Borderlands 2 Catch-All

Roland was my main man in BL, so it's Axton all the way in BL2.

I am so going with a Dual Sabre Turret build to start.

EDIT: I can't get over how awesome it is that you can make the turret stick to walls and ceilings. So awesome!

I don't mean to be a negative nancy... because it really will be awesome!
Spoiler:
IF the terrain actually supports that feature in a way that makes it relevant. I'm thinking of the Borderlands levels and sure, there are a few places where a turret with a bit of elevation would have been helpful... but MORE helpful would be a turret with 360 degree range! What good is longbow + sticky if the turret will be facing the wrong way? Fingers crossed! (I refuse to watch any gameplay vids at this point.)

There were definitely some indoor parts of the first game where turret on ceiling would have been useful.

The first time I saw that turret skill, I had the same concern about how often the game environment would allow for it to even be used, not to mention actually being useful.

I agree that the addition of 360° shooting would be great. In fact, I'd rather have that than deploying a forward-shooting turret on a wall or ceiling.

They may be 360 by default, they have that TF2 Sentry look about them. Although honestly, I played Roland so little in the first Borderlands, I didn't even realise his wasn't 360.

I think from what I saw in the Giant Bomb video that the turret can swing around 360 degrees. They were throwing it behind some enemies with shields up front so that it could shoot them from behind.

Season Pass is 22.50 at GMG with code GMG25-1BW0K-K1A3G

Any West Coast 360 players out there? I'm very interested in this game and may resort to playing with pubbies but I'd prefer a good group of GWJ's.

I am not west coast, but I rarely play before 8 or 9 pm Central, so I maybe fit your schedule.

I don't usually start playing before 7 PM CST but I will sometimes play until 11 or even midnight.

Yeah, I'm usually on between 9 PM and 11 PM Pacific which is getting plenty late for the rest of the country.

Just took advantage of the crazy GMG deal, so I'm on board with the Borderlands loot train again. Somebody add me to the steam group, it's skag hunting time!

Invite sent!

I'm a big damn dummy and hesitated on the MS Online Store deal for the 360 version ($10 gift card + 1600 point card) just long enough for it to be sold out when I went back.

Amazon is offering a $10 card for console versions.

Any better deals out there?

Kmart will give you a $15 gaming coupon with purchase of the console version. Whether that is actually a better deal probably depends on Amazon's tax collection status in your state and whether you place more value in $15 gaming credit at Kmart or $10 at Amazon.

Since it says Steam is required, I don't have to worry about this DLC not working if I bought the game directly through Steam do I?

BL2 is a Steamworks game, so no worries there at all.

The other factor for Amazon is if you have Prime or not. If you don't have Prime, it'll cost another $5 to get it on day one.

I don't have Prime but I decided to stick with Amazon anyway for convenience's sake.

I'm still shaking my head over passing up the sweet MS Online deal, but no matter. Officially stoked for Tuesday!

I am in Alaska so I am an hour behind PST so I can be hit up to play a round or 2 if anyone wants.

I'm pretty sure it's going to work out just fine for me to take a couple vacation days on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dibs on the Siren! Just recently got my xbox, if anyone on XBLA needs a fourth to play with, hit me up.

I guess I don't actually need to worry about this. It wasn't until today that I even stopped to consider whether I could run the game on my PC. My PC is not new (5 years maybe) and not top of the line at the time, though serviceable to be sure. I visited http://www.systemrequirementslab.com... and it turns out that I cannot. The game requires a minimum of a 2.4 GHz dual core and I have a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz. So, that sucks. I already bought the game, so at least I have it for some day (years from now) when I can play it.

I'll be sure to stop being excited about getting to play the game now.

Eh. That's close enough that I'd try it anyway.

Yeah, your video card is gonna be way more important.

You're giving me an inkling of hope again. I hope that Borderlands 2 doesn't Lucy the football away at zero hour. It'll hurt too bad to miss this ball.

Spoiler:
If I'm making less sense than normal I'll blame it on being sick. Also, thanks for the feedback and giving a glint of hope.

Kinda late in the day to be posting this (it is too late is some parts of the world) but:

Squee!

Supposedly Green Man Gaming's systems are assigning keys to accounts for entry into Steam. Mine's not there yet, but they also say pre-loads haven't started anyway.

So if you took one of their deals, you might want to look later today.

How often are games on Steam available for pre-load? This is my first time pre-ordering a game off of Steam so I don't know what to expect.
