SSX (2012) Catch-All

Higgledy wrote:

Why are they releasing Mass Effect 3, SSX and Far Cry 3 on the same day?! It's doing my head in.

FC3 as well?! I've not even been paying attention to that one. Zero marketing has reached mine eyes.

I know which two of those three i'd rather buy based on previous entries and choices of developers/publishers (hint: not ME3).

[edit]

Are you sure about that release date? I've done a quick search and I'm not seeing anything release date-wise regarding FarCry 3....

It's likely just a retailer estimate they haven't updated. There's been no news on FC3 since E3.

I found the release date in the internets somewhere. A gaming news site I think but I've been caught out by that before. It'd be great if it was coming out some other time. I'd then just have to decide between ME3 and SSX... or go crazy and buy both :).

Haha! "Enabled!"

I love everything about what I have seen for this game. Loved Trickey and 3. Already pre-ordered. If you really plan to make a serious run at this game, make sure I'm on your XBL friends list. The more competition the better

Has anyone heard anything about the PS3 exclusive "Mount Fuji" content? Will it eventually be available as DLC for 360? With the autolog-like system, I think I am going to have to go with 360 where my Goodjer friends reside. But, I would also like to not miss out on content.

The 360 Euro LE edition features Mt. Fuji, so I imagine that a DLC version for NA isn't too far behind.

I have the option for either but opted for 360 based on asynchronous multiplayer alone.

Friend request sent!

I picked up a few from the thread so far, and this is one of those games I definitely want an active friends list for, even if just for score competing!

OP has been updated with all names specifically posted so far. Please double-check to make sure you're on it and your name is spelled correctly. If you don't see yourself, post here and I'll add you!

And lets find a few more PS3 players. Poor Farley's gonna be lonely.

I'll be on 360.

I'll be getting the PS3 version for sure. Can't wait!

Yes, please! I mean I know it isn't the most popular on-line play console I still would like to beat some of you.

got you both.

I plan on getting this on day one-ish! Gamertag - Aries GWJ (I may have to do the stupid thing of trimming my friends list - why do they not fix this, already?!?)

I've got this preordered for the 360 - feel free to add me if you like.

I sent out a few Friend Requests.

A couple names from the 360 master list (OP) weren't recognized though:

MisterStatic
Shaol07

Both typos, my mistake. Should be

Mister Static (with space)

Shoal07

That's why I told people to check their names.

I'm getting this on the 360 (tag is Momgamer). I don't think I'm going to be all that "competitive" though so don't waste a space on me unless you need someone to feel superior to. I tried to play a little SSX3 last weekend and spent way too much time tasting snow. And grind rail. And tree....

Well, grind rail at least should be easier in this iteration.

I'm totes sending you a BFF request. We seem to have nearly identical taste in games.

Aw hell. I'm in. Xbox gamertag is TanglebonesGWJ.

You know since they have that "on-line" thing where you see a ghost of the other person's run while you are doing your it would be great if they could have that work cross platform. It isn't like my PS3 and your 360 need to actually exchange data. You simply upload your data so I should be able to access it. I am sure there is some technical reason I am not aware of why this wouldn't work but it feels like it should.

The huge problem I see would be getting the two user account systems to talk to one another enough to know who to show which ghost to. FF11 has a cross-platform system like that and it has been a technical nightmare from what I understand

I felt the same way too until I started playing Forza 4's Rivals Mode (asynchronous score-chasing that will be in SSX) with the Auto Club that GWJ setup.

I'm pretty mild-mannered and not into online multi, but damn if "offline competitive multiplayer (w/ online rivals)" didn't bring out a wild streak of fierce competition in me. It was pretty bad-ass, really.

Hey, we found you two other friends to play with. And there's still time.

List is up-to-date, and I just sent out a ton of friend requests myself. Were I you, I'd check my XBL/PSN account fairly frequently over the next few weeks to approve (or deny) friend requests.

I think they would have to create their own log in system so I could log in on my PS3 and see people who uploaded a 360 run and that would be a pain because who wants to manage yet another online identity? However it just fees like the data should be the same for each upload so you should be able to take that data and display it on either system.

I already had to cull the friends list a little. Fortunately I just culled the XBLGroups I had on my list, but next step will be having to actually drop people, which I don't want to do!

100 just isn't enough, crazy as that sounds.

Sorry, I stepped away for a few minutes...

Per CheapAssGamer, SSX is $44.99 at Toys R Us

Edit: and Newegg

I'm getting the 360 version too. Thanks for updating the OP, this'll make adding friends much easier.

EDIT: And friend invites all sent. I'm so hyped for this, I can't wait!

Nice, that's even less than their previous listing of $48!
