Give it time... I think their database is still updating. The number of pages worth of "specials" jumped from 63 to 68 in the time I downloaded all of them. I'm going to have to give them a chance to finish updating, or I'm going to end up missing stuff.
As usual wait for daily deals. Anything else you can buy on Sunday afternoon/evening. Sale ends Mon, 1pm eastern.
Pretty underwhelming sale today for me. And no way would I pick up any game just discounted 33% on Steam unless it was released really recently and I was very tempted.
edit: I spoke too soon. There are some great deals on there that are not as obvious, like Eversion for $1.25 or Kaptain Brawe for $3.99.
Well, I got a transaction failure when trying to check out. Not sure whether to retry, or wait a few.
OK, it worked, so I do have those two Renegade Ops for $3.75 if anybody wants them.
Bonus_Eruptus wrote:Is Portal 2 for $10.19 worth it, or should I hold out for a lower price?
It's very close to my 2011 GOTY. It's awesome. It's worth $45 easy. The single player alone took me over 17 hours, and then there's a separate co-op campaign as well. It's one of the best games I've ever played tbh.
17 hours??
Are you counting multiple playthroughs?

So did I... but I tried again now and its working. Basically the "I Agree" field wasn't showing up and erroring you out. It should be there now.
Thanks Mannish
I bit on Orcs Must Die but someone from Robot Entertainment needs to explain to me how they made they game 5.6GB or to put it in easier terms, bigger than effing Skyrim.
I picked up Orcs Must Die, Eversion, Kaptain Brawe, Dungeons of Dredmor, and Night Sky.
Thanks Mannish :D
Payback for last sale We'll have to try co-op sometime.

Must have a lot o' Orcs!
(I bit, too. And threw in the ultra cheap DLC.)
I picked up Orcs Must Die, Eversion, Kaptain Brawe, Dungeons of Dredmor, and Night Sky.
In other words, you picked up 4 games that were not on the daily sale prior to the final day.
Have we taught you nothing?!
Your mother and I are so disappointed.
I'm in for Orcs Must Die. Will probably get Fortix 2 and Runescape. Will also keep an eye on other things I've thrown into my wishlist, but I find myself always thinking the prices are too high, despite how low they seem to be.

Hey, hey! Give me a moment to explain. Sheesh! Here's my reasoning for this.
1. Orcs Must Die is 75% off and it is a recent release for a price of $3.74. That is an instant buy.
2. Eversion is 75% off and at $1.25. It isn't going to get cheaper than that unless they give it away.
3. Kaptain Brawe was $3.99 with a 60% discount. It could get cheaper, but what is a dollar going to matter?
4. Dungeons of Dredmor was 50% off; however, it was originally $5. You cannot go much cheaper than $2.50. And if you did, it wouldn't amount to much.
5. Same as DoD, Night Sky was $5 and is now $2.50. It is a steal.
I made the right choice. And I am holding out for better deals on other games.
Is SteamGameSales working for anybody at the moment? It looks like Steam putting 1687 games on sale may have broke something.
Currently, I'm just searching for titles I'm interested, and making note if they're on sale or not. Even with a sortable spreadsheet, trolling through 1600+ entries for games you may want is a bit difficult.
Please remember the Steam Sale Golden Rule:
Only buy stuff that is on the daily deal. Wait till the last day to buy anything that wasn't a daily you wanted!
I'm scared by how many games there are where the prices seem reasonable even without being in the daily sale. People were talking about how great a deal the Geneforge games were at full price when they launched at Steam and they already have a 50% discount which is really tempting even though I'll probably never play them.
Even without a bigger discount I'll probably end up picking up Space Pirates and Zombies, Dungeons of Dredmor, Limbo and a few other titles. I'll wait until the final day of the sale to buy them though.
Less than a Jackson for two copies of Portal 2? I can't pass that up and honestly say I'll buy it someday.
$5 for Orcs Must Die and both DLC is pretty easy too.
Light day, and probably all I care about in day 1. Thanks Gabe!
Haha... DNF for $6.79. Surely it's worth that?
If that's all they'll pay me to play it, I'm holding out for a better offer.
As for the sale, it's probably a good thing for me that it's so soon after Skyrim came out. Anything I buy this week is going to sit on the pile for some time no matter what, so only amazing deals will get my attention. (I hope.)
Any opinions on Sam & Max Complete for $12.49? I had a great time with Tell Tale's Back to the Future game but when I tried the very first Sam & Max episode a few years ago I didn't enjoy it.

I think Ep 4. of Season 1 is available as a demo. You could try that and determine if it's worth buying.

I love 'em, but I also love the Sam & Max style of humor, which is the real selling point of the games.
I was going to note that this sale surprised me, but a reader on RPS encapsulated my sentiment beautifully:
NO. NONONO.
What kind of monster would greenlight this with the holiday sales a mere month away? Be right back, I’m off to throw my credit card into a volcano.
I surprise myself for being able to not buy Portal 2. The backlog is a scary thing. Nothing else that's tempting, I feel lucky.
I double dipped on ME2 at $5 for the sake of convenience (already own a physical copy and have played through twice) and got OMD (plus both DLCs), which was on my wishlist.
Total cost: $10 and change

Just an FYI for others: You can take physical ME2 keys and load them into Origin to turn the game into a digital copy that you can download anytime (or play without disc in drive).

Any space game fans should get Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. Awesome fleet battles and all for $2.50!
I've got my eye on MOW: Vietnam, how stable is it these days? The podcast the crew did back near release day made it out to be very buggy. I might wait for assault squad and get that on sale instead.

This was my exact cart.

Yeah it works fairly well. I also shortcut it to Steam and get the Steam overlay with screenshots, chat, etc.
Only problem is that since the last DLC or maybe since the re-branding of EADM to Origin, the ME2 auto-login never works. So I have to login to the game (EA Account) every single time I start it.
AWESOME! Game Sales!
Oh wait, I got a Mac now... Carry on, I guess I'll go to starbucks or something ;_;
