It's also lethal at not much greater dose than the psychoactive one. Do not f*ck around with nutmeg. sh*t will f*ck you up.

An anarchist town near Seattle full of nudists that was so radical that an army was raised to try and burn it down. http://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Home_(Washington)

I know a guy who messed himself up badly on nutmeg.

nutmeg is a hell of a drug

Steam:

I know crazy right, the things I should have already known about, but just found out last night. I've been agonizing over whether or not to get a console just so I could play Portal/Portal 2, then out of the blue Sway says they have PC versions on Steam.

I guess Steam is for more than sending Secret Santa Gifts after all...

Now to acquire Portal Codes and no one will see me for an undisclosed amount time...

I might have leftover copies of valve games if you need one. I'm not sure if it is portal 1 or not... hit me up on steam.

I bet RedJen could actually build up a sizeable pile in Steam with just the leftover games in people's inventory.

I have both Portal and Portal 2 if you want. They are wasting away in my inventory.

Lets be honest, is there anybody who doesn't have a spare copy of Portal kicking around?

I honestly don't. True story.

The other one is Bioshock of which I have a copy to give away if anyone wants it. Will post it in the video game deals thread, too.

Krev has sent me a copy of Portal, but I'll gladly accept your spare Portal 2.

I think I own it three times. Once from the free steam copy they gave out when Steam for Mac launched, once for Xbox 360 via The Orange Box, and the XBLA version with the extra maps and stuff.

Sent. It is definitely one of my favorite games.

Holy sh*tsnacks, L.A. is huge.
