9pm PST, I think.

Edit: double tannhausered!

The length of this day is killing me. I can't remember the last time I've been so pumped for a game.

Bah, the first thing I have to do tomorrow, on my day off, is help my sister move. It'll be mid-afternoon (hopefully) by the time I've got my copy.

It's 20:30 here, and the Steam store page says 5 more hours. I thought it was going to be a midnight launch. I DEMAND REPARATIONS!

I know there's a bunch of live feeds and stuff out there, but I thought I'd point out that Elder-Geek (a site not many people seem to know) is doing a live stream fundraiser for Child's Play called "Full Hearts Marathon." This is the second year they've done it and this year they're streaming Skyrim.

You can donate now, but the stream doesn't start until 6pm EST. You can find everything you need here

Also, they'll be giving away of raffling off some goodies through the marathon. You can see those here.

So, please stop by, they're a small site that puts out some incredibly good work (especially their video reviews) and I think they deserve more recognition. Also, it's for charity, so you have to show up.

I wish that my two children under 5 would realize the epicness of this game. Though I totally know its just a game and they are way more important, I just want like 8 hours of un-interrupted dad time. And some gin....yes....some gin.

You're GMT+1? It releases at 01:00 because the midnight release is for GMT. And it says 5 hours because it doesn't transition until a full hour passes.

I was really looking forward to digging into this tomorrow when my copy arrives from Amazon. Unfortunately, my wife just called to let me know that my mother-in-law is coming for the weekend. Skyrim time delayed

Damn, and I thought I had it bad when I was whining a few pages back about my sister-in-law coming in over the weekend!

At least she likes to get her drink on.

Man, all the stories here about in-laws and wives, etc interrupting Skyrim time makes me glad I've put off marriage for so long.

AHhhhh that explains it. Karmic payback for my cunning plan to buy Skyrim in British currency to save a few euros!

Tell her to have a good time hanging out with her mom and hide in the basement?

So, anyone encounter a perk calculator yet?

I just deposited my paycheck and had my fiancee buy it on Steam. YES.

88 posts to go! Surely we can hit 2500 posts before the game unlocks anywhere?

Edit: Nevermind! I've been informed that the game has already unlocked in Australia. WAY TO RUIN IT, AUSTRALIA!

My NaNoWriMo novel is about to experience a sudden arrival of dragons.

I'm pretty sure this is how magical realism got started anyway.

So, what are you guys doing to prepare? I've taken my rig apart, cleaned dust out of all fans, defragmented every drive, and run CCleaner. The home office is tidied up, and everything looks good for an uninterrupted day of playing tomorrow.

Mainly I just finished my second play-through of Rage last night. My plans of picking the game up at midnight and playing until I lapsed into a Skyrim induced coma have been ruined by a stupid meeting at work that I can't get out of. To add insult to injury the meeting is scheduled earlier than I usually even get up. I am tempted to play Skyrim all night and then go to the meeting without sleeping, but I know that I wouldn't make it.

Wish I would have had time/motivation to finish DE:HR as well because now I have no idea when I will get to it. I think between Skyrim, Forza 4, and Halo Anniversary my time between now and ME3 is spoken for.

Also I got a weekend invite into The Old Republic beta that I can't decide if I want to mess with or not. If I can download and install everything tonight before picking up Skyrim I might try to find an hour or two to mess with it over the weekend.

And then the sexy cars followed.

Oh man, I'm totally going to get beer, bread, cheese, and meat for tonight.

I expect groups of Goodjers to start dropping out of this thread, as timezone after timezone succumbs.

Yeah, those always seem doable until around 4-5am when you realize, "Dear god, what have I done?!".

That's when you reach for the mead. I say again: amateurs!

Yea thats when you get slapped with the realization that you're not 20 anymore and that you're f*cked.

6 to 7am seems to be my breaking point but that is probably due to me working a later shift and waking up later in the morning.

Found one!

This one simulates the process of leveling up skills so you can get a reasonable expectation of the order in which you will be able to take perks. Definitely useful, but I'm hoping to find something more visual as well.

SO UNFAIR !!!

Just got forwarded this. How to convince Steam you are in Australia.

Don't f*ck around with Valve. They have IP records for you; magically moving to Oz just before playing Skyrim is a great way to get yourself banned and lose access to the game entirely.

Any fellow console philistines going to a midnight release? I'm considering it.

Mine's on the way from Amazon (.99 release-day shipping), and I have to work tomorrow anyway.
