NFL 2011 Super Bowl XLVI

My cousin won DirectTV's Displaced Fan competition. I knew this meant tickets to the Super Bowl, what I didn't know was that he got to spend time with all these players before the game, and play in the beach game with football legends. Reading his facebook posts is making my soul cry. Woke up this morning to his post about grabbing some breakfast and chatting with Peyton Manning while eating.

Please tell us all what Peyton really thinks about Jim Irsay!

Hilarious! I'm guessing there are a lot of superstitious New Yorkers whose ulcers (already there from living in NY) just got a lot worse.

Alright, I've delayed make a pick long enough. I was waiting to see if anybody would get arrested or something. I'm going with the Giants.

Need to post a score also.

Between this and all the trash talking, I am not getting a good vibe about this game. This game has "Patriots blowout" written all over it.

Oh yeah, thanks.

Let's say 42-38. At least I can hope for a fun game to watch.

Ugh. The NFL knows me too well. I think I'm actually going to watch the awards tonight. You win, NFL. You win.

VON MILLER ROOKIE OF THE YEAR! HELL YEAH, BABY!

Taking the Patriots, I think the Giants revert to normal.

I like the Buc's coaching hire, everything I have read has been good. I think the Raiders made yet another hiring mistake, really they made a firing mistake in getting rid of Hue Jackson.

EDIT: I forgot to add a score. 27-23 Pats.

FTFY

Something I noticed while watching Baldwin's opening.

LeSean brought the bling!

Yes, be excited, because that wasn't at all predictable. Seriously, that one was the easiest of the night.

Sucks to be this guy.

Going with Giants 27 over Pats 23.

if they win, he still gets an $88,000 bonus and a ring. If they lose, he only gets $44,000. Sucks to be him.

Spoiler:

this is because he was active for 8 games this season. The guy playing was only active for 2, so he gets half the bonus despite the fact that he's on the team this week.

I picked the giants earlier, but I don't think I put a score. So...
Giants 28 - 24 Patriots

LeSean brought the bling! :)

He probably had to rent that based on his salary.

31-28 Pats, starts out defensive 1st half, shootout 2nd half.

Crazy Prediction: Ochocinco makes a large impact (key TD and/or 3rd down conversion). They released Underwood, so Ocho will be active.

Weatherford - Super Bowl MVP

I thought there could have been holding on the Woodhead TD. Oh well, 10-9 at halftime, the same score the Giants were down against the Broncos in Super Bowl XXI.

Extremely annoyed that the Giants D didn't show up for the first half. Let's hope they make some big plays in the second half.

Pretty overloaded half-time performance. Seems like Madonna is afraid of having no face value among the younger viewership.

I enjoyed the half-time show.

Wish the camera was pulled back and up more as the ground video screens looked really creative.

Also, WTF EA?! No ME3 commercial?

Hell of a drive from New England to open the half. Giants defense looked like they just didn't have any answers in that one.

So...you can only celebrate victories where the winner wasn't favored? Not gonna be much for this Texans fan to celebrate next year. Works well for a Bucs fan, though!

Hey Guru, if Manning gets all the calls, where was the one for hit on a defenseless receiver, when Nicks took a vicious helmet to helmet shot before he came down with the ball?

Proper tackling, no reason there's a helmet to helmet on that tackle attempt, when Nicks was in the air. Where's the waist wrap up, which is less violent, and produces the same result.

If it was Harrison, he would have been flagged and fined by now.

WOW. Hey Guru, ready to change your mind? Manningham was molested on 3rd and 10 just now, no flag.

Second questionable non-call against the NYG by the refs.

Yeah that one was bad.
