Battlefield 3 Catch-All

I'd be up for that.

I'm down for helping people out with assignments. Helping others with their assignments can be refreshing as your tactics will change based on what others need to get done.

Also, mortars can be destroyed for the EOD bot assignment.

pfft tactics? oh innocent/sweet gimpy you.

no. i say we do it in an empty server, hardcore farmer style!

and then if we have time, go unleash our fury on a different server with reckless abandon... and with no assignments to worry about. >:D

Rambo tag takes 5 people and a server without balancing so we can do 4:1. Tactics are better for certain tags. Empty server style is fine, I'll definitely help with that.

Yeah, that's what I thought you meant too. I think Gimpy just doesn't know the evil that is Pikey :p

I'm still down for it... my ping would suck, but if we're just finding an empty server to farm assignments, who cares. Still... what's the limit here? I don't exactly wanna die 100 times and totally FUBAR my KD I'm still a stat whore dammit!

Didn't they also put some hard coding in last patch or so that required a certain number of players to have stats and assignments count? Seem to remember something like that.

Pretty sure it was that there has to be 4 people in a server to have the game start.

You know we could just find a random server with people already playing on it, go to different teams and then just find a place to setup and destroy with the EOD, then take turns until we all have the achievement. Probably be able to do it in a single round.

There's always a medic to milk you as much as we can, for whatever tricky assignment that involves dying.

That said. I think it'd be safe to say we can rule out some of the armored kill assignments. Like the kill 50 choppers with jets one. Besides who would want to try to get the jet shoot at Black's damn chopper lag-warping around everywhere like he's a bad guy in some top down arcade space shooter from the 90s.

And gimpy. there are ALWAYS '2 players to start' servers that are completely dead for our taking. >:P

And yeah, we would ideally want 4 people for maximum efficiency anyway.

The rambo one.. hmmm... is there no way we could get more than like 8 people for shameless stats whoring?

Speaking of planning evil things.

Play at Caspian Border. Then land a jet in front of the helicopter spawn. After that have an opposing player get into the helicopter. The jet shoots the helicopter until it is disabled. Player gets out of the helicopter. Jet continues to shoot the helicopter until destroyed. As long as the destroyed vehicle points show up it counts. This works best on instant vehicle spawns. This same thing should work for all the destroy x amount of vehicles with y vehicle assignments.

As far as getting kills with the jet that is best to get on your own. Or you do the same thing as the helicopter but have a medic there to revive the person standing in front of the jet.

Didn't DICE implement a 4 player minimum start with or before the Aftermath expansion specifically to make doing things like I have above more difficult?

naw it was even before close quarters came out. they did it to stop stats padding of other sorts. mainly KD farming.

but servers already found a way around that i m afraid.

Wait, so you could actually just revive.... so the one player gets the kill, and the player who dies gets revived and the player doing the reviving gets the medic medal.

Yeah, that's insane. I wonder how many people out there have actually been doing that already. It's weird, when I look at it like that I start to get a bit itchy and not want to do it. I know right now all my stats are hard earned and yeah... I don't know.

Still, getting that damn equipment one and vehicle ones would be ok since they are just vehicles.

New camo assignments are up.

I don't like the PP-19 besides in gunmaster when it's the first gun out of the pistol set.

Guaranteed everyone will have the M416 one done in about 3 minutes. Always find it interesting how so many people flock to the most OP weapon and just use it non stop.

That gun is atrocious. It loses in close range to just about everything, even pistols. At medium range it beats most pistols, and it can take someone out if you suppress them. At long range you better hope that the other player is not paying attention because you'll have to take pot shots for a while.

I was happy to get almost all 50 of my kills with each kit in almost one round each playing TDM. I would nearly get 50 kills each round so I basically played each round as a different class. I think I ended up getting the assignment done in 6 rounds. Norshar Canals is probably the best place to go for the assignment. The Aftermath maps are painful to play on because you rarely have anyone at close range and the PP-19 is more of an annoyance to other players rather than a legitimate threat.

I did pretty good when I went for the M240B kills. A mixture of run and gun and bipod camping got me 100 kills in 2 rounds playing on Norshar TDM.

.

It's only advantage is its large magazine, and that really doesn't make up for much when you can run extended mags on another PDW.

P90 beats it in a landslide. MP7 with extended mags beats both combined.

I get why they included assignments for the ACR and the M416 but you have to scratch your head a little at the PP-19.

It's situational... OP, I'm not really sure. You will get beat every time in close quarters if you're running a 416 against people with AEK or even some PDWs depending on range. It's a decent all-arounder but I don't think it's the best in any category. It's popular because it can be used effectively at all ranges, but it's not the best at all ranges.

Every other PDW is better than the PP-19 for me. It used to be close between the PP-19 and the UMP for the worst PDW, but when they bumped the damage on the UMP, it became pretty decent for close quarters.

Another thing I learned yesterday: Markaz Monolith is not fun for TDM for me. Just a bunch of roof spawners trying to snipe, both teams locked down with very little movement across the big open firing zones, etc. The other Aftermap maps are fine for all modes, but that one is not something I enjoy.

It's like comfort food man. would YOU ever get sick of eating burgers or emu pies for lunch every day?

Kangaroo burgers? Hmmmm, now I really want to try that. I do know emu pies changed my life. No pies. will. ever. EVER. come close.

Not as much 'humor' but I loved this one.

OMG i have tears from the first one...2nd one is still funny though

Didn't they update awhile back so that after death (revive or respawn), the game would remember what the state of your laser or tac light was and keep it in that state?

I've gotten into the habit of turning lasers on and off when I'm trying to stealth or re-peak a spot without being quite so obvious. But the game isn't remembering that I've had my laser off.

I know that your fire mode is remembered. The tac laser is always on when you spawn I think.

Gimpy_Butzke wrote:

Well that's crazy talk. I'll have to pay attention, but I think it also switches states to on when you get revived, too. Maybe I'm misremembering.

So, GWJ dogfight night?
