Mass Effect 3 Catch-All

Well as someone who really enjoyed the Mass Effect series, I can't say I'm excited about the DLC. I haven't even bothered to watch it on youtube. I had fun with the game, played it, beat it and I think I'm done. There really isn't enough there to bring me back. It would have to be all kinds of extraordinary. And to be honest, I don't think that's possible any more from the new Bioware.

Leviathan was "ok" but didn't blow my mind. It does fill in some interesting gaps in terms of the origin of the Reapers. So you might want to youtube to see what that whole business is about.

It does explain where the Reapers originally came from. I love to have these kinds of revelations, though I do realize there is nothing particularly deep or unusual (in general SF terms) about this one.

I guess it all depends on what you expect from a DLC. It's not as good as Lair of the Shadow Broker, but then that one is hard to top.

Because you're a grinder. Don't worry, just keep posting and you'll get your quote and link privileges soon enough.

You know what I found really odd about the whole series?

Medigel is never ever used in a cut-scene. Ever!

There's a paragon interrupt or two where you can use it in ME2.

It is pretty rare though.

There's at least two instances in ME3 where it would have made sense.

Spoiler:

Thane. Jacob.

So the only way to get a FULL run where I can have like Kirahhe alive in Mass Effect 3 on my PS3 is to buy ANOTHER $60 game? They couldn't just release ME1 for PS3 already?

Forget it, I'm not spending $60 bucks on this game for a THIRD time. I would certainly buy ME1 on its own for like 30 bucks for the PS3, would enjoy it, and would then probably buy the new DLCs for ME3 to do a full playthrough, but, buy a second copy of two and a third copy of three (my first ME3 disk was stuck in my old PS3 when it died)? Nooooooooo thanks.

Huh. No word on what DLC is included on the feature list there.

You'd think at least all of ME1 and ME2 DLC should be in it.

Really, a set like that should have all the DLC for ME3 too.

Not at that price when the game isn't even a year old

I wish I had this resolve, but, I'm a doormat, and a psychotic. I will get this for PS3 when it arrives.

Side question: If the PS3 was, like, dead beyond the powers of Miracle Max, why didn't you forcibly extract it?

No, not at that price. However, if I'm buying the big mac daddy of all ME3 compilations, I'd expect it to include the DLC.

Not bloody likely. I'm not as vehement of a EA hater as some people, but this is EA we're talking about. There is not mention of any DLC in the press release, and reading closely, it says 'over 75 hours of content'. I'd wager alot people had over 75 hours just between 1 & 2, without DLC.

Stele wrote:

Yeah that kinda dampens my interest. Although I think Bioware was recently on record saying that their DLC sells pretty well so not terribly surprised there. Also, no DLC in the box probably means Origin exclusive on PC.

Because my GameStop had an extra copy of the Collector's edition and I wanted that patch to complete my sweet jacket (which I still haven't finished because sewing down a sleeve is really hard and wedding stuff has taken up my "home work time" motivation.

Well crap, now I gotta buy THAT at least. Hopefully they remember to patch ME2 to accept ME1 saves for PS3 then.

Incoming:

Omega DLC on November 27th

"Omega" is said to be twice the size of all previous Mass Effect 3 DLC, allowing users to take on the role of Aria as part of a single-player campaign in which she works to retake the Omega space station from the grip of Cerberus control.

Well that was obvious DLC. Can't believe it took so long.

Yeah. I just replayed the end of Mass Effect as mentioned earlier and whenever I'd run across that character I'd wonder why we couldn't go do that.

Hmm, not sure how I feel about playing as a different character

kyrieee wrote:

I personally would enjoy that. That's part of why I was always bummed by the need to make Mass Effect a trilogy and the way the ending went. I would be happy to explore other characters in that rich universe. Also, it would be nice to explore parts of the galaxy that aren't entirely Shepard-centric.

I clicked on the source for that article and it seems like the wording that implies playing as Aria is something they came up with, so who knows.

Cheevas help me, I might buy the Trilogy for PS3. I'm like a parody of myself.

Also, sign me up for the Omega DLC.

Sounds good. Now for my planned Femshep play through to come to fruition I just have to wait for the rest of the ME3 DLC and then wait for a sale... I'm sure that's mere weeks away.

I didn't particularly like Aria, and I don't think I'll like taking time out from my Shepard story to play a character known to be ruthless.

Ground Resistance Pack just landed, including a selection of weapons for single player. Anyone have a more detailed list?

LobsterMobster wrote:

I found this:

"Groundside Resistance adds seven additional weapons to Commander Shepard's armory. It includes the brand new Venom Shotgun and Executioner Pistol plus the Kishock Harpoon Gun, Striker Assault Rifle, N7 Typhoon Assault Rifle, N7 Piranha Shotgun, and Acolyte Pistol."

Not sure if any of those are decent weapons.

Piranha is the best shotgun in the game.
