The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Mod Thread

All my mods were installed via Mod Organiser, so I didn't have any in the Skyrim directory anyway. Just had to remove the ENB files and away I went.

I will be getting Enderal tonight! I just have vanilla Skyrim from Steam so hopefully it will be painless to install Enderal and play either one.

Finally got to play a bit last night. I'm liking it so far. Barely into the world yet though.

I am finding it hard though - which is reminding me of Nehrim. In fact, back in the day Nehrim forced me to recalibrate my gameplay because it was not Oblivion. It eventually helped me re-visit New Vegas and ultimately enjoy it after I bounced off of it because it was not Fallout 3.

I got to play a bit last night. It sure is pretty and I like their world so far but it has normal fan made issues.

I have had to reload a couple times because I got caught on rocks, and in the first boat area my companion trapped me in a corner but wouldn't ever move. Then I had to resort to their forums to figure out where the first key was. It was obvious in hindsight and I am sure they thought no one would have a problem but it was buried under stuff and I missed it. Those kind of glitches would be caught (usually) by a company's testing.

Still it is beautiful and I want to know more about the world.

You can open up console and turn on noclip to get out of things you get stuck in. Then turn it back off once you are free.

I will have to try that.

I was just wondering: do we have an ETA for SE compatible mods?

Three to five years. It's always three to five years.

Actually, ported mods are starting to come in fairly quickly. Nexus has a new project for Special Edition; you can check there for your favorites.

No SkyUI yet, though, which is of course a showstopper. Soon! (hopefully)

No official SkyUI support since the original creator has moved on, but there's a no-guarantees hacked version of the non-SE version that lots of people have been having good luck with. That makes me optimistic that someone else will be able to take over the project with a relative minimum of hassle.

I've got 35 mods installed at the moment and things are smooth. I'm managing some via bethesda.net and some via Nexus, but so far everything's working well.

Obligatory screenshot!

Ooh what's the mist mod called? very pretty.

I think that's part of the Vivid Weathers mod. It's on both Nexus and Bethesda.

Thanks much!

From what I understand, there are many mods that depend on Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE). And according to the devs on that one, there's no timeframe yet for release.

mateofalcone, are you using the hacked SkyUI?

No, I'm using the vanilla UI unfortunately. All of my mods are geared toward making the game prettier. I'll jump on a decent UI mod if it shows up though.

You can use version 2.2 of SkyUI and get a majority of the functionality, but you get an SKSE error in the background of the menu. Someone figured out how to fix the error message by using a java editor but I couldn't get that to work.

I'm always interested in the mods, but I always feel like I'm lost looking at the selection and all the compatibility warnings. If it's not a huge hassle, would you be able to list the names of everything installed? (I can do the work of finding them on my own.)

mateofalcone wrote:

[...] and Bethesda.

Aha! I hadn't bothered to suss out where else those were listed outside of the in-game manager and I'm only managing a few mods via NMM (though it handles changing load order much better than Bethesda's method). Thanks!

It's already paying off too. I see that Apachii Skyhair recently dropped. I've been waiting for the uh 'Geralt-cut'. Guess I'll be firing the game up tonight and hitting the console command.

edit: Amusingly, it appears to be available for the Xbox and not PC right now.

So maybe 35 was an understatement...but here's a list. Everything was chosen to enhance visuals or immersion.

Holy moly that's a list. Gracias.

The Realistic Lighting Overhaul mod has been pretty great so far. It really gives a sense of dread to delving, and places where the dungeon makes use of light are more dramatic.

I had been using the ELE mod, but I think I prefer RLO.

Is there a mod for shoving your companion out of the way?

Because Barbas keeps standing between me and the exit, and it's starting to get on my nerves.

Of course there is

Unrelenting force.

I finally ran into Adventurers basement yesterday. It's ability to take crafting and other things from your inventory and sort them out into rooms by type and such is pretty awesome. It removes a lot of the pain of vanilla interface for me.

And now for my new favorite lighting mod: Enhanced Lights and FX

I tried a few, but this one put my jaw on the floor.

My new laptop arrived Tuesday, so I've spent the past few days modding up my game. The result is better than I've ever seen before.

I still need a map mod, but I'm very pleased with the results of all the visual mods.

Anyone have any experience with the PS4 ?version and mods? If so, I would appreciate some recommendations.
I put 100 plus hours into the PC version so looking to make the PS4 experience a bit newer (quests, systems)

Thanks!

Are former Mod Organizer users doing okay with a switch back to Nexus Mod Manager?

Any of the same mods people recommended for PC that are available for PS4. Set PS4 as the platform filter on https://mods.bethesda.net/#en/worksh... and then further filter by category or name. Unfortunately, the limitations set by Sony are going to prevent a lot of the better ones from being ported over. I didn't see the unofficial patch listed, which is definitely a must-have.

Godzilla Blitz wrote:

I haven't really noticed any dramatic changes from how NMM worked when I used it for Skyrim (before switching to MO), its UI is still frustrating, but it gets the job done. There is a beta version of Mod Organizer 2 that can be made to work with Skyrim, but Nexus hired the Mod Organizer developer to work on NMM, so it's not likely to get updates.
