Anybody still active and in a CC?

The GWJ CC was abandoned quite awhile ago. Some folks went to another one, but
that went to the wayside too. I personally haven't played in about a month or so, but
I will try and brush up and if I see you on we can play a round or two.

That would be great. I restarted a club on 360 -- "GWJ Stan". Will keep an eye out for you.

Joined up. See there's a tourney starting tomorrow.-Thanks

Excellent. I will check in tomorrow for the tourney.

Tried to get in the tourney. Says I am ineligible. Apparently the tourney is for club champions or club leaders and the club is too new/small or something. Not really all that clear. Were you able to play in the tourney?

Yes. As Club owner, u can go in and create as many as u like with particular set-up rules and dates.

Ahh, didn't realize I had to go to the website. Set up a tourney for today/tomorrow on Augusta. Pro rules, I think. 1 round. Sound ok to start?

All of a sudden scrunched for time. B out of town most the day. But got the round in this morning before I left. Augusta is such a beautiful course. But gads those greens w/out the grid is a b****:)

Yup. I'll get the round in today. Next time we can have the grid.

I am not going to win with 2.2 putts per hole. I believe I ended at +7. With Donan's -2, it wasn't really a contest. It was my first time without the grids and it showed. Painful.

Donan, thanks for finding the time to get in the round. I've made you an admin for the club (for whatever that is worth).

It was fun and I was kidding about the grid (sorta;) It's hard to get down and really see the green. But then again, using the putt preview without the grid is a more realistic challenge imho.

About my score, remember I've been playing longer most like, and therefore my skills are higher from being raised. Plus having better equipment by meeting goals and such in game, which also gives me a slight edge. You can always make it so I have a higher handicap to level that out when setting up a game (I think).

Fun nonetheless. I used to get killed by Jayhawker (and others), who's really a 'player' (i.e. he really get's to know a game and play's them allot to do so).

Hopefully we can get together to play a game head-to-head. I don't think I ever got to do that, but then I
may have just forgotten. I'd like to see how that works. I really having lot's of fun with Links back in the day with other GWJ'ers.

I should really pick this up again.

Absolutely! (I guess I like getting slammed...*chuckle*)

Tough weekend for me playing time wise. Should be back in the saddle next week.

Really enjoyed playing the tourney though. Jayhawker, come on back!

Looks like GWJ Stan CC is a false start. I'll still play ever so often, so if someone is in for a hth in or out of CC pm me to try and set something up or as always just S-O if online to play.

I am on a business trip (back Friday) but would still want to play...

Sure! Sry, maybe my comment was premature. My bad.

I just listed another daily tournament for today/tomorrow (starting at the top of the hour). Not sure you can make it, but wanted to get something posted.

I tend to pick up one of these games every 4 or so years on the cheap and just started playing 13. I'm just looking for some advice since the game kind of expects you to know the mechanics off the bat.

If I'm in the rough or a bunker and the meter is showing I need to hit it 90% to get to the hole does that mean I need to hit it exactly 90% or do I need to club up and hit it harder to account for the resistance caused by the terrain? Is this the same for putting with the red line and slopes?

Also, I'm always getting "slow" on my swing read. I'm kind of confused as to how to read that meter so I don't know what part I need to fix. Back Swing, forward swing, or the transition?

Should I hold my hand on the thumb stick up for the follow through or is it OK to let go after making contact with the ball?

Anything near 90%. As in real golf it takes practice. I actually found hitting out of the bunker to be very forgiving most the time.

Also, I'm always getting "slow" on my swing read. I'm kind of confused as to how to read that meter so I don't know what part I need to fix. Back Swing, forward swing, or the transition?

Again practice. Remember theirs a driving range part of the game to not only practice, but if you tend to hook or slice allot, you can 'fix' your swing in their to compensate. Basically as I read somewhere you go somewhat slow in back swing and then fast on forward...real golf like.

Should I hold my hand on the thumb stick up for the follow through or is it OK to let go after making contact with the ball?

I don't think it matters if I remember correctly. I usually just went all the way forward and released when it would go any farther (I'm sure there's some 'follow thru' aspect so you don't want to release stick to soon.)

Thanks for the tips. I played some more of this over the weekend and this version seems allot easier to mess up a shot then previous versions. I will try to slowing down my back swing.

Anyone pick up TW 2014 and interested in starting a CC?
