BHA raid week 11/29-12/5- RAIDS SCHEDULED (Wednesday changes slightly)

If anyone bails on Thursday, I'd like to take my Frost DK on the alt run.

So it turns out that we're super good at games and Rag will never bother us again.

Who knew?

So ... you spanked his raggy butt? Grats!!

If it's just going to be a 4.0 run, I will be happy to step aside for you. I don't really need to run two nights in a row.

I didn't sign up this week, and can't play for the next two weeks.

My brother is getting married on the 10th and I'm going to be on the road/in Wisconsin for almost 10 days. Before then I'm pulling late nights at work to make sure my backlog is as small as possible when I get back. Unfortunately I think this is basically me saying I'm afk from WoW for a while. SWTOR early access starts right as I get back to Maryland, and the galaxy far, far away is where my focus is going to be for a while.

See you folks around when I see you.

I would make some Jedi reference but I do not really know Star Wars.

See you in that game... i think... we are evil over there right?

Kind of, yeah.

We're on the Horde side in TOR, basically.

I'm thinking it is going to be the new 4.3 5 mans.

How many of you were still up when Rags went down?

P.S. GRATS!

6 - Cheets, Rant, Sel, Zero, TK, and Gannon.

Rantin died just before the second transition but got a brez from Grinds so he was alive again at the end. While we were frantically kiting meteors around Grinds and Lawk both got hit by one and died, then Youko got taken out by something, then I got killed just before the end while we were down to one healer (I can't remember if it was a meteor hit that killed me or if it was Rag, but I do know I had already used LoH).

Sorry about ruining last night, too, guys. I blame Grinds for not having any subs scheduled to replace me. At least we one-shot the first boss, so that's something, even if we did keep wiping to trash after that. I'll see if I can figure out how we're supposed to kill those without either a) bringing 5 tanks or b) burning down as many as we can before we wipe so we can clear them the second time.

Ah yes, the best part of any new raid -- trash that feels harder than half the bosses from the previous raid.

Bummed I missed the first kill. How's it looking for a return visit on Sunday?

I found a trash guide for Dragon Soul.

Dragon Soul Trash Guide - Icy Veins

Basically you need both tanks on the huge tentacle, because if nobody is attacking him in melee, he spams an attack every 2 seconds or so that does 100k damage to a person and everyone within 4 yards of them, and he's also the one who picks up his tank and throws him, so when he throws his tank away he starts spamming that attack and we get hosed. As long as he's getting hit in melee, he doesn't do too much damage, so the idea is just have the tanks on him and focus the rest down one at a time.

Grats on Rag 2.0!

I got killed by lava >.>...............

was cornered by meteor and a wave and the wave knocked me in the lava. That was the 3rd time I die to lava that night.

So, this is the deal folks. LFR is incredible. It's smooth and, more importantly, fun. The more GWJ'ers we get involved, the better it will be.

I want a set night to do these weekly. So much fun.

i say we all lvl 7 alts and do it daily.

We do need to remember there is a minimum gear level that needs to be met to get into this, ilvl 372 I believe. We need to do everything in our ability to help those who wish to join us in raiding get to the point where they can do so. It is part of everyones responsibility to get there on their own, but it sure is a hell of a lot more fun getting to that point with guild members. So do your part to help those who need some gear, if you can. I agree the LFR is alot of fun, but someone lost an opportunity tonight because of gear requirements. I don't want to see this happen again. I'd love to see everyone who wants to join us able to in the future.

Fortunately, it appears gratuitous 5-man dungeon runs are all that is needed to get people tons of JPs, and thus, in 378s. I can't wait to have a druid raid tank.

Last night was amazing.

Also, this: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/to...

Hilarious.

This.

I maxed out my VP yesterday in a little over 2 hours running 5 mans and managed to acquire around 1500 JP. Our crafters can start making the new PvP gear for people to get ilvl up high enough to queue and then we'll outfit people in some PvE gear. It's actually pretty easy and once you're able to queue, there are 4 or 5 pieces of 378 quest reward gear (3 of it was useful for me but all for my elemental spec).

We should be able to catch people up pretty quickly. I'm looking forward to getting Kel geared this weekend and Rant is all in 378 and higher gear for resto and elemental is only a few items away (elem isn't enchanted yet though).

And when you're geared? The fun and free loot that is LFR. Seriously, you guys don't want to miss this, it's great.

Oh, and a BIG thanks to Carg for dragging 24 other people along with him last night. Hell of a job.

That raid was entirely too much fun (even if I was the first to die)... and only a single wipe in the entire place! Very nice! It was great so see so many favorable loot rolls for BHA, too, though the experience of the place itself was worth it for me.

I can't wait to see a raid filled with enough BHA to qualify it for the guild achievements (would that be 15 of 25?) -- I'm almost always available for running any dungeons needed to help gear up folks whenever I'm online.

+1.

Also to Oily for carrying my 1fps-lagging-ass in boss fights. I gotta fix that before the next time we do this.

It's not quite *that* simple. I still have rings and trinkets that need upgrades on my priest before she will be eligible for LFR. She started with a new Vicious PVP set this week. JP only gets you one ring and one trinket, and I haven't seen those kinds of things drop yet. I have a nice off hand, but no new main hand yet.

Still, the new heroic 5-mans are a lot of fun too, even in a random group. People in my random groups were a little more forgiving of errors since this stuff is all new, I guess. I was in a group full of strangers last night that wiped a couple times and there was no finger-pointing or recriminations--mostly just confusion. I just kept patiently trying to explain to them what they needed to do. It was one of the heroics I've done already so it put me in the unusual (for me) position of knowing what I was doing.

I still think it's going to take me a few weeks to get one of my characters ready for LFR. Even Chuda, who you have been thoughtfully dragging through loot pinata runs, is loaded up with epic gear that isn't quite good enough.

I may be an outlying case, though, coming back to the game when I did, toward the end of the 4.2 timeframe. I never really had a chance to get Firelands gear. The dailies are rather time consuming. I haven't even unlocked half of the Firelands daily stuff on any of my characters. I was just about ready for Firelands raiding on my main when 4.3 arrived. I had enough JP saved up on Chuda to get a couple pieces of T12, but I still have a ways to go.

At this point, the 365's you'll get from the dailies are a wasted effort. As silly as it may sound, running the new randoms or even the old stuff for loot will get you better gear faster in the form of Valor and JP.

And, I'm randomly available Sunday night. Yay, raiding.

The 5-man quests will get you 378s for helm, belt, one ring, a wand, and and offhand (with spirit). I don't think those rewards overlap. However, in doing the quests you will probably get at least one drop that you can use.

So that is 6 upgrades that you can get in probably 2 or 3 hours.

I'll probably be on tonight (for some length of time) and while I'm not a tank with insta Q, being a healer decreases the q times somewhat.

Are we doing anything Sunday? Jey would like a new pair of daggers, the one from ZG is getting rusty... Daggers require the first three bosses in Normal dead, pull the 4th boss let shank pick her pocket, wipe or vanish to reset her, let Jey pick her pocket.

She would also like someone with slightly more skill to play her, but we all can't have everything.

If you are a spriest, ele shaman, or boomkin you can get two 378 rings out of the quests using the dps and spirit ring.

I already had the 378 wand from valor/now justice points so I got to upgrade both rings
