Interesting Kickstarter Catch-All

Battle Chess

So are there any other seminal PC game from the 80s or early 90s that hasn't seen a new iteration Kickstarted yet? The well seems to be running dry...

Ultima, Wizard's Crown, Alternate Reality, Roadwar 2000...

I was going to say Carmageddon, but I know it's already being developed. Wouldn't be surprised if it ended up on Kickstarter, though. And I'd donate to that about as fast as I could.

Lode Runner, Lode Runner's Rescue, Temple of Apshai, Boulderdash, Blue Max, MULE, Karateka, The Eidolon, Autoduel, Jumpman, Telengard, Joust....

I was going to say Archon but that was remade not long ago. I guess MULE was sort of too.

Battle Chess needs more high-tier brackets. Projects usually don't meet $100,000 with only $25,000 coming from big donations.

That's true too, although I've seen a bunch of higher reward tiers go unused for projects so that's not always a guarantee of success. As much as I enjoyed playing Battle Chess as a kid, a new one doesn't exactly pluck at my heartstrings.

I think Stainless makes plenty of money from Duels of the Planeswalkers that they probably won't need Kickstarter. Also, they could probably release the old games on GOG and make a chunk of money from that as well.

I've been expecting this one from the industry for a while now. Or at least a reprise of Interstate 76.

Heh, did not know that. Doubt it'll be much like the original, which was fun, but was rather repetitive.

Contra!

Commander Keen please.

Our new Kickstarter is up - it's for a recording of Danish classical music by Grammy-nominated composer Poul Ruders; we've got a young soprano from the Metropolitan Opera to sing on it, and a kick-ass orchestra, so we're really excited!

Dude, you are not effectively guilting your internet friends for support. It looks like it's a bit of an uphill climb for you guys- best of luck!

Not sure if this has been posted or not: CThulhu Knitted Ski Mask:

Also, any idea what Billy Berghammer's involvement with Republique is?

FIGHT CHURCH

This looks like an interesting documentary. I know we have some religious folks here and I used to be myself. I always thought it was a little baffling to hear that certain Christian groups have embraced MMA fighting. It would be interesting to hear them justify it, and the people making it look like pretty talented folks who aren't looking to bash anyone, at least based on the project description.

I am in on Ogre. Probably have to play it at someone else's house though.

So, what`s the problem with the République kickstarter? Why isn't it more popular you guys think?

For me I think it was sold as a mobile game first and foremost and I'd be hard pressed to pay/donate/pledge more than 20$ for that kind of game, no matter how good it looks. So I think perhaps the advantage other Kickstarters had was that people were willing to pledge more.

Anyways, any thoughts?

The name might get in the way, too. From just seeing the title, I guessed it was some sort of casual fashion idea.

I know Mark Driscoll is in on that. He and I disagree on a lot of things.

Filthy skimming.

A steampunk Pathfinder campaign setting: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/....

Less than two days left.

15 hours left for Starlight Inception and it's finally getting a little momentum. I've got a soft spot for space action games and hope they make it.

Well, now that Ogre is funded how about Car Wars?

I'll just leave this here.

Well, I don't see Tim Schafer offering remote martial arts training.

It's based on a popular classic sports video game that was made 40 years ago

It's Joust isn't it? Do I win a prize?

But does this guy learn stuffs super lightning fast? That's what I want to know.

Where to start? At least they only want $1,500.

Love the $5,000 tier reward.
May have to put some money toward this one.

Nice hole with a DP.

That something some dumb would even be an option for backing doesn't help the cred earned by some other projects. I agree with Patrick Klepek (saw where he tweeted this earlier) that they must not even be trying to pretend to vet with something like this up.

Based on his youtube channel, he should do a kickstarter for a martial arts dvd.
