Anki Vector - robot companion

I had to work pretty hard to keep myself from backing that one. Fortunately for my wallet, Vector really doesn't actually do much yet. Also, his voice sucks.

JUST BECAUSE I’M UNEMPLOYED AND DON’T TALK GOOD DOESN’T MEAN YOU CAN RAG ON ME!

You hardly know me...

FWIW, I think you’re awesome.

Awwww, thanks!

Now that I think about it, unrestricted access to your sight, hearing, voice and an SDK to manipulate them sounds like fun. Evin laugh.....

Alright so I have been putting this off for the longest time. Even my meds can’t dull the anxiety this is creating. Just a draft so it isn’t live yet, but what does the GWJ hive mind think? Pricing was a big thing that I waffled on a bit. I wanted to go lower to make it more attainable but In the end I decided to not sell myself short. To high you think?

*status update* It was declined...

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Dude.... your art is AMAZING. I LOVE it, and I'm not just saying that, I really like it. The Day of the Dead picture you use is fantastic.

Some feedback:
First, it's not entirely clear what the purpose of the kickstarter is for. Is it to get you a shipping container or something to use as an art studio? Is it just to sell your art? You should expand both the description and the title to help say what, exactly, you're kickstarting for.

Second, in your tiers, you say, "I will create a acrylic pour for you on canvas." and, since I'm not an artist, two questions come to mind. First, what's a "pour"? And second, does the backer get to choose the image? Is this a commission? More of a print? Some additional detail would be great.

Third, regarding pricing, I think they're very reasonable, but there's some typos, I'm pretty sure. For example, $80 gets you a "Abstract acrylic painting 9" by 9"", but then $100 gets you an "Abstract acrylic painting 9" by 9"". I suspect you meant 18" in the second one? But since the 9" painting was more expensive than the 9" pour, I'm guessing you didn't mean the 18" painting to be the same price as the 18" pour.

And finally, don't forget to factor in shipping for your tubes. Maybe take some of the correct sizes to the post office and just see how much it would be to ship. I'd hate for you to lose money on shipping + insurance + whatever else if you ship outside the US.

Let me know if any of that isn't clear, you've got some great art here, and I'd really like to see you succeed!

Thank you, really appreciate the feedback Taharka! Also glad you like my art, means a lot to me. I did a few early bird deals on some of the paintings. 1 each of each size. The acrylic pours are literally just that. Take a bunch of colors and mix them and pour for trippy effects. The paintings are what takes me some time to do so I charge more for them. All in all I need to do a better job explaining it, forgot to do the K.I.S.S. Method (keep it simple stupid.) I think what I will do is make another video explaining the differences. I see now I have the same vid twice which isn’t helpful.
Good point on shipping too. Thanks again Taharka!

As an aside I hope this works cause I have been working on a board game too.

Great looking art! I would include some examples of "pours" so backers can see examples of what they would be getting.

Yeah. I know it is mentioned in the video, but who has time to watch that?

No, really, an example of one or two in the body of the page would help a lot.

Thanks Karmajay and Mantid. Both good points and duly noted. Will do!

I'm sorry. Did they give you feedback why?

Yeah this is the second time for me. Will refine and resubmit.

Here’s why:
Projects focused on raising funds for general business expenses are not allowed on Kickstarter. However, if a project is focused on a specific, creative endeavor that offers a finite experience, product or thing that can be shared with others, then the business expenses may be baked into the project’s overall financial goals.

So pretty much instead of help me get a creative space, it is I just want to make art.

Maybe Patreon or Etsy or Artstation might be better methods, depending on what sort of income model you are looking for.

I haven’t heard of artstation, will check it out. Thanks Mixolyde!

Etsy I could definitely see for this kind of project - selling art, essentially.

Well I got it accepted but I think I was to ambitious with my pricing. Oh well.

Abstract Art.

Cool. Aaaaaand backed.

Thank you so much Keithustus. You are awesome!

Anywhere in the world, you say?!... Kickstarter says only in the US.

Yeah I changed it last minute cause the cost to ship to various places was insane. I thought tubes would be cheap and easy but it was $152 and some change for the 36 x 36.

Book: For the Love of Board Games, interviews with many designers, so there should be at least one behind a favorite board game of everyone's:

Starcadia Quest is up now.

That's Arcadia Quest with a space theme?

Yes, but I thought I read there were some gameplay differences as well. I haven't read the campaign page yet.

Yup, this'll be tied for my most expensive crowdfunding campaign next to Star sh*tizen.

A complete Tarot deck evoking the 72 Demons of the Goetia and 6 Grand Princes of Hell.
My primary goal in crafting the design of the Demon-Possessed Tarot was to create a deck that captured the essence of every demon of the Goetia and trapped them in the cards. The cards are meant to look like they are authentic copies from a deck created in the 1600s by a conjurer and then hidden away in the wall of a castle for four hundred years.

The cards are aged with wrinkles, rips, and discoloration. Some cards have holes where fire or ash has burned through. One card is even spattered with blood, suggesting the conjurer failed to protect themselves against a violent demonic entity. These are all graphic enhancements, of course, the cards themselves are pristine!

This deck feels ancient and mystical--imbued with real magic--making each card truly unique with a life all its own.
