Things you should know by now, but only just discovered

Jayne is played by a Baldwin (not a brother but a cousin). Watched the movie, My Bodyguard and I'm like, hey, that's Jayne. I also thought I saw Johnny from Karate Kid but it wasn't him. It's always fun to watch old movies and see young stars.

Baldwin is also in Full Metal Jacket.

Huh. I never connected the two roles (Firefly and FMJ), but when you mentioned that, Lunchbox, I knew immediately which FMJ character he played. Interesting. He seems to be a type for directors.

Quite an animal, really. Sad he’s treated like an average Jane and not featured more. Maybe he’ll have an Independence Day sometime when Hollywood acquires some insight and treat him as a patriot, above and beyond the other Baldwins. That mass effect would allow my mind to be in serenity. Until then I will only give them evil eyes.

Wasn't he a big instigator in the Gamergate debacle?

The one who coined the term in fact.

I see what you did there, Keithustus. And I approve.

I’ve just walked into a room where there appears to be an interesting conversation going on about Baldwin brothers and cousins and someone named Jane who might be a man...

Can somebody bring me up to speed on this?

Adam Baldwin is an alt-right conspiracy nut who was heavily involved in Gamergate and other varieties of internet awfulness. He is also an actor who played a character named Jayne in a short-lived TV show.

You forget his best actual role as Casey on Chuck. But good effort.

Sadly he belongs in the creator/creations thread now because he's a horrible person.

It's like people don't even remember him in Predator 2. Or Predator 2 for that matter. I mean, it's not great, but isn't like actively erasing it from your mind like Highlander 2.

There were other Highlander movies?

In all seriousness, I really loved the Highlander franchise and I've actually seen nearly every episode of the TV series and I've seen all the movies. If you've never watched the TV series, it's available on Amazon Prime streaming and it's a pretty good ride. There's a few clunkers in there, but some of the over-arching story lines in the later seasons are really great. All the movies aside from the first basically sucked, but Endgame wasn't that bad. It's fine. It's not spectacular, but it's fine. The rest of the movies are better off ignored completely.

Every time it's mentioned, someone goes off to rewatch it! I went back through recently. They really found their stride in season 3.

Oh dear. Must look into his involvement. To google!

Highlander 2 was the only movie to make retroactively like an earlier movie less. It was so bad it sucked in reverse time.

X-Men 3 wasn’t as bad as Highlander 2, but it definitely did more damage to my opinion of its predecessors.

I think it helps that the first Highlander stands on its own. A lot of the appeal of the first two X-Men movies was they felt like they were the beginning of something that could have been awesome.

I just learned that CAPTCHA stands for Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart.

Over Highlander 2? If you're looking to pick a fight it's going to have to be over something with a bit more substance.

Hmm... though it looks like the Rifftrax catalog agrees with you. I would have thought they'd have picked that low-hanging fruit by now.

Hell yeah! And! There is no Highlander 2 Renegade Version! And Highlander 2 Special Edition doesn't exist either! And I haven't seen all of them! Because they don't exist!

I see your Highlander 2 and raise Highlander 5.

This is one of those things like how I can't believe there are four Species movies.
