Borderlands 2 Catch-All

Yeah, I can't do Green Man Gaming after my past experiences. I'm just gonna pre-order it on Steam this weekend so I can be playing the minute it unlocks.

Looks like you can definitely save some money, though, going through Amazon or GMG.

Yeah, GMG requires that your email address with them match your paypal address and no one in their right mind does that. At least that used to be the way it worked, I bailed on them numerous months ago when I discovered it.

I was hoping for PC-to-console multiplayer like Portal 2 had. They haven't announced anything like that have they?

I'm hoping for that as well, but that's unfortunately a question of whether or not they can do that with the Unreal Engine...

I am sure they could do it but the issue here is if anyone is interested (so far cross-platform play between PC and console has been a big flop) and if the platform holders will let them (and we all know Microsoft won't).

Letting PC gamers contaminate the console pool is a legitimate problem. In Borderlands 1 I made all sorts of custom weapons. The way the item system worked made it impossible to make anything TOO outrageous (things like damage were directly tied to level requirement), I did make a few weapons that broke some of the system's rules. My favorite was an assault rifle that fired a cluster of 3 bullets per shot.

I used GMG last year to get a great price on DE: Human Revolution, which I activated on Steam with no problems. As for the same email address thing, I have a completely different password for Paypal than my GMG account.

Thanks to the GMG promo code posted by Cymbrogi and a $3 trade-in, I just pre-purchased Borderlands 2 for $37.

Stop making sense!

Guys

I just pre-purchased BL2 at Greenmangaming.com and used this code:

COSYO-UDIDN-TGET1

for 20% off. Final price ended up being $40.00.

I don't think we'll see it cheaper anywhere else and I thought it worth the risk that it may not register on Steam for that savings.

Anyway, thought I'd share. I suspect the code will expire at the end of July.

---------EDIT----------
Seems GMG had a pricing error with it priced at 49.99 before the 20% discount. Price has gone up to $59.99 now without any discounts. We'll see what happens to my order. I use credit cards, no paypal for me from all the horror stories I've heard about them.

That doesn't seem so game breaking. On my current Borderland's character I have a level 19 revolver that does like 37x9 and even has six rounds. I am almost level 30 and that is still one of my best weapons (I know stuff gets way sicker than this though). I do wish there was a way to create/upgrade/customize weapons in the game though. Darksiders 2 has some sentient weapons that you feed other weapons to as a way to upgrade them that sounds interesting.

When each bullet does max damage possible for a rifle and it has the firing rate of an SMG, and 4x corrosive damage, yeah, it's kind of game breaking.

Gmg just rose the price to 60$ instead of 50$ for me

I sure hope that they manage to keep modded weapons and whatnot out of the PC version of Borderlands 2 (since they are using Steamworks). It made playing public games difficult and buggy.

Also, I hope they have a good way to keep you from duplicating items.

Ah, ok! You're good then since passwords can't be cracked.

To be fair, I never played any public games. I had a friend who was interested in getting through the storyline to get ready for Borderlands 2 and didn't really care about the loot grind.

Yeah, I don't have any issue with mods for local games, but there where other people using mods broke save games for me. After that, I backed up my saves every hour or so when playing public. I actually had a great time with people doing public games and would like to do so again when no GWJers are available. I met lots of fun people doing that in Borderlands 1.

Also, when people can mod weapons, lots of people will drop modded crap, and you can't tell which is which when you are looting. So, you get this "Awesome!" moment followed by a "Damn it!" moment after you figure out that it has obviously been modded. Sorta breaks the joy of looting in the same way the Auction house breaks Diablo III.

Pre-purchased with the 10% discount

Neither can email addresses, right?

I can see the BL2 deal on Steam, as well as a 4pack for $162. Plus you're getting everything that's been promised elsewhere, supa sweet.

Looks like there's 4-Packs on Steam now. With the 10% discount that works out to $40 and change per person.

Who wants to help me make one happen?

Tannhauser'd!

Personally, I am all about a 4pack(which is why I posted it), but given that payday isn't till 1 August am hesitant to go in on one.

I'd be in for a four-pack.

I'm down on that 4-pack.

+1 on the four pack.

No Markus bobbleheads for you then! :p

I'm in. Who gets my money?

Looks like that 4 pack is full. New one started! Post interest and I'll PM you info.

[SIZE=16]BORDERLANDS 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/SIZE]

Edit: I'll get you covered, Rezzy.

I need a copy! PM me the amount, a PayPal address, and any other relevant information.

40$? I want in a 4 pack!!

I'll buy a 4 pack if need be. Does Steam charge you now or when the game is released?

Ok, Manach makes four. When he sends me his payment, I'll send out the copies.

Tat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat!

It's immediate, which is why I'm hesitant to commit to a pack as payday isn't till middle of next week.

When I pre-ordered in Feb. from Amazon it was only $32. And I get release day shipping. nerny nerny nerny.
