Interesting Kickstarter Catch-All

Welp, I may have found the dumbest Kickstarter ever...

DipClip: An in-car holder for ketchup & dipping sauces

I mean... WTF? This thing is funded already?

IMAGE(https://ksr-ugc.imgix.net/assets/019/181/296/1344391dccae43b5fa9d56b8676f71e3_original.gif?w=680&fit=max&v=1510448528&auto=format&gif-q=50&q=92&s=dc15d2b1875baab493a81a3aaa4ebcea)

This is so confusing to me because I don't eat in my car. Kickstarter even had it as a featured project.

Is the person using their left hand from the driver's seat (NA left side)? If so, I assume they are sending a text with their right hand while checking themselves out in the rear view mirror, because that would be the poster child for a good percentage of drivers on the road.

I occasionally eat in my car and thus can see the use of it, but if your chicken nuggets need a dipping sauce then you have failed at chicken nuggets. Probably more useful for people that have to do long commutes (grabbing dinner on the way home from a 1 hour drive home) or where driving is their profession (truck drivers).

I rarely (never) eat chicken nuggets, but when I do (which is never), I sure as heck don't dip them in ketchup.

I am not backing that dip clip, but the next time I eat fries in my car, I'm sure I'll wish I had one. Hell, I'm kind of starting to talk myself into it now...

In board games, the Nemo's War second edition reprint / expansion has 33 hours left.

I am now on the Dip Clip KS page reading all about it.

I don't understand how you would do anything other than drive when you're in the driver's seat...........

Well when you live in a country whose public transportation is anywhere from trash to non-existent and have long distances to travel...

I just did a Google Image Search for "Typical American Driver" and this was the image in the top left corner. I s**t you not:

We can't even convince people to wear their seatbelts, much less that they aren't as good at multitasking as they think they are...

Also, I think the Kickstarter is being optimistic on how soon they can deliver, especially since their page didn't mention anything about how or where they would have the final product injection molded. At a guess, they also haven't accounted for Chinese New Year (assuming that's where they're sending the manufacturing), which falls smack in the middle of their production timeline. No skin off my back though.

Well I'm not typical then...

Take all that stuff, minus the cigarettes, and throw it all over the back seat. That's what my brother's car used to look like. Especially the Frappuccino bottles.

I'm shocked to hear that there may be entire cultures which have cars but don't eat in them.

Recently, on my way to work, I happened to glance to the right and the driver next to me had a cell phone in his left hand, a shaver in the right, and was talking while shaving himself in the rear view.

I have also seen someone eating cereal from a bowl with a spoon and way too many women applying eye makeup at 70 mph. It's amazing we have as few traffic fatalities as we do.

Self-driving cars NOW!

It took years before BMW even put cup holders in their cars. The first ones were laughable flimsy pop out trays that barely did their job.

Guy could be a twin for my ex father-in-law who was also a truck driver.

I had those pop out cup holders and they sucked. At least one broke that I remember but got it replaced under warranty.

You are joking Robear but we just bought a new X1 and the cup holders in it are tiny. Smaller than any car I have ever had. Can not handle 32 oz takeout drinks or the fatter camelbak water bottles. Kind of annoying.

If only the car came with specially-sized and branded water bottles.

Drink your dipping sauce with a straw like a NORMAL person.

Holy Stromboli! Jeremy Soule finally released his Kickstarter album after almost five years of waiting.

I downloaded it, but haven’t listened yet. I’m not sure I’m even keen to because he was so non-communicative during all that time. He lost a lot of goodwill over this. He is one of the reasons I stopped supporting Kickstarters.

I suggest enjoying it for what it is. God knows we all need some kickstarter to fail before we realize how fickle the whole thing really is, and as a bonus yours was just a delayed success!

I want to highlight a visual novel up on kickstarter right now.
Perceptions of the Dead 2
I just finished playing the first game (free on steam, by the way. It's short, 75 minutes to get through the whole thing) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This actually looks pretty amazing:

UBOOT - a historical game of undersea warfare

Think Star Trek Bridge Crew meets WW2.

Captain Sonar sounds pretty close, minus the companion app.

They actually address the similarities to Captain Sonar and XCOM in the FAQ. Having never played either of those, I don't know either way.

That looks awesome! I mean other than having to play as a Nazi.

Has anyone been following Nemesis? It looks like a lot of fun, although I may have already reached my limit of co-op/light betrayal games.
