Battlefield 3 Catch-All

That's a dumb rule. Why wouldn't you just run the server infantry only? Probably because less people would join?

Since when is there a tank on that map anyway?

It's been on Rush for awhile.

But if you get kicked, do the kills and medals count?

I've found that if I've been disconnected from a server for some reason then I don't get my awards etc. Is this still the case, or has it been fixed?

I really wouldn't care. Knowing that I ran over that many people at one time with a tank is worth it.

bf2,bc2,bf3 has always done stat totals at the end of rounds. If you leave for any reason before it ends you lose the stats for that round.

This isn't correct. I was disconnected from a game with Mannish and I still got credit for the victory and all kills I got in the round. Battle report here.

then that's a recent change.

I think it's been this way for a long time.

(Thanks for posting my horrid round trying to use the LSAT for the first time for the achievement! I really am not good with the majority of LMGs unless I spend a lot of time consistently using them. I was getting smacked around every way possible that round.)

It wasnt like that at the start of BF3. I had rounds not show up on the logs before.

Yeah, I figured it had changed. I think it also worked in BC2 as well since I'm pretty sure I'd server hop and still get the score.

The LSAT is horrible. I hate using it, but if you have to I would recommend trying to play in more cramped maps than Karkand. I think it would be best served for you to be toward the medium range looking at choke points. Norshar Canals might be a good option for that. Or perhaps playing some CQD might work well.

Back to the stat tracking. I'm pretty sure that DICE implemented this either from the start of BF3 or not long after it launched. It's probably for people who quit a round before it ends. I've received many losses from quitting a game at the start of the round and getting the battle report loss half an hour after I left the game.

Yup, I get the loss as well even if I get kicked. Which really friggin' sucks when you're winning.

As for the LSAT assignment, I'm not even going to try until I have the 25 mortar kills. I have 1. Yeah, I hate the mortar. I suck with it.

Play Grand Bazaar 64 players and spam the entrances to the B flag or the flag itself if the opposing team controls it. I think on a good round I would get 5-6 kills. Be mindful that other players will want to mortar you so keep an eye out for mortars on the map for you to take out before they get you. My favorite spot to set up my mortar was in the small alley behind the D flag.

Ok, I'll give that a shot. Not very fun to be honest, but if I ever do want that assignment completed, I'll try it.

The mortar is a very fun way to troll snipers perched on high rooftops, especially in some of the new maps. nothing wrecks their day like mortar rounds landing on them when they're dug in, bein' elite and all.

The equipment destroyed with an EOD bot is currently the bane of my existence. What a pain in the *ss.

Hahahaha, I've been doing that EOD one for ages. I've only got 2 out of the 10 equipment destroyed so far. Not enough snipers dropping beacons. The other problem is every time i whip it out, i usually get shot. It's cost me many lives so far.

Norshar Canals TDM is where I destroyed the bulk of my equipment with the EOD bot. Recon like placing tugs and beacons to make sure they can get stay in the areas they like to snipe from.

There are a lot of C4 carpets being laid around M-Coms. It isn't exactly stealthy but it's sometimes worth lobbing a grenade into an M-Com room. Last night I managed to blow up a load of C4 along with two guys who were, presumably, still distributing the stuff around the room.

I forgot but do mines fall under equipment?

Nope. I drove an EOD bot around and disarmed a whole whack of mines. Didn't count towards the assignment.

For the "non serious" modes, I've decided I much prefer Scavenger to Gun Master. It's probably because I'm much better at Scavenger, but I also feel it has more room to outwit people vs Gun Master, which is more based on pure shooting skill.*

I agree with everything here, but I also think the new maps are better.

Gun Master's on the new maps, too.

Really? I guess I just never play the CQ maps anymore. *shrug*

Yeah, I joined on a game of GM with Gimpy on the Market map the other day.

The GM rounds I played with Mannish on the Aftermath maps were actually pretty bad for the amount of players. The maps are far too large for the mostly close quarters weapons that are found in Gun Master.

That's one game mode that even on CQ needs more players than DICE recommends. One round last night, I ran around for what seemed like five minutes at the start of a round without seeing an enemy.

The logs were pretty damn buggy. But it was pretty early on when if you'd disconnect or quit manually, your stats would stick around in the gray section (UNLESS you reconnected to the server, which would send things haywire a bit).

I think even kicks result in grayed out stats that are uploaded to the master server at the end.

we should really get to gether sometime (will need at least 4 i thinK) and take out the petty assignments.
