I did something stupid in my immersion game: I tried to travel from Morthal to Dawnstar to Whitrun. I was near Morthal after finishing one of the main questline quests and decided (stupidly) to go back to Whiterun the long way. Unprepared for the cold. I almost died three times because of exposure. The only reason I made it back to Whiterun was that I stocked up on firewood in Dawnstar. Even then it was a close thing until I got out of the snowy area and back into the tundra.

Note to self: get a coat if going north!

It was very tense and great fun. In the SS below, you can see my vision has turned blurry due to exposure.

I've also been messing with my draw distance. I like this shot of dusk over the mountains:

That pretty much describes my character right now. I maxed out 1H, Shields, and Heavy Armor, so I switched my level 50ish character over to 2H/Light Armor in order to keep levelling. I went from being nigh-unkillable to getting my ass kicked by every Draugr Death Overlord I encountered (and at my level, they're ALL Death Overlords). Ancient Dragons could just land and eat my character in a single bite. I guess all those skills and perks actually made a pretty big difference.

QFMFT. Level 68, all combat and most stealth skills 100, hey let's try magic!

Now I can't even take on two frost trolls at once!

Destruction and restoration were easier, but slow, Shadowmere and I found a Pit Wolf in a cage and I spammed flames and healing hands at him for half a day with rubber bands on the triggers and a set of armor that reduced my casting cost to zero.

One-handed is daedric dagger, unimproved, with elemental fury shout and heal other at Shadowmere, two-handed suggests the same but with the ebony blade from that daedric quest. Armors suggest finding a giant camp with one giant and enchants to keep restoration free.

I will get my character to 81! pickpocket will not be fun.

Are you serious? Pickpocket was my first skill to 100. It's super easy. Pay someone for training, then steal the money back, rinse, repeat etc.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper easy. In fact I'm pretty sure I almost had it maxed by the time I got to Whiterun.

I got jumped by some werebears, and one of them transformed but glitched so it was still using the human model with the werebear animations so his limbs were all horribly stretched out. Then I killed him, and this happened:

It kept twitching, too. Super creepy.

Literally an Abomination

Funny, but you could pretty easily fit that into the lore - what with transformations and everything

As any programmer will tell you, that's a feature.

I want to BE a werebear!!

A lot of people on the official forums agree with you on that. They are also somewhat obsessed, as of late, with having spears.

They want to be spear wielding werebears? That is ridiculous. Werebears are clearly two handed hammer wielders. Maybe dual maces. Maybe.

Ack! Joke averted because image wouldn't work! :d

They're just trying to exercise their constitutional right to be armed bears.

Wait, that's right! Weren't spears on the Dragonborn menu? I could swear I heard them promised as being included in that. Was I just hallucinating?

Hallucinating. No promises, just signs that had pointed to the inclusion of spears. But the end result is that they're javelins, and only useable by the Riekling enemies (you can pick them up, but can't use them).

Hehe, you said pointed in response to spears... hehe

Also, took me 186 hours, but I finally got all 15 Daedric artifacts. Achievement unlocked!

Congrats Black Sabre,
Ive picked up about 13 I think but over 6 or 7 different characters so even If i got the last two I cant get the achievement.

Spoiler:

Also the last one is also .....not in my nature to do, a failing of my RPG heart I know but ....man that's harsh.

Yeah, to be honest, all of the Daedric quests are a bit iffy. I just figure, game mode on, I want that achievement and did it. Now that I actually have it though, second playthrough, yeah, some of those Daedric lords are going to die by fire if it can be done.

Also, the new Nordic Carved Armor and weapons are pretty damn awesome looking. Too bad their wasn't a light version. Maybe there is a mod for that

It really doesn't do to think too hard about the quests, sometimes. I've started down the path to retrieve the horn of Jurgen Windcaller, and...

Spoiler:

So somebody's taken it already. How exactly did they get there, past the place where you have to Whirlwind Sprint, not to mention past the gigantic spider, or alternately, through a door which can only be opened from the inside?

I know it's not 'playing along', but I always wondered why the all-powerful-dragonborn couldn't just go the wrong way and take the short exit route if he found it.

I guess I just watched that Skyrim game jam video too many times and then read something somewhere about Dragonborn.

GAH! It's like microsoft clippy! It looks like you're making a potion. Would you like help with that?

Was it this old post of mine?

No spears, but we did get werebears! (To fight, anyway.)

Oh, and I should note, that even though I've got 84 hours on record, this was the first time I've gotten to that particular quest...

Are you sure you weren't sleep-questing and left a note for yourself?
