Polytron/Kokoromi's FEZ

You definitely don't need to solve that puzzle now, so don't worry about it too much.

Thanks.

Though that kinda sucks, since that was like the only dead end I could think of right now

The all purple hub zone with the doors that unlock at certain levels should have 5 doors you can go into: the room between the starting village and the purple hub, and 4 other hub worlds. Have you gone through all of those doors? If so, at this point you should be able to explore and get to 32 cubes without doing any decoding of any kind. Keep exploring at places you thought were dead ends. There might be doors you missed that lead to easy cubes or cube pieces.

MEATER wrote:

Also noticed that I have only two warp gates accessible from the hub.

I also had this problem. If you want to find the other warp gates, you should (minor spoiler hint follows):

Spoiler:

pay a lot of attention to the lighthouse room

Finally put some time into this, I like and hate it.

I hate that the traversal is so intentionally obtuse. Having so many doors in one area and having to just trial and error which one takes you where you want to go is frustrating.

Especially when you're scouring for one last cube bit, when you have 31 cubes and 7 bits. Christ. I've been looking for like 2 hours. I've got the tetris stuff down, but I don't even know where to start with the other symbols. I have the book, numbers, and words artifacts, but no idea how they work together. I just want that last cube bit damnit.

Edit: O_o

Trying unsuccessfully to get my head around what possibilities this unlocks. I think I'll go eat some eggs instead.

Is this really the Fez thread? No posts since May? Wow.

Anyway, Phil Fish has confirmed he'll be porting Fez to other platforms in 2013. No news on which platforms and when, but it's going to happen.

I'm playing it at the moment and loving it.

There is a little bubble that appears when you are near a door that shows what's through them. I'm guessing that might be new.

Nah that was there originally.

Also super glad to hear it is finally getting ported. Playing this game is like being in a secret club or something -- kind of like what has happened with frog fractions. I'm excited that more people will have the chance to join.

Yes but when is frog fractions being ported to other platforms?

And what about Journey!! (I know it's not going to happen :()

PC has Dear Esther and 30 Flights of Loving, it doesn't need another game like that

I'm thinking 360 (crazy talk :)) and it's the art style of Journey that draws me the most.

If only you could play it, and hear its sound. WHAT IS GAME.

Dear Esther was the best video game walk about I've ever gone on.

Finished Fez (the first ending.) Loved it. I'm generally not into platformers but this game had me jumping from ledge to ledge with glee. The aesthetic is superb. I feel off the hook in terms of getting my moneys worth so I think I'll just play around and see what else I can do.

How many cubes? 32? My boy, you've just begun...

Based on the chatter here (and in the Games I've Finished thread), I think I may have to pick this one up again. Never realized New Game+ was such a drastically different experience.

There is something about New Game + that everyone should know about when they beat Fez for the first time (minor spoiler):

Spoiler:

It's not really a New Game +, at least in a traditional sense. You don't start the game over. All you do is continue to progress the game. So calling it a "New Game +" is actually quite misleading. It's not optional -- but it's what you are supposed to do to get to the next part of the game.

So yeah, if you haven't done New Game + yet, you should.

to be more explicit about that spoiler

Spoiler:

there is an ability you are given after the first ending that enables you to solve puzzles that are otherwise unsolvable (well other than brute force trial and error, I guess)

Support this. I need (don't need) a Fez LEGO set.

Saw that on Twitter today and backed it immediately! I'd love to be able to put that in my office!

And there was much rejoicing!

Wait, no preorders...? Huh.

It's not unusual for listings to appear before they take pre-orders.

They need time to figure out what the TF2 hat will be. It can't be a fez since there's already one in the game.

How about a pixellated Fez?

But is that fez merely 2D and always rotated to face the player's screen, a la trees in Mario 64? Is it made of voxels?

FZ: Side F (the remix album) is really good! The original soundtrack is also still boss (and it's on Spotify, too). The game comes out Wednesday on Steam. Get hyped, everyone!

Just picked this up on Steam. Very interesting so far. Glad it got a Windows release.

Yeh, was really excited. Unfortunately I can't get past the loading screen though. Game crashes within 8 seconds. Maybe this is the first puzzle!
