Yup. There are several areas where you can just sprint through and then pick off the psychos that kept up. The 'aggro' borders are actually a bit buggy. I've run into several situations where if I'm bouncing between adjacent encampments the enemies just lose interest and ignore me unless I take a shot at them. Even if they have to path around me.

So many nights I have left the game running in the background and picked back up the next day. It's kind of surreal, actually.

I should have done that this morning!!! ARGH!

What should I do with this pizza I took from his party? I've been carrying it around for hours now and I'm sure it's starting to turn

I'm getting really annoyed with the fact that when you quit out you always start back at a fast travel station. Some of the dungeons are too much to do in one sitting, possibly because I'm not very good at this game and I spend ages looking around for things to open.

I had to leave my Xbox on this morning. Hope it doesn't explode before I get home from work.

exactly what im talking about . i cant even get into sanctuary because of the stupid saving system on this game. It's a real pisser.

Definitely agree with this! In this day and age, if you don't let me save and continue from wherever I am, you are really not respecting my time.

Reluctantly I will try leaving my game client minimized and see if this works. I hate to think that I will lay for an hour (without reaching a spawn point!?) and set the game on "pause" and minimized only to come home and find it crashed.
I fear that will be the day that the game gets uninstalled out of frustration. We don't all have 2+ hours to devote to a game each time we sit to play. I guess that's when you don't get into a game. Luckily this one was free with my video card.

It's really too bad though, I am really enjoying it and will continue to play. it really just pissed the hell out of me when a company makes a decision like this.

Just finished the level 20 plot mission at level 18 and the level 19 mission at 16. The difficulty feels about right at 2-3 levels under par. Enemies do a lot of damage to you, but you can also do a lot of damage to them as Zero by popping out of nowhere with a shotgun or melee attack.

So, I got killed on the mutate the bugs quest in Tundra Express, and the big mutated bug despawned. The quest marker is just in the center of the area--should I let the little bugs go into their cocoons and hope it shows up again, or is there another technique?

Yeah, you just need to go up to the cacoons and hit E. Then you'll get mutated versions.

Everything generally respawns if you quit and come back, but there are like 4-5 bug camps in that area.. maybe more. Just go to a different one. I've had them despawn.. or accidentally kill all of the little buggers or the cocoon.

2+ hours played tonight without even touching the main quest line. At 26 (and just checked, 50! hours behind tuffalo) hours total played with a level 22 commando, I've only played solo still, trying to take in all the dialogue, which is much better than I remember in the first Borderlands. It seems the only way to play solo is by going commando ; I have had to retreat to the safety of my turret's shield plenty of times during encounters.

Also:

Spoiler:

rat thieves, f*ck those guys.

I've been playing solo with the Siren having a lot of fun, currently level 17 or 18 in the Tundra Express area.

My Brother-in-law picked up the game so I started a Gunzerker and not sure if its the multi-player scaling or I'm just not playing the zerker right, but I'm having a lot harder time in multiplayer. Just got to sanctuary and so its not like I'm far in. My shields get depleted very quickly. Maybe I just figure the zerker should be a tank and I just go in guns a blazin, but its not working. Activating the dual wield is fun and all but its not that useful because the weapons I have gotten have either horrible aim (can't use right mouse when activated) or have low magazine amounts so I dont' feel its that effective.

Is multiplayer really that much harder or am I doing something wrong? The only other thing is that because I'm kind of playing catch up with my brother-in-law I've been skipping side quests on the multi-player playthru, so maybe I'm not leveling ahead of the story quests? Not sure. Right now I'm hoping my he just plays his char a lot to catch up to my siren then I'll have fun on multiplayer.

Me too - absolutely murderering everything as a Solo Siren Sniper. Level 28 at the moment, just recruited "Slab" and have a bunch more side quests open up!

Naaa.... Gunzerkers are really vurnerable and die a lot. They sort of rely on Sirens to use Res.

The Gunzerker seems like the least well thought out class. There's fun to be had but it's supposed to be a tank and you melt in five seconds even with damage mitigation skills.

I think it's possible to spec him like a tank, but it would take quite a few levels to do so.

Gunzerker is a tank? Thought that was the Commando's job. Just finished the first walkthrough with my Gunzerker, and I've been playing him as heavy DPS. Damage mitigation through mowing targets down faster than they can drop me. I've been putting most of my points into reducing the cooldown on the Zerking.

With the way my melee Zer0 is progressing, it seems inevitable that he will eventually enter one of two possible scenarios: either he'll reach this god like mode where he can drop his special skill and level the entire room within seconds, a disappointingly boring outcome that can't stay cool for more than three encounters, or he'll lack enough damage to kill anything in a single hit and be too fragile to justify a melee-oriented playstyle, in which case I'll be forced to ask myself why I put all those points into melee.

One thing I've found that's helped a bit with Gunzerker is to get a pair of good Hyperion pistols. Hyperion because of firing increasing accuracy, and pistols because they reload fast enough that the accuracy bonus doesn't decay between reloads. It lets you increase your engagement range by quite a bit while in the dual-wielding mode, which in turn increases survivability. Even so, while gunzerking and stacking as much health-regen as I can, I still feel pretty damn fragile.

I prefer Vladof Anarchist pistols, the high rate of fire, decent sized magazines, good reload and good accuracy worked well for me. Chews through ammo, though, so invest in some max pistol ammo count upgrades at the Black Market.

re coop versus single player:
maybe it's just the people I play with, but they are such totally different experiences for me. In coop, it ends up being this crazy leroy jenkins style charge towards the diamond on the minimap (which we can generally get away with because there's someone else to rez you if you go down) whereas with single player I find myself being much more considered and actually doing stuff like kiting.

I logged in for the first time in days last night, and then my heart dropped. The title screen didn't show my Gunzerker, so I knew immediately I had the Badass wipe bug. Loaded him up and confirmed it. That about killed my night. Looks like I won't be playing for a while.

Fortunately, there's still some Borderlands to be had. I never finished the last two DLC packs in the first game. So while Gearbox tries to fix the issue, I'll finish up a pile game. The games are incredibly similar but for three things: the inventory screen, AI, and the PC port integration. I almost forgot that you need to tweak the .ini files to get an optimal play experience.

Well, efff. That sucks. Can you not play at all because of that bug? I totally understand staying away in frustration. I'll definitely help you power level when things are fixed and you feel like coming back to it. Also, I don't mind firing up Borderlands 1 if you want someone to play with. The DLC is where that game really shined.

So, my Xbox didn't melt, and I finally reached a fast travel station, but it turned out to be a one way deal and I didn't notice. So I ended up losing my place anyway, after nearly two hours of fighting bandits.

Alright, I'll take you up on that at some point. I've gone through most of Knoxx before, but because I was co-oping with a session that was a step ahead of mission, I never got credit. Not looking forward to all those highways again.

More golden key codes for those interested:

PC: CT5TB-H3ZX9-6TTBJ-JT33J-TFJRK
360: WB5T3-JS3W6-JRXTX-KR333-FTXBZ
PS3: WB5T3-JS3Z3-RSTWT-SJ533-FTXBT

PC worked for me this morning.

Great! Knoxx is the best. Especially when you use the glitch that lets you explore the armory without the timer crunch. I can help with the highways driving because I know my way around pretty well. Just hit me up whenever.

360 code just worked for me. I think they'll be up for one more hour.
