It's kind of funny that both the URL and the article title say "FLT". But exciting that iPad gets the update, too.

That's Apple for you: Flatter than Light is their new catchphrase!

You might be on to something here. I'd patent it!
I've had this game for a year or so, but only now just beat it (on easy) for the second time.
Damn this feels goooooooooooooooooooood.

Congrats! I had a similar thing - was playing constantly for weeks and finally managed to get it (on easy! ). Then I was in the zone and killing that mothership left, right and centre. After that I had a break and when I came back I haven't won once!
I had Easy difficulty down pat with a couple ships with my preferred strategy and everything. It took me so long to unlock some of the other ships that by the time I had them I was moving on to other things. This expansion is going to revitalize the game quite a bit, though I'm pretty sure I've lost my edge at this point.
100 games in, I still haven't unlocked the damn Crystal ship.
Man, all these posts in the thread had me hoping the Advanced Edition had been released.
They did release an info update though!

The goal of the Clone Bay was to really disrupt the core way you play the game. You’ll be able to send crew off into dangerous situations without fear of death... But, if a stray missile takes out the system mid-clone, you’ll find death can still be quite permanent. And you probably shouldn’t let your crew ponder too long on the fate of their previous iterations.
So we're basically playing a Cylon simulator?
First day perch, T-Prime.
Sweet! Hard mode! It sounds like the new systems will create a lot of neat interactions and options for playstyles. This update is definitely one of my most anticipated games of 2014.
Thanks for the heads up. The new systems sounds like great additions to shake things up.
I play on normal and have only reached the mother ship twice. I died both times. Still love the game, even though I don't play it as frequently in recent times.
Clone bay sounds great as a way to provide insurance against random events, but ouch, it'll be tough giving up the medbay for it because I use it mid-fight.
Whelp. There goes another year of my life.
There's your problem - your ship is full of holes.

Keep firing!
Any news on the iPad app?
I've already bought the game twice, I may as well make it a hat trick.
Reportedly "very soon" as of Friday, PT.
In case you all haven't seen it yet, Polygon has video from GDC with the two FTL developers showing off a bunch of the new content from the upcoming Advanced Edition. There is a lot of juicy stuff in there.
There's only one man who would dare give me the raspberry!
Excellent, LiquidMantis.
Comb the desert!
I got this from GOG awhile back and haven't really touched it since. What is the latest version? And how/what is the best way to patch it if I don't have the most current version (1.03.3)?
Thanks
p.s. Is there an easy way to get a Steam key to put it in my Library?
**One last thing. I see there are mods. One particular one I'm interested in is the Star Trek one. Are these easy to install? Should one not bother with these till more familiar with the game? Any other information that may be informative about the game would be appreciated.
Mods are very easy to install / uninstall, but I'd spend some time with the vanilla game first.

Thanks for the advice.
iPad version will be $10
Yay!
*checks calendar, sees it's still another week away*
Boo!
