Solium Infernum - from the creator of Armageddon Empires

Alright, alright, alright. Ding-ding-ding. Guess what happened last time in SI?

That's right baby. This may or may not be a lie. I don't know. It was the judge's decision.

Spoiler:

Gunner won actually.

We are now up for another game. We just need one more for a three-player match. However, if there are people interested we can bump it up to four. Five or more and it can get more difficult for myself tracking players down for their turns. So right now, four is the maximum amount of players.

Let me know here if you want to Go. To. Hell.

Great game with you guys, I look forward to being your rightful ruler of hell! I did take the Prince of Lies perk, so yes Strangeblades, you just keep telling yourself you were the victor over in that corner there.

I think I'll sit the next game out so that someone else can have a chance to play. I highly encourage it -- the game is quite a hoot! The time commitment per day is also 10 minutes tops, usually less.

Hey everybody,

May I get in on the next game if there's still an open spot? Thanks a lot!

Alright we've got four players lined up.

1) Myself

2) A guy

3) Another guy

4) And some other guy-person.

I need emails from you all. For those that have already sent me emails thanks a bunch. For those that haven't I'm gonna get ya. All new SI information will be posted at the SI thread. Go here for news about hell. http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/4...

Good luck everyone! I would say watch out for Strangeblades, but recent samples show he has a 50% chance of accidentally having his lord commit suicide. So you know, go easy on the poor fella. He wants to be evil so bad.

Alright fellow demon dudes. Let's get the ball rolling. I've got yer emails locked in and you will be seeing an invitation file sent to your emails sometime today.

The name of this game will be:

ThatDoesntGoThere

Enjoy.

The invitations have been sent out. Love them. Love them long time. Each one of you got your own invite to further obfuscate who is who.

OK. I`ve got one turn in. That player gets a gold star stuck to his chart. The rest will get disdain. If you would like to remove your disdain sticker from the fridge-chart please send in your turns.

I was slow to start, but am now breathing fire. We are receiving turns via email, correct? I've sent my first turn orders in. No rush, just wanted to make sure I was not the one holding up the game.

Nope, you're good to go. There might be a delay due to it being the holidays.

Due to some fraking fracas (technical glitches) I'm opening the floor for a new multiplayer game. Any takers? The previous players are more than welcome to step back into Hell.

OK. We've got three slots already filled up for the next round of Solium Infernum.

I'd like one more player but I'll squeeze in two more if there is interest.

I'd be up for a game.

OK. We've got four players now. Welcome back ALG.

I'll wait till tomorrow afternoon for ONE MORE REQUEST and then we are locked at four (or five).

I'd be interested as well, but it's been a long time since I last played so I'd very much be relearning the game.

You are in and we are locked at five players.

Oh right. Could you PM your email?

And just in case I lost it could PM me your email?

So the roster:

Strangeblades
Dirk Kneymeyer
Ken Mok
Jon Shafer
Dreaded Gazebo
Alien Love Gardener

OK, OK. I said five max but I'm from Hell. I lied.

No problem.

Yup, things did not get off to a good start for me. There we were, all scattered about the ash fields like a twisted version of a shotgun-start to a Chamber of Commerce golf game. Just below my Stronghold of Doom TM was this sweet little tower-of-power, the Altar of Abomination. Why was that important? Almost each Place of Power provides Prestige points every turn. The one with the most Prestige wins.

IMAGE(http://i.imgur.com/5vWLA4G.png?1)

My starting army materialized into being at 1. On Turn 1 my forces moved to 2 then 3. On the second turn I went for gold at 4 and tripped. My fear was being left behind in the Prestige race and I wanted some kind of income coming in by the second turn. I sent my guys in and bang-boom my guys did not come out.

That means my Chosen will be reformed and come back to the board. If this was an army I bought they would have been erased permanently. IMAGE(http://i.imgur.com/8x4pyma.gif)

As for the others, you can see Typhoid's personal army moving about claiming land. For the first few turns players gobble up as much land as they can. You move an army onto it and it becomes yours. How you can claim another's land I'll save for another post.

Next up: Turn 3 and Sepulchre will learn what she can do with the resources she has accumulated thus far.

This one? I'll take it.

After the loss of my main force, the one you start the game with, I was left without an army at a crucial time. Grabbing land is a big deal in the beginning. You can nail down places of power. You can block the progress of other armies (the little icons on the board).

I needed a unit to do these things and I luckily enough I had the resources to purchase The Burning Legion. I could have purchased an artifact, a weapon or a magical spell but none of those come with feet (well, actually, some crazy artifact-mechanical doo-dads do but, eh). I needed boots on the ground taking land.

Yup. My new dudes are the red skeleton sitting in the chair.

Those dudes at the bottom are Dreaded Gazebo's Frozen Lords. They are in a ripe position to take the Altar of Abomination which has already been hammered by my forces. It will be a bit easier to take with a fresh undamaged force.

Make me 500 lattes and bring me the best one!

Depending on your character's attributes you get to make one, two or three orders per turn. Most starting characters will have only two orders to make. My first order of the day was to buy some dudes. My second was to order my MINIONS! to collect some resources. How they go about collecting the various types I don't ask. It's not like I'm a saint.

Next turn: What other options I can explore with what I get.

NOTE: These posts are not meant to be educational or explain the entirety of the game, so please don't let this be your guide. There are great links in the OP you can check out.

And the Lord say, "Kisseth Your Asseth Goodbye"

IMAGE(http://i.imgur.com/V6uRkuc.jpg?1)
Yup. That's a butt load of bad-ass bad.

Lots of action happening here. Several Places of Power not taken and everyone moving their personal legions (the ones you start with) and a hired legion (The Accursed Company).

When you purchase an additional legion another token is placed on the board. It is a duplicate of your starting legion's. So that little fat guy in the upper right belongs to Dreaded Gazebo. Both of his legions differ in abilities.

The early game is about land grabbing. Gazebo has already stamped his mark on the tiles surrounding the Vaults of Avarice. This means it will take extraordinary means for another demon lord to cross his land. You can tell it's Gazebo's land because each of the tiles he's crossed have his symbol. Locking the Vaults this way means it won't come under threat of conquest by another demon and Gazebo can return to take the Vaults any time he likes.

Severus's Disciples and Dreaded Gazebo's Blood have secured the lands on other side of the Temple of Lust. This means they both have easy access to it later (unless Severus takes it next turn.) Gazebo's land ownership adjacent to the Temple will mean he can freely approach it and attempt to conquer it. Who will take it? It's a matter of timing. If Severus grabs it by force his legion will be weakened and so will the Temple's forces. This would be ideal for Gazebo. His legion will have an easier time taking a weakened guard at the Temple. The struggle for Places of Power can go back and forth.

Burning Legion is gonna start a forest fire at the Tree of Woe

My new legion, The Burning Legion, have made their way across the grey lands (follow the numbers in red) in pursuit of The Tree of Woe. Hopefully, my hired guns can do what my personal legion could not at the Altar of Abomination. Those yahoos still have not slithered back from the ether.

Moving my Burning Legion was my first order. The second order was to yell at my minions some more. I sure do love yelling at minions to get me some resources.

It appears the mercenary Frozen Lords might take a shot at the Altar. The hired Hell Blades sure can't. Both myself and Dreaded Gazebo own the lands between the Blades and the Altar. It takes quite a bit for another demon to cross another's lands.

Quick note, just because the lower left Place of Power is called the Mouth of Abbadon doesn't mean it's his.

Quicker note, that place called Pandemonium is Hell's capital city. No demon owns the place.

Next up: Turn 6 and possibly Turn 7

Your access to Pandemonium makes you dangerous. DANGEROUS I sez!
