GWJ BCS League, Season I (360): Conference Championship Week (League Deadline: 12/31/11 @ 7:00am ET)

That was a good game, Zell. I got lucky on a few plays that went deep, but you were hanging in there the whole time. You did a great job of limiting my Heisman winning HB, Wesley, to 'only' 110 yards. The kid is a beast.

ND up next? Ugh. This is going to be rough.

Michigan wins 31-13. The Boise St defense was pretty tough. I had a couple of TDs on a short field due to turnovers. I switched up to clock control mode and ran the ball to keep their offense off the field.

Congrats on the National Championship! I'm just glad I wasn't at the other end of it this time

With Zellbrige hoping over to WVU, here is the new Big East landscape:

Big East (Blue)
Rutgers
Pittsburgh
West Virginia
Cincinnati
Connecticut
USF
Syracuse

Big East (Black)
Boston College
Tennessee
NC State
Duke
North Carolina
Louisville
Clemson

Everyone will get 3 HvH matchups for Season II, 1 inter-division, 1 opposite division, 1 other conference. Not sure who will get who yet, but that's how it's going to shake down.

Your human opponents next season:

Rutgers: West Virginia, Boston College, Georgia
West Virginia: Rutgers, Tennessee, TCU
Tennessee: Boston College, West Virginia, Notre Dame
Boston College: Tennessee, Rutgers, Michigan
Michigan: Notre Dame, Georgia, Boston College
Notre Dame: Michigan, TCU, Tennessee
TCU: Georgia, Notre Dame, West Virginia
Georgia: TCU, Michigan, Rutgers

I know there are some rematches from Season I, but in Season III, I will make changes to your non-division games, so everyone will get different opponents. If we make it to Season IV (crossing fingers), everyone will have played everyone at least once.

I have had the privilege of coaching for a very good yet underrated team. I hate to be leaving Marshall but it is time for me to move upstate to Morgantown to take over as head coach of the Mountaineers. In my short tenor at Marshall, I led the Thunder Herd to an 11-3 season and BCS ranking of 23rd. While we lost to TCU in the Big East championship, we were able to redeem ourselves by beating FSU 35-31 in the Champs Sports Bowl. All American LE Vinny Curry stood out as a lynch pin of my defense, finishing the season by setting the NCAA single season sack record with 30.5 sacks and winning the 2011 Bednarik, Nagurski, and Lombardi awards. WR Troy Evans won the Biletnikoff award and true freshman QB Rakeem Cato became an All American finishing the season (three weeks early due to injury) with a QB rating of 138.9, 3128yrd, and 33tds.
I wish my former team all the best of luck and look forward to facing my them while at WVU. Thank you and good night.

Rutgers knocks off Ole Miss 33-14. Ole Miss turned the ball over way too much to have a shot at this game, and that includes an ill-advised fake punt on 4th and long.

3 Bowl games down, 3 to go!

Nice win Kush. Ole Miss is a pain in the butt.

You're telling me, my first matchup with them saw 3 lead changes in the last minute of regulation, before heading to OT. This time was a little easier, my play of the night was accepting a holding penalty. Doesn't sound like much, but it would have been 4th down on my 29 if I declined in a 10 pt game. I pushed them back into 3rd and long, and held. Then, they ran a fake punt on 4th and 21. It was pretty much game over after that.

Hoppa -- Any chance you're around tonight? Later works better for me, usually 11 pm EST or so. I could probably swing 10 pm tonight, too.

Between Dec. 26 and 29 I'll be travelling and unavailable to play. Do they let you do the offseason stuff on the web in '12?

Incidentally, congrats Leroy on another NC!

And, since we're coming to an end of this season and seem to be picking up steam with this game again, is there interest in starting a 2* dynasty after the New Year? The idea would be to pick a 2* or lower team and bring them to prominence. We had a lot of fun with this last year. I would imagine trying to keep the HvH games to about 2 or 3 per season to make things go more quickly.

I might even have to resurrect Northern Illinois again...had a lot of fun with that team last year.

Nice ... Hoppa, I'll look for you tonight. Can't make guarantees about exactly when, but I'll try to make a 10 pm or 11 pm start time.

I'd do a 2* league. Western Kentucky please. If I don't chat with you gents before, hope you all have a happy holiday and what not with your friends and family.

Only waiting on the Hoppa vs Firesloth matchup now, what say you two?

Friday is the deadline, but like I said, I am willing to extend due to the holiday week.....................who am I kidding, I'm always willing to extend, no matter what time of year!!! But this week is totally understandable!

Hoppa, you out there buddy? Just want to get a feel for your availability. Looking forward to the off-season!
