Borderlands 2 Catch-All

Me, I'm going to go back to shooting midgets.

So how about that new DLC pack?

It's frustrating.

For Digipeak, there are no checkpoints. So if you die on the last guy you have to run the gauntlet all over again. The last guys are all amped up versions of the Assassins from that quest in the Steam & Power facility.

I managed to do it on my third try (kept dying to the last guy). Hit level 62. It's basically a grindfest to hit 72 and then unlock the Overpower levels. I was rewarded with a new head for completion.

Working on Overpower 5 which is very, very hard. Might not be able to solo this one.

So apparently Gearbox is doing some kind of Community Day tomorrow. You can buy access to their stream for $20 to get access to some SHIFT codes and stuff.

Oh and a free download of Homeworld HD & Homeworld Classic, which is supposed to be $15. So I guess that makes it a little more reasonable. But at the start I was like $20 to watch some videos and get SHIFT codes... wtf?

Apparently all of the shift codes are for skins and heads found in the area between Claptrap's place and the Knuckledragger boss.
I've read that the Community Day will also allow viewers into a undisclosed BETA as well.

Hey, Blizzard can do it, so why not try it and throw in some goodies for the fans. No idea what you get beside the streaming for Blizzcon though.

In addition, anyone who is there in person or drops $20 on the stream gets access to their "beta program" for the two-three upcoming IPs that they're working on. A big part of their PAX Prime panel was spent pitching this thing.

The heads and skins are free. I spent about an hour on Friday and I got skins for all characters and heads for everyone but Salvador, which ironically is my main character, so the drop rate is quite fair. The heads and skins have a Spaghetti Western feel to them.

Your best bet for farming is to use a character you have completed the main story with. Load them up in NORMAL game mode and fast travel to Claptrap's Place. Head outside and open up all the Bullymong piles up until the area you would normally fight Knuckledragger. Quit and restart until you get what you need.

So these are items that drop normally now, but you got instant access to them if you did the Community Day thing?

Go all the way to the last bullymong pile before the exit, I found a skin there.

edit: extra skins are staying in my inventory, extra heads are disappearing on reload. Doh. Will try to put one in bank and see what happens.

p.s. I have 2 level 50 Bees if anyone needs one.

edit2: bullymong pile heads cannot be stored in the bank. when you put them in...it just deletes the head. tricky bastards.

Used a save editor to give myself and my wife a same-level but different-class character. It's fun seeing what the other classes are like (since spending 40 hours to level a new one wouldn't make me happy).

Think we might actually try UVHM with these "new" characters.

Also, Gearbox is having a big contest. The Borderlands 2 $100K Loot Hunt Sweepstakes.

All you need to do is go here and register using your SHIFT login. Opt in to the loot hunt contest and you're all set. Starting this Friday, October 11th, there will be a series of loot hunts (7 per week). Just hop in game each day and complete the Daily Target and you're golden.

Grand prize is $50,000 cash.

Four weekly cash prizes totaling $50,000 and the following prizes as well:

  • PlayStation Vitas with copies of Borderlands 2 for the PS Vita once it's out
  • Custom Borderlands 2 Turtle Beach headsets
  • An Nvidia Shield PC Streaming set-up with a Tiki PC by Falcon Northwest
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti GFX cards
  • Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition Strategy Guides by BradyGames
  • Lifetime supplies to all 2K titles on Steam – past, present, and future. Including, like, XCOM. You ever play XCOM? Oh man, you should play XCOM.

Can't compete for the prizes, since I'm the untrustworty foreign type, but unique phat lootz sounds good to me!

Ambitious loot hunters can enter the sweepstakes simply by taking down the daily targets once a day for a total of 28 entries.

So playing each day and getting the target gets you an entry. And then there's a drawing or whatever.

So that's nice. You don't have to do all 7 for a week or all 28 or whatever to have a chance to win. Just participate in a few and get chances to win.

The site seems to be very slow to update. I killed Boom Bewm twice today and it stills says "not killed." I missed the first day's target, but as the drop was only Gwen's Head, I'm rather meh on that anyway. The Hornet, however, was a nice upgrade from the corrosive SMG I'd been using, and I had no pistol on my regular arsenal.

So after borrowing this from a friend for a while... I got the GOTY edition. I suspect this plus Diablo 3 for my PS3 and Arkham Origins... I should be set until PS4.

If you look at the bottom of the page, it says that it'll take a couple hours post kill for it to update. I killed him a few hours ago and it's updated, same with Knuckledragger from yesterday.

I killed him 11 hours ago and no update. Nice acid gun though....

Started playing this on PC due to fatigue from Dark Souls and needing something more light.

I picked Zer0 to solo/ occasionally co-op with. I know he isn't popular, but I prefer to snipe... greatly... and he is the only one designed for that. I haven't gotten the hang of his ability yet, but I assume it will help a lot once I do.

I'm a little stuck on Flynt... I have gotten within a few shots, but I keep dying. I haven't found a sniper rifle yet, and figured I could still go for it assuming I didn't need it to beat him. I have seen online that you can get him from the respawn point, but I was hoping someone could confirm so that I don't sit there while he constantly spawns minions.

Any tips? or anyone intreested in joining me this weekend for a little co-op? In borderlands 1 I never enjoyed co-op with randoms because they always rushed through the content as fast as possible. I assume they were on a 2nd or 3rd playthrough and just didn't want to explore.

If you take the side quest for Bullymong fur, you can get a sniper rifle from Hammerlock ( if you turn the fur into CL4PTR4P you'll get a shotgun )

It's worth noting, that you can snipe as anyone really. He certainly gets nice bonuses for it... but it could be argued that Maya, Salvador, and Axton do as well.

I literally though that I would do that along the way with claptrap... I was under the assumption I had to gather fur at 4 different spots and since claptrap's adventure seemed to go towards the other spots I figured 2 birds one stone...

Anyone think I'll have gameplay/quest issues backtracking for that?

I know others can snipe... but they just don't get the bonuses, I don't want to give those up for benefits to play styles that aren't my favorite. I'm a 1 time through kind of gamer, so I don't play games as much as other people do.

manta173 wrote:

Not at all - there's nearly no points where you won't be able to go back to do something. Heck, if you're just outside Flynt's, you could just jump off the edge and run back to town.

The only thing to keep in mind is that quests are locked to the level you are at when you accept them, not when you finish them. You can accept a quest at level 10, but not come back to finish it until you're in the 30s, but your reward will still be set for level 10.

Flynt is the guy with the fire fields, right? If you die fighting him, he's still there walking around and you can kill him from the cover of that little entrance area before you drop down. It's slower but pretty easy that way.

I'm planning on starting new and taking zer0 to OP8. I my current main is an OP8 Salvador, geared to the max and to be honest the game is just too easy with him.

zer0 is one of the better solo characters but doesn't come into his own until higher levels. The current build du jour for him is a melee based build focusing on Deception, Kunai, Grenades and Melee skills. With the right build and the right gear (good 'roid shield, good melee weapon...Law and Order come to mind, also Rapier AR, Evis. Rubi, etc.), zer0 is a beast.

Thanks, I was hoping this was the case, but I had killed some minions and not seen him from there... I now know I can keep trying to peek out and eventually I should get a shot on him.

That's how I always kill him as well. I play as Axton though mainly, so I have the added benefit of omgturrets. God I love those turrets.

I finished BL2 ages ago, and then during a sale a while back I got the season pass DLC. Off I head to Tiny Tina's D&D game at lvl 34, on regular mode. F*cking OUCH! Those skeletons are bloody hard to kill. I have a bunch of loot from the Sanctuary chest, all level appropriate, but it seems to be about as effective as a swarm of mosquitoes. Does anyone know where I can get better gear? Bear in mind I'm mostly a solo guy, I have not even touch co-op yet in this game.

You... can play without Turrets? Why would you do that?

Slag is your friend. Respec your character for maximum slaggage.
