NCAA Football 2012 Season Catch-All

Here come the Warhawks! 7 point game with 6 min left.

Yowzers, FSu handing it to Wake for years past hehe

And they got the stop. ULM ball with 4 min. TD/XP to tie, TD/2 to win.

EDIT: Tied!

And overtime.

But now the Louisville game has started.

Awww....I really wanted ULM to go 3-0, 2-0 vs SEC cuz it would've been a great story.

Still really proud of them, and I'm going to try to watch them the rest of the year.

Wow. 0-2 Pitt with losses to Cincy (34-10) and FCS Youngstown St beats #17 Va Tech 35-17.

Did I already post here that I've been calling this the Year of Parity? I think I did. Feel free to quote me.

In Aggie news, last week we were approximately as good as a middlin' SEC team. So far this week, we're about as good as a middlin' Conference USA team.

You guys watching this Louisville game on ABC/ESPN2 across the country?

Because we are putting on a damn clinic.

13 yp catch, 8 yp carry. 29-0. 8 min left in the 1st half. UNC looks ready to get the hell out of town.

Coming to you live from Columbus, OH

Well Cal made of a game of it. We showed a lot more discipline than we have in the first 2 games, and in a hostile environment to boot. Our poor Kicker missed 3 makeable fg's and we had a TD called back by a horrible phantom block in the back penalty. We were done in by 2 horrible defensive mistakes. A terrible angle by a db on a qb keeper resulted in a TD and some horrible breakdown in our secondary let in the game winning TD.

The game was a lot of fun and us west coast college football fans never get to see these types of college game day experiences. Have had a great time here in the heartland.

20 - 0 at halftime; maybe the Ags have sorted it out.

How's the clinic going?

Edit: Cardinals escape after a big scare with 3 minutes left.

Well I was cheering for the Hogs as they were playing Bama, but it was ugly. They could have had Peyton Manning and it not made a difference. The Arkansas defense was just terrible, but having a true freshman QB sure didn't help. 52-0 loss on your home field sure does sting. I hope the coach hasn't signed any long-term loans as I don't think he will be there long.

You know Hot Piss just filed for bankruptcy last week, right?

Who is Hot Piss?

The soon to be former coach of Arkansas. Google "Get your piss hot".

In other news, Sam Houston, an FCS team, leads Baylor in the third! Go Bearkats!

We made one stupid call, not taking a FG to go up 5 scores, and going for it on 4th down. Pissed UNC off, and they made a couple of good drives.

Then in the last 4 min all hell broke loose, the refs blew 3 calls back to back in UNCs favor and we ended up with that terrible final margin. It should have been an easy 11 point win with us running the clock out, even with the bad FG call in the 3rd.

1)Late hit on 3rd down after our RB had fallen on his own and already stood back up after the play, not called. Drive should have continued and ran the clock out.

2)Their QB fumbled, but the refs whistled it dead, so couldn't review it, even though we recovered. Should have been game over, or maybe even run the ball into the end zone from the 15 and up the margin.

3)Then the very next play they called the "roughing the passer" that wasn't, and saved UNC with a first down.

All of that happened in about 6 plays and almost handed the game to UNC.

EDIT: Forgot the 4th play, until a nice UK fan reminded me about how we fumbled a kickoff return. That one was a helmet-to-helmet on our defenseless returner, as he was held by the leg of another tackler and already falling to the ground, when he got pounded, probably had an immediate concussion, and dropped the ball as he fell to the ground. He got carried off the field. But another no-call.

Tennessee's defense got exposed tonight and Florida was a better team than I thought. Ugh.

How about them Hilltoppers?

I was cheering for the Vols. I'm gonna hate Flop-ida for at least as long as Muschump is there.

Yeah, I was cheering for the Vols as well. Consolation game was at least USC got beat by Stanford. Lane Kiffen is a scumbag and I enjoy every game he loses.

I guess USC's return to dominance is on hold. Also, LSU played Idaho?

Well thank god we (finally) beat BYU. Crazy end. Just another rivalry game. See you in three years.

We beat Stony Brook! Barely!

Oh, I did not see USC lost. Went to bed early. That USC title talk sure didn't last long!

A bit shocked and disappointed about the USC loss. Not because it does or doesn't hurt the PAC 12 (I care only for the PAC One that is Cal), but because we play USC next week in LA and they will probably be pissed. Our hope is that we did play well this week and USC plays Oregon the following week so maybe hey look pass us.

Of course now SEC fans and east coast naysayers will talk about how bad the PAC 12 is. If bama or LSU were to lose a conference game to a Florida or Tennessee but still won the sec championship game they would expect to be in he BCS championship game due to the strength of their conference.

Double posr

Ugh ND wins. Now the talking heads will talk about how they should be handed the trophy already. Bah!

Yeah, it's their warmup game before starting the SEC grind. Now it's time to see just how good the Tigers really are!

Eh, there's no reason to talk about ND and trophies. Their offense isn't good enough (probably). They have real struggles running the ball against good D-lines, and they're going to play a lot of those in coming games (Oklahoma, USC, Stanford).

Still, their defense played very well, and that's exciting for me! Even so, they're very young in the secondary and could get torn apart by experienced offenses with a strong passing game (USC, for example...Robert Wood is going to eat their lunch).

When will they be talking about ND possibly having a shot at something larger? Next year or the year after. There shouldn't be any such talk right now.

Man, down year for the Big Ten, huh? Ohio State might be the best team in the conference, and they aren't bowl eligible. Wisconsin looks all kinds of out of sorts, Michigan State and Michigan both have problems, Nebraska has a shot putter at QB...this could be an interesting season for the Big Ten.

We don't have a coach. We have an senile old man who is way overpaid to crack stupid jokes and stand on the sidelines for a few hours each weekend.

Unfortunately we also have an AD is is so desperate/pathetic that he actually said he's willing to make the next coach the highest paid in college football. Hoping the phone will ring like it did last time. Dark days ahead, need a complete change in leadership from top to bottom.

College football as a whole was fun though. ULM almost beating Auburn, and USC going down to Stanford were the highlights of my weekend. I thought it was funny that the Stanford students rushed the field after beating a team they've beat four years in a row.

Everything is now in place for another Alabama/LSU rematch.
