Giant Bombcast - Best comedic timing ever. The way they just roll off each other is pretty amazing. Sure do miss the Wii-ware/DSI-ware weekly roundup, though.

You may want to check out the Nintendownload X-press. All Aboard!

Am I the only one who was glad that got forcibly ejected from the main podcast?

I'm glad he was so outwardly bitter about it for weeks afterwards.

Yes.

Yeah, that bit was good, but to me it sounded like he was about as tired of doing it as I was of listening to it prior to that happening. The last time I'd enjoyed it was when Jeff Green was there.

Jeff Green always seems to be able to add something special to the mix for sure!

I actively disliked it. For a two hour show they struggled to fit in emails. I wouldn't have minded if they did one game a week but 30 minutes? Saying that I listen to the Nintendownload X-press. I just admire how far the joke is going. The readings are still terrible though.

And yes Jeff green is awesome. Any news when that popcap podcast was coming up.

The first couple episodes of Nintendownload X-press episodes are kind of hilarious because he tries to trick other people into being on the show. I'm pretty happy it's separate now though.

I'm happy that it's separate, but that podcast sure is funny. The latest one, with Jeff's take on Steam, is pure comedy gold.

The first episode of Geekbox that I listened to, they spoiled the hell out of TV shows I was only a couple of episodes behind on with little to no warning. I unsubscribed.

I learned that lesson early when they ruined a season of LOST for me. I unsubscribed. I thought I'd go back when LOST was over but I never did. I wonder if they realise how many listeners that kind of thing cost them.

My podcast pet peeve is someone saying "spoiler" followed half a breath later by some information that I'm trying my hardest to pause/ff past to avoid. At least give me time to get to whatever's playing the podcast to take some action.

HATE. So inconsiderate of listeners. We can't all be 100% up to speed on all geek media.

They did you a favor IMO.

I'm with you. And what I hate even more is when they state a spoiler and then say "spoiler" right afterward. The Geekbox sucks in that way. I can understand when this happens on accident but to rub the listener's face in it isn't called for.

And by the way on the next geekbox podcast all of them go F themselves, spoiler.

This week's was pretty special, too: Ryan's take on Jeff. My favorite NDX moment was actually an early ep. when the game's description was so absurd that he actually broke character and started talking about how dumb it was.

The funny thing is it's not exactly like a podcast goes out live.

I don't get it. Your point?

You don't know all the content of a particular podcast before you listen to it. So it's kind of hard to avoid with no warning.

I think he's implying that it wouldn't be too difficult for them to edit after they record.

That makes sense. True.

Yeah, the "oh, yeah, that was a spoiler, I guess" comment in a podcast bugs me for that very reason.

I don't care much about spoilers but there were a few times when I'm like that was insanely stupid revealing that. Spoiler warning for Fight Club

Spoiler:

For instance they revealed that Norton and Tyler were the same person but then said spoilers then revealed the end. WTF?

Podcast editing is already a tough gig, from what I know. I'd like editors to be able to do more, but I'm more than appreciative of the work they do already.

The secret of good spoiler warnings is that the hosts have the idea that they don't want to spoil games or movies for people at the front of their minds. It is possible to give spoilers accidentally and even to give a post spoiler spoiler warning accidentally but you can usually tell when people are trying to be spoiler sensitive and when they just don't care (or presume that, now X amount of time has passed, 'everyone' has seen or played the title in question so it doesn't matter.)

I tend to think that a lot of game spoilers aren't really spoilers at all, personally.

Yeah, this week's was awesome. I especially liked the list of segments that Ryan read.

It can be tedious but it's a lot of fun. Editing/producing an hour-long podcast is usually a ~3 hour affair depending on the production needed. It's actually a lot more taking out "ums, uhs", and awkward gaps in the conversation than one might expect.

I'm not hyper militant about it, but I think it was RebelFM that spoiled the ME2 Shadow Broker ending for me recently. I still plan to play that and the other DLC closer to ME3. I was quite irritated.

I know other people are worse than I am, and these podcasters always take a lot of grief for it too, so should at least try to respect their listeners as much as they can with reasonable warning when they are going to talk about stuff.

I'm trying to figure out if I'm dreading or excited about Leigh Alexander: The Drunkening Returneth in this year's Giant Bomb E3 podcasts.

Surely there will be safety barriers in place this time, right? They won't just let her run riot? Right?

Dreading. Definitely dreading.

They'll make her wear a bra.

I thought they'd have some safety barriers last year after the year before, so I'd guess not. But, who knows? Maybe third time's the charm?

I think they take the whole thing a lot less seriously than the users. They'll likely give her free reign again, and I'll be somewhat annoyed but thoroughly entertained.

I lol'd.

Same. She can be loud and obnoxious, but the shows have still always been pretty hilarious.
