Things you should know by now, but only just discovered

Would ice cream or sorbet be a palate cleanser? I was under the impression it was something like water or the pickled ginger at a sushi place, i.e. something that "resets" your tastebuds so you don't get separate parts of the meal all mingled together.

Sorbet yes, ice cream no. I wouldn't be surprised if there were only certain flavors that worked. The one time I've had sorbet as a between-courses thing it had a mild flavor.

Huh. Well that right there is a thing I should have known by now but only just discovered.

I think it's partly to do with contrast as well. So if you're sampling sweets, something salty or sour would probably be good cleanse?

P.S. Kidz Bop is actually good now? Like there's recording and production quality there. $$$$

A light sorbet, like a mild lemon one, is often served during tastings that require a "tongue reset" between courses. Sorbet is water ice, so it does not leave a lingering effect. Ice cream, however, is fat-based and will coat the mouth, defeating the goal of removing lingering flavors.

Apparently, Edge of Tomorrow was based off a light novel that was made into a manga. It doesn't suffer from a Tom Cruise ending, though. I will find it.

The original title is much better: All You Need Is Kill

The audio book is really good, I recommend it.

I read the book, then watched the movie. Book was mildly interesting. Movie was hot garbage in comparison - like all the interesting parts of the book were surgically removed. Cruise was at his most tedious action-hero self, Blunt was a comically overblown badass - the only surprising part of the movie was how well she carried this off.

I liked both the book and the movie.

Not the Beatles' best work for sure, but it still beats The Ballad of John and Yoko.

I thought Tom Cruise ending was the best part of the movie.

To be fair, for most guys the ending was the main reason to watch Titanic.

When Leo sinks into the deep and is reborn as a luscious and cold Dark Mer of the Sea to passionately tear your back with his fishy claws and slide the light of his dorsal appendage slowly into your mouth.

The ending of Titanic was the best.

Origin story of Aquaman

It probably had more to do with the buoyancy of the door more than the space.

Spoiler:

I haven't seen Titanic since it came out, and didn't like it.

Just assume the end of titanic is how he ends up on The Beach, which you've hopefully not had the misfortune of seeing.

Having just watched The Raid and Raid 2 back to back:

A) I'd forgotten how amazing/unblinkingly violent that first film is. Several thighs were irreparably harmed during the course of that film.

Spoiler:

B) The guy killed at the very start of Raid 2 is the brother of the main character who chooses to stay in a life of crime at the end of the first film. Probably should have picked up on that but didn't until now.

When did that happen?

Anybody ever hear of this show on Netflix called "The Office"? I caught an episode or two when it was originally on the air and thought it was 'okay'. Now I'm watching it straight through (just finished season 3 tonight) and I'm upgrading my thoughts on the show to 'pretty darn good'.

Apparently I haven't watched enough of the show to know who that character is yet.

It's one of my all-time favorite shows, along with All In The Family.

Catch the original British version, too.

I normally like British comedy, but I couldn't stand the original Office.

I can't stand him. His voice, laugh, anything he is in. Everything about him jives with my other likes but boy howdy, he instantly ruins anything he is in. That being said, neither Office ever hit my fancy.
