Not impressed. Where's Tkyl? Come on!

Is that GMG discount still available to our international friends here? Is it possible to gift a pre-order?

If anyone still needs help around the regional restrictions, I can assist. My local price is $49.99, US dollars, through Steam. (I don't pay sales tax, just list price.)

Drop me a PM if you're interested.

The coupon deal is also still a good option on Greenmangaming.com as it will bring the price down to 37.50. But you don't get the pre-order bonus stuff from steam. It will still activate on steam though, but they don't send you the key till it's released.

I care more for saving money than little goodies. If you're willing, see if you can purchase again (assuming you did). I'll reimburse you, of course.

I want the image at 29:00 for my wallpaper.

DOUBLE POST.

Just in case, lemme get this straight.

If I pre-purchase from GMG with the coupon, I will get a steam-usable key on release date?

£22.50 seems like a good price for release day access!

EDIT: nevermind, it actually states:

Third party DRM: Steam
This game requires a free Steam account to play.

So I guess that answers my question! I wonder when the 25% off coupon expires?

You should get one. But it's not guaranteed. There have been instances in the past where people had to wait a few days for their keys. As someone mentioned in another thread: such is the price for... well, the price.

I am totaly like a little kid waiting on Christmas morning....

I havent been this excited for a game in years. many years

Well, looks like I can't buy it at gmg anyway as both paypal and card are unable to complete the transaction

Sad times..

EDIT :- Scratch that, I got in touch with their support - they had blocked my purchase because I was behind my work's proxy.. all good now. The countdown can begin!

This RPS preview has done it. I went from "waiting until the first sale" to "pre-order" mode instantly. I have to admit I (ab)used my brother's US shipping address again and bought an Amazon download. The difference due to exchange rate is 10+ euros for us Europeans, i.e. crazy. No way I would pay 45 euros, but 34? Yes, why not.

I had a look but once you own it (even preorder) you can't rebuy it. Not sure if the coupon still works now too.

I just used the coupon this morning (UK time) so it does still work. However, need to find someone who is watching this thread and has already pre-ordered elsewhere so they can still get the GMG code done for you!

It seems some embargo has been lifted today. There's been several new articles and reviews out.

Here's a new video of an assault on a downed ship.

Those OXM videos are awesome. I felt like I was listening to a golf commentator give play-by-play calls on XCOM. It was excellent.

Yeah, that was awesome. Can't believe how much I want to play this.

Great naming for the soldiers, too. I might have to name someone Kitkat Chunky also.

From that video, the base location benefits:

North America: "Air and Space": All aircraft and aircraft weapons cost 50% less to purchase, build and maintain.
Europe: "Expert Knowledge": Laboratories and Workshops cost 50% less to build and maintain.
Asia: "Future Combat": All projects in the Foundry and the Officer Training School cost 50% less.
South America: "We Have Ways": Autopsies and Interrogations are completed instantly.
Africa: "All In": Monthly XCOM funding increased by 30%.

AGH! When is this out again?! This is my only new-game purchase this autumn.

The correct answer is "Not soon enough."

If you want to be technical, Oct 9 (or 11).

(US) Amazon says Oct 9, (EU) Steam says Oct 11. So, my Amazon download will unlock on 9, but I am not sure I will be able to play it that day (since the game is Steamworks). Hmmm, riddles in the dark...

Tkyl, you guys outdid yourselves. This looks *fantastic*!

Thank you! We're really excited for this game to come out. We can't wait till people are able to play it!

Bravo on doing a tremendous job. I really hope the game does well, because it's a great demonstration that it [em]is[/em] in fact possible to capture the spirit of an older well-loved game in a new implementation tailored for more modern tastes.

I'm not planning on playing the console version, but I do think it's pretty awesome that it looks so good there. Before seeing what you guys have done, X-COM is not a game I would ever have imagined working well on a console.

Stopped sleeping on this one as of this morning. I am majorly pumped for this game as of that RPS review and those videos! This is seriously going to cut into the GW2 time.

SOME people are able to play it. Hint hint. Nudge nudge.

You only have yourselves to blame for not letting us play it now.

I think Firaxis could benefit from an exclusive beta test by a close-knit community of dedicated, employed gamers. It would be invaluable really. Anyone else think this?
