Idle F***in' Thumbs Podcast

Quick! To your podcast player of choice. Scoops Horn is available for download and consumption.

Fly, you fools!

Trying to get it from the iTunes Store, iTunes is whining about it being corrupted

I guess I will have to pull it off of their site...

Edit: It looks like it's not available from their site either, at least as of 12:54 UTC

Ah ok, guess it isn't just my IPod being stupid and not updating this morning. I was quite disappointed when I got in my car and noticed it missing.

Grr, BeyondPod is taunting me with that "1 New" icon on the RSS feed, but it won't download.

Dragon Age: Awakenings dream... so good... mouth covered, shaking in seat... why do I listen to Idle Thumbs at work??

That episode just made me want to play STALKER: Call of Pripyat, especially since they have the loyalty discount for the game on steam, where if you own a steam version of eather of the previous Stalker games, Pripyat is only $20 as opposed to $30

I feel the same way, but despite their suggestion otherwise I still want to play through the original. I bought it during the holiday sale and already have the STALKER Complete super mod installed. I've been putting all my PC time toward a complete ME playthrough. I've also played TF2 consistently since the war update.

I might be able to sneak it in after ME and before Monster Hunter 3 launches.

Gaah, how come I didn't see this earlier! Woo, another podcast to entertain me during the week!

Another week another podcast. Things are looking up.

I miss Nick

I'm sure if they keep this up, a new chemistry will appear, but so far, while it has been good, it hasn't been close to the same for me. Chris seems physically tired and Steve seems to want to be louder than Chris which makes things a bit awkward at times. Nick kind of provided a calm background (mostly) that the others could build on top of, but no one is really filling that void in the new line up. It is early still, though, and these people are talented enough to figure this stuff out. I suppose it must suck to have 50 episodes of awesome to live up to as well.

I'm going to keep listening because this is still better than most gaming podcasts and, my criticisms aside, it is still enjoyable. It's just not as great as it was, which makes me a little sad.

I picked it up due to the Thumbs. It's cool game, bro!

Y'know, Mr. Remo has read this thread before, and from what I gather the reason they took so long to start doing casts again was specifically because they were worried about losing the chemistry and flavor that defined their show.

Regardless of how the new stuff compares to the old stuff, it's still some of the best gaming podcasting you can find and I hope they keep doing it.

In the first episode I thought Steve had picked up a coke habit trying to finish the Bioshock 2. He didn't sound genuine at all during that show, just loud. He toned it down a bit for the second episode, so it could've just been nerves or whatever.

It's not the same, clearly, but I'm still happy they're doing it.

I'm really liking the show with Steve. It's not the same as it used to be, but I am enjoying it an equal amount.

I agree. It is a little different, but in no way worse IMO.

I was laughing my bum-bum off at work listening to Chris, Stephen and Jake talk about children listening to R-rated material. "Is that the one with the horse-bag Daddy?" and "Donkey C*** Country." Oh man.

The funniest podcast is back baby!

(It's shame that I can't record this post as audio 'cause when I speak I sound very much like some of those ridiculous voiceovers from STALKER.)
If I ever go to San Francisco I'll try to hide next to entrance to Telltale office and when Nick is coming out stand behind him and shout 'SUP BRO!

I like Steve. I don't like his opinions on Uncharted 2, but he was responsible for this back-and-forth with Chris:

"In Bioshock 2 I played through the..I played through it on the PC and..."

"Did you play through it on Hard?"

"No, Normal."

"I played through it on Hard."

"I'm a Normal Idiot. Ahh...and I..."

"I'm a...developer on the game."

I'm not sure why I thought it was so funny, it just happened so fast it made me laugh.

And the best line from this 'cast came from Jake.

"It's weird that the horse bag is, like, Idle Thumbs sort of...the...the...tide of Idle Thumbs receded and the only thing left on shore, apparently, was a Horse Bag."

Every time, every single time I listen to Idle Thumbs, I end up grinning like an idiot and laughing my butt off in a public place. The chemistry may have changed somewhat, but it's still gold.

Once this guy in the bus, sitting opposite me, thought I was laughing at him and poked me to get me to notice that he had something to contribute. I explained that I'm sorry, I was listening to the radio, what did you have to say? He said that I need to explain what's so funny. I couldn't, because it was just something stupid I heard on the radio. He wanted to be sure that I wasn't laughing at him. I said I was although at this point I was becoming both worried and amused at the absurd situation, because the man was obviously agitated and he looked like the sort who hurts people from time to time. I told him I was sorry for disturbing him or whatever. He proceeded to call one of his friends and explained that there is this idiot on the bus laughing at him. I felt so strange afterward. We're both over thirty, since when did adults behave this way?

You should have just offered him your headphones and played the bit where they just say "jeff goldgame goldblum gamegold" for about 20 minutes straight as an explanation. Then he would have thought you were the dangerously insane one.

You should have said "y'know, horse bag jokes". He would understand.
Most of the time I shame myself by giggling on the bus and trying to turn it into cough when somebody turns and gives me strange look.

Not to worry, I'm sure the Idle Thumbs folks would have then recorded a podcast at your funeral and amusement would be had by all (who weren't you).

Reminds me of the time we watched this weird movie which was all twisted around plot- and time-wise, and involved Greeks and an ongoing political dispute there, and when we got out our cab driver asked us about the movie, then got quite animatedly upset about the Greek situation. ("If they aren't planning to take over, why did they change the currency?" and that sort of thing.)

Thing was, if he'd pulled out a gun and done us in right there, it would have been in perfect continuity with the movie...

Conf Grenade bein' lobbed at ya.

This happened in Helsinki? Was the agitated >30 year old from Helsinki? When I was there for a business trip, the one thing I really remember was the calmness of everyone. It also seemed like a very safe place to live. I remember seeing a porsche parked on the street with both its windows rolled down and it was past midnight!

So I've been listening through their old catalog of shows (I'm on episode 20 or so) and it is spectacular.

Though I don't like listening to them and the GWJ Conference Call back to back. They styles are just so vastly different. While I love them both, they do not mesh well at all. It's like eating BBQ Ice Cream.

What about a barbecued banana on ice cream? Unless you mean barbecue sauce flavoured ice cream, but I'd still be up for that.

Let's say some nice Butter Pecan Ice Cream with a big ole glob of BBQ sauce on it, like fudge on a sundae.

I think my irrational loves of BBQ sauce and ice cream prevent me from realizing what's wrong with that.

This is what I came here to say. It's not quite the same but it's of equal quality. I've still blurted out laughing randomly in my quiet office, listening with my Ipod which is the Idle Thumbs quality test.
