Borderlands 2 Catch-All

One of my favorite games, and new IPs of the past few years is returning September 18th for you domestic people. New 3 minute trailer, really hope this expands on what the made the original so much fun. The trailer at least gives me confidence that it still doesn't take it self too seriously.

Plus, 96.5% more WUB WUB.

Oh, precious.... I wants it so much...

I actually like good substep but holy crap, another dubstep trailer?!

That said, day one buy for me. I will probably get it on 360 again though cause I don't have a lot of faith in Gearbox's PC port quality, though PC ports in general have been stepping it up lately. I still have all the DLC for the first game on 360 that I haven't touched yet. Really need to setup a night to go through that with people.

I've finished all the DLC except Moxie's. I should probably rebuy the game at $10 and play through it again, that made for many a great drunk co-op night.

September? Just right. I'm looking forward to it already.

The only thing this could clash with for me would be Bioshock Infinite, and even then I'm not sure which one I'd go with as BL2 will probably have a longer campaign to it.

Can't wait. Everything I've seen so far concerning this game has me convinced this is being made by a bunch of geeks beyond all hope of redemption. It's going to be great!

I'm definitely picking this up day one. I played and loved the Hell out of the first one (though I still have a few of the DLC pieces to go back and finish).

Looks like they are following the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", which makes me a happy gamer. This may be one of those games that I actually pre-order, which I almost NEVER do.

96.5% more WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB is all I needed to hear. Can't wait!

So. Much. Want.

Seriously though, I have been playing the original for a year and a half and I am still enjoying it.

I'm not sure they will be able to recreate the feeling of the "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" opening of the original, which was in my eyes, perfect.

That's my thinking as well. I enjoy electronic music but I think the over-saturation of dubstep is starting to become problematic.

I think this is a Day 1 purchase although that depends on when Diablo III/BioShock Infinite launch.

Also, is it just me or does anyone else think the new classes don't look much different than the old ones? Really hoping there's some big differences in the skills that we don't know about. Regardless, totally hoping there's DLC or unlockable versions of the old cast. And a Claptrap bonus class.

EDIT: Oh, and this had better use Steamworks. I really really want to play this with my girlfriend on her PS3.

Agreed. I still find myself humming that tune... and wanting to run down roadkill.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe

I see they are finally including the kitchen sink.

I've been very excited for this one. I actually just picked up a 3rd Xbox so that I can play BL1 with my 2 sons and in preparation for BL2.

One, please.

All I ask is that they give me at least ONE type of revolver with a permanent cylinder. Don't throw that part away! It's still good!

By the way, how much does anyone want to bet that the pre-order bonus is a GameStop exclusive?

EDIT: Yep! Well, the official page says you can get it from Amazon.com too, but only GameStop is advertising it and Amazon's page still says it'll be out June 30th, so maybe they just haven't updated it in a while.

So was the PC port good? i played this on console the first time around, but now i've got a much better gaming rig.

It wasn't bad. They could've done better with the interface, but it ran pretty well on my rig once AMD ironed out the driver kinks.

Also it was shackled with Gamespy. Hopefully they're switching to Steamworks after making more use of it with the BLTest update and DNF's integration.

There's a user created app for tweaking it, but out of the box the PC port is... frustrating. FOV is really cramped even with tweaks to make it better it switches when you sprint. The inventory UI isn't at all optimized either and stats end up being hidden. I believe there's a setting in the tweak app to decrease the font size though. My brother and I eventually surrendered and picked it up on 360 to get the GotY version.

[Edit] Oh right, I had blocked out the Gamespy portion too. So yeah, that adds in router port management and randomly not being able to connect to people. Lobster, my brother, and I played a fair bit and I don't recall specific issues but there was always some jiggering involved to get everyone connected. Maybe Lobster remembers better than I do.

I think I might have had my old router at that time so there was always some jiggering involved to get everything to play nice. I don't blame the game for that. Gamespy isn't ideal but I don't really have a strong opinion of it. It usually seems serviceable. Other than that, pretty good gaming experience. I think we used Steam chat instead of the in-game chat but I always do that so I can talk during load screens. All in all a pretty good experience.

Do Want!

Does this mean I need to change the XBL Silver account from 87bazillion to 87gazillion?

Despite the dubstep trailer, I've been anticipating this game ever since finishing the original. Borderlands was my personal GotY for 2009, so BL2 can't get here soon enough.

I will definitely be pre-ordering this from a non-Gamestop retailer that has the bonus, which at this point seems like just Amazon. Also, I very much hope Gearbox drops Gamespy in favor of Steamworks.

See to me I don't even really see it as being a serious dubstep trailer. I think they just wanted to type of music because it goes along with their ridiculous claims in huge pink letters.

Plus a little claptrap breakdown is never a bad thing.

BAZILLIONDIER.

This looks awesome, will probably purchase soon after release. Assuming I finish the first one (almost done...).

Still, I see no evidence of a crazy awesome attack hawk in this trailer. I'm going to miss my little friend.

There's a Mordecai looking guy in the beginning, jumping down to the platform on the tower that has a bird landing at 0:21. Of course there's no mention of him in the PC expo segment but I also can't believe there's no sniper class. Perhaps that's Zero's alternate role?

Yeah, I saw that guy, but I need evidence of someone getting hawked in the face to be sure.

Mind, I don't actually care if it's attached to the sniper and I don't really want the classes to be exactly the same (because they kind of look like they are...). I just want more games with falconry.

Yeah, when they say "96.5% more WUB WUB" they're probably being ironic.

What about at 0:21? There's a hawk flying to someone. Is that not conclusive enough?

LobsterMobster wrote:

Fair enough. I'm at work so I didn't get to watch the trailer that carefully :p

I guess I'll move on to my next unreasonable demand -- I demand a class that not only has an attack hawk, but an attack Claptrap.

Does the same class have to have both, or are you OK with two separate classes having their own pets?
