Interesting Kickstarter Catch-All

off-brand Shadowrun-esque boardgame, Nightlancer. Thought it looked quite promising.

I can't imagine it cleaning off the wall that easily. Actual whiteboards get really messy after a while; I can't see how this won't be worse.

I'm not sure why it has to hang in the middle of the image it has drawn. I don't want to stare at the wall-roomba; it's just in the way.

Edible Games Cookbook by Jenn Sandercock, one of the designers and producers of Thimbleweek Park.

My edible games are a series of fabulous and delicious food experiences to play with friends and family. Think of it as "tasty treats meet good, old-fashioned fun". Some of them are sweet, others are savoury, and they all have one thing in common—you can eat the pieces. In fact, it’s required!

You might be required to crack a secret code that’s baked into cream puffs; keep a straight face while eating something gross; conjure up a delectable morsel from a mishmash of ingredients; perform "sacred", food-related rituals; test your memory and taste buds; or even eat your vegetables!

And that's only half of the games you'll get in the Edible Games Cookbook. The food isn't just a delicious treat on the side, it's a vital part of playing the game.

Good find. Did not know about that.

Has there been a single thing emanating from “Atari” in the past 20 years that we’re not full of skeeviness? Apologies if my time frame is too short.

Nope. Its just getting passed around from one horrible VC group to another. Save yourselves some brain space and consider the Atari name just a brand from your childhood.

One of the best visually looking board games I have encountered.

every time I see that game the little illustration pixie that lives in my brain pulls several of her levers and DEMANDS that I immediately put money down on it, but i 've spent WAY too much on this stuff in the last little while and I need to draw the line somewhere! Maybe next time!

The pledges that get you the enormous mini are already all sold out. Good grief.

This was the strangest campaign launch I've ever witnessed (though, I'm admittedly new to Kickstarter). CMON claimed they wouldn't be doing Early Bird pledges, but the way they handled the giant Cthulhu expansion, it SCREAMS early bird. By increasing the costs for later pledges, as well as pushing out the shipping date, for the same exact things as the earlier, cheaper pledges, is EXACTLY what early bird pledges are.

I'm tempted by two things on this one...the theme and the designers. I've never played a Lang game, but I've always enjoyed Rob's work. Still, though...$250 is a LOT of money...and not shipping until April 2020...probably gonna pass on this one.

F'ing Cthulhu people, how hard is it to realize you might want to get a license to an IP before attempting to sell a game based on it?

This is the downside to Kickstarter being open to everyone, even the least intelligent among us.

Not quite as exciting as unlicensed games related to a 10 year old online musical, but this just launched: Tales of Dungeons and Doggies. A set of D&D character classes as dog breeds. The sculptor works on Steamforged Games' products, and does really good work. The detail on the plastic models is fairly high, and the cost isn't crazy.

Only a few days left on this one i LOOOOOVE the artwork on the cards and tiles. (also would be handy for D&D stuff, obvs)

Does it make me a bad person that I kind of really want this even though it is an incredible waste of money?

I had to close the tab after a person actually "fistbumped" that tiny toy.

Unstable Unicorns: Control & Chaos (The Backercorn Project)

We love Unstable Unicorns. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't.

My buddy Zac Pierce has launched his Kickstarter for Bombfest which is a 4 player party game which sort of plays like a physics based Bomberman. Toss bombs around to blast the other players and items in the world off the map.

Zac has been bringing Bombfest to local game dev meetups for several years, and honestly I thought it was a fully polished game years ago, but he's continued to work on it and perfect it, and it is awesome. Glad to see he finally has a release date on it. Every time he brings it, there's always a 4 player rumble going on with each of us shouting "I've got next" to get in on the action.

Yup, I'm totally in for this one:

But as it's not for everyone, how about a game that looks neat? Certainly looks polished.

Those are some nice coins! I know some folks who will be all in on this. Thanks for pointing it out, Taharka.

Full credit and thanks to Pyxistyx for making me aware of this promising gem:

I had to work pretty hard to keep myself from backing that one. Fortunately for my wallet, Vector really doesn't actually do much yet. Also, his voice sucks.
