NFL 2011 Week 11
Kind of odd to have zero byes in the middle of the season like this, but oh well.
Raaaaaaaaaaiders 24 - Chargers 17: Feel free to start playing well whenever you're ready, San Diego.
Saints 26 - Falcons 23: That 4th and 1 call is going to haunt Mike Smith for a good long time.
Steelers 24 - Bengals 17: I've given up trying to figure out the AFC as a whole and the AFC North in particular. Pittsburgh may be the team of the moment but they still have that black mark of dropping two to Baltimore.
Rams 13 - Browns 12: Oklahoma beats Texas. Yeah, that's about all I got.
Bills 7 - Cowboys 44: Though the highlight that the press will focus on is the whole cheerleader bit, Dallas is quietly sneaking back into the playoff picture while Buffalo's fading. At least one member of that power couple will be busy in January.
Jaguars 17 - Colts 3: I wonder if the Oregon-Stanford game got better ratings in the Indianapolis area got better ratings than this one.
Tebows 17 - Chiefs 10: HE JUST WINS...on the road...against the AFC.
Redskins 9 - Dolphins 20: Maybe Miami's starting to think that sucking for Luck isn't all that it's cracked up to be.
Cardinals 21 - Eagles 17: Better enjoy your moral victory for benching DeSean Jackson, because that's the only victory you got on Sunday.
Texans 37 - Buccaneers 9: Was going to saying something about how odd it is that Houston could end up being the number 1 seed in the AFC, but then Matt Schaub got hurt.
Titans 30 - Panthers 3: Notice how no one's really talking about Cam Newton anymore?
Ravens 17 - Spoilhawks 22: Yeah, that's what I'm calling Seattle now. They deserve it after both this victory and that road win over the Giants. Don't ever underestimate them.
Lions 13 - Bears 37: Keep this up and SNL might have to bring back the Super Fans. It's not like George Wendt and Mike Myers are doing anything at the moment.
Giants 20 - 49ers 27: San Francisco's not just the second best team in the NFC, they're the second best team in the NFL.
Patriots 37 - Jets 16: Oh for the...I'm just glad I don't do full power rankings week-to-week otherwise the entire AFC would be seesawing all over the place.
Vikings 7 - Packers 45: Yeah, I think you can pencil in Green Bay as running the table in the regular season.
Week 11 Pick 'Em: Everyone was fairly close for the week, but it was none other than Gumbie who landed on Perfection Island for the week. Here's how everything broke down:
My record: 3-2
* = Somebody forgot to supply a wild card pick, so an extra ding in the loss column for you.
TheGameguru's reign as sole leader lasted only a week as now Minase and Nightmare join him tied for first place. Here's the year to date totals:
My record: 36-14
Your guys' record:
Still got nothing from Landshrk83 (24-21); oh well. Taking the week off are Indianapolis, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and Houston, which means you don't have a few gimmiees to chose from for the wild card. Here are the mandatory picks:
Jaguars at Browns: Hmmmmmm, this one is a toughie. Could go either way, really. But, Jacksonville has a running game, Cleveland has a disaster not involving someone taking their talents to South Beach. Jaguars.
Bengals at Ravens: Considering the bipolar play of Baltimore lately, this isn't necessarily a gimmiee for them. But, as many have pointed out, they seem to follow a gut-wrenching loss with a statement win. Ravens.
Seahawks at Rams: By a similar token, Seattle seems to follow a similar pattern: surprise upset wins followed by a string of failures Rams.
Titans at Falcons: Atlanta's hurting pretty bad after that loss to New Orleans and Tennessee is flying high after that crushing of Tampa Bay. With Matt Schaub out at Houston, Tennessee is poised to make a run for the top of the AFC South. Titans.
For my wild card, I'm taking the Lions over the Panthers in the Kitty Cat Bowl.
Enjoy the week, folks.
