Mass Effect 3 Catch-All

Still can't believe I was a soldier on my first ME2 run. How boring.

That's what goes through my mind when people say they chose soldier. But hey, 80% of players (or whatever it is) can't be wrong, right?

I went through ME1 twice and ME2 once all as a soldier. Finally on my second time playing through ME2 I went as an adept. Which I ended up liking even more.

I think the problem is that there is no way to change your mind once you start the game. And the player creation screens offer very little help in understanding the classes. I played through as a soldier the first time and it was great, so I didn't want to risk a 50 hour play through just to find out I didn't actually like playing a different class.

One nice thing about the ME3 demo is that it's an easy way to try out the other classes without being punished too much. I did that and I still seem to like adept best.

Multiplayer as well.

Did anyone else get a nice animation glitch and some missing speech when talking to the Illusive man?

Additional: From what I've played so far, I'm giving this a provisional "Scratched thumbs up". Let the gushing begin.

Boy, Origin is still quite the piece of sh*t, isn't it?

Game patch is out, about 40mb.

If you've already done vpn, you have to do it again after patch. Since I don't even know what's in the patch, might be worth it.

I'd like to thank everyone who is taking part in the pre-launch emergency beta testing.

No, the pleasure is all mine.

Anyone noticed the animation is a little janky? They still can't do a walking/jogging animation that doesn't look awkward, and the lip-sync/mouth animation looks off. I usually don't mind bad talking animations, but I guess with ME's emphasis on 'cinematic conversations' it brings more attention to it.

edit, rather than making another post: My other thought is that they might have gone a little overboard on the boob-plate armour. Combined with how they're making everything shiny and reflective, it's a little.... ummm.... distracting. A decision on whether this is a good or a bad thing might take a while.

So you folks are following the @AllianceNewsNetwork and #solcomms on Twitter, right?

@AllianceNewsNetwork is surprisingly compelling.

I have had a strange bit of karma and I don't know if I should count it as being in my favor or not. Was supposed to start my new position at work tomorrow, but HR is being stupid saying they need a new background check on me since it has been like 3 years since the last one and they are telling me that this could take up to a week now (and here I thought we were living in the digital age). So now I have gone from picking up ME3 and coming home to go straight to bed to actually being able to put in an hour or two tonight and perhaps even having the next week off to play it. I'm finding it hard to be pissed off at HR even though they dragged their feet Friday and only got around to starting the process and letting me and my supervisor know today.

3 hours 50 minutes.....3 hours 47 minutes....

Both: Manshep is my Paragon Soldier. Femshep is my Renegade Vanguard

WHO THE HELL IS THIS WOMAN ON MY SHIP AND WHERE IS KELLY CHAMBERS? THIS GAME IS BULLsh*t!!!

There are some reports on the Bioware forums that if you imported your Shepard from ME1 into ME2 without altering the face, the face now won't import from ME2 into ME3. :/ Anyone here who's had luck with a HK VPN able to confirm or counter that?

I've played and will play both. If you're asking who I'll play first: I think a FemShep this time. Ran her through the first two games last year specifically to prepare for ME3.

When I went into ME2 with my ME1 (Bro)Shep, I figured I'd be using him as my first Shep for ME3 too, but I don't much like who he became in the course of ME2.

She works for Cerberus.

Maybe she's with the Illusive Man.

I had no issues importing my character. Maybe I changed something minor in 2 and forgot? That said, she looks kinda different, but in the same way most of the characters look kinda different. Well, human characters anyways. All Asari look the same to me. (I'm not a space racist.)

Cool, that's good to hear.

I'd guess not. IIRC ME2 didn't allow you to merely tweak, you started from scratch if you didn't like your ME1 face.

So, with the death of my 360 I will be playing on a saveless PS3.

I'm thinking of switching to Femshep, just to see what she is like.

I hope my release day delivery from Amazon gets here tomorrow or I will be crushed CRUSHED!

For some reason, they released the game soundtrack that comes with the N7 edition in WAV. It's better than releasing it in MP3, but now I have to convert it to FLAC and tag everything. At least they released the full soundtrack it seems. The ME2 N7 edition only gave you part of the soundtrack. This one has about 25 tracks.

Seriously. I'm at work and constantly updating my Twitter feed. Great launch day event!
