WoW 5.0 - Mists of Pandaria

Since they're selling mounts for $25, I wouldn't hold my breath for $10 for 3 sets. I'd love to see that, but chances are they'll charge quite a bit more.

WoWHead pops up with news about Pet Battles.

Also, love the first comment:

Dzxz - yesterday at 7:00 PM (Patch 4.3.3)

I want to be the very best...

Spoiler:

Kite mount = teh awesome!!!

Yes, Blizzard may be axing off the valor gear vendor, but if the loot system that GC propsed the other day works and goes in, then it won't matter, because you'll kill the boss roll to see who gets something from it, and then the game gives you a class/spec specific item from the loot table.

In LFR. Still the normal loot system in regular raids though.

Aye, but if you can upgrade LFR gear to the near-equal of raid gear, how big a deal is it, honestly?

You appear to have skimmed my post, so I added some emphasis. As to RMT with the Guardian Cub? If you're trying to make gold selling those, you're wasting your time. Prices tanked within a week of that going live, and the changes to pets coming in MOP make that and any other thing like it an extraordinarily poor method for turning cash into currency.

Again, Blizzard of all companies has been, for all intents and purposes diametrically opposed to RMT in their games. They do not tolerate from third parties and they haven't implemented anything that is a long term means of doing it; vanity items simply aren't going to cut it.

Combined with the new class ability Stampede, I think someone realized we needed a bit of a make up call for Camouflage.

"A Murder of Crows" might be the best name for an attack ever.

Divine Star: Reworked: Fires a Divine Star in front of you, traveling 20 yds, causing 1849 to 3081 Divine damage to all enemies and 1 healing to all allies in its path. After reaching its destination it will return to you, also dealing damage and healing to all targets in its path. Now has a 15 sec cooldown, 30 yd range, and costs 7% of base mana.

Halo: New. Creates a ring of Holy energy around you that quickly expands and grows in power, up to 30 yds away. Deals up to 18487 to 30811 Holy damage to enemies, and up to 0 healing to allies, with the greatest effect at 25 yds. 28% of Base Mana, 30 yd range, 2 sec cast, 60 sec cooldown.

Cascade: New. Launches a Holy bolt at the target that grows in power as it travels, which causes up to 13557 damage to an enemy, or up to 13557 healing to an ally. This effect can bounce from allies to other allies, or from enemies to other enemies. Each time it bounces it will split into 2 bolts, preferring farther away targets, and never hitting the same target twice. Cascade can bounce up to 4 times. 14% of Base Mana, 40 yd range, Instant, 25 sec cooldown.

I thought if we did the D3 preorder deal that we got access to the 5.0 beta?

I've not seen anything since it started

I was told they are slowly increasing the numbers of invites going out?

Also, whats the difference between divine and holy for priests?

You mean Disc and Holy? Discipline has the bubble. Holy doesn't. Disc is a monster in PvP. Holy is very good PvE spec.

No I mean this: causing 1849 to 3081 Divine damage to all enemies and 1 healing to all allies

Its from Michael Zenke's quote above.

Divine is just so fine!!

Sorry, m.t. I looked back at Zenke's post and read right over divine.

I think Tanglebones' guess is probably the best. It's fabulous!

It's just a damage type, I think.

Also, I would imagine the '1 healing' is placeholder.

I think you're confusing the World of Warcraft Annual pass with a D3 pre-order. Pre-ordering D3 gets you no WoW benefits.

From the D3 pre-order FAQ:

What bonuses do I get for pre-ordering Diablo III?
The benefit for players who pre-order Diablo III is that they will have the ability to download and pre-install Diablo III before the game launches. Players who have the game pre-installed will be able to jump straight into the game the moment Diablo III hits the shelves!

Note: While these presale copies of Diablo III may be downloaded and installed prior to the game’s release, the game itself will not be playable until Diablo III’s official launch date.

Or he's referring to the annual pass, which worked as a D3 preorder and a guaranteed entry into the beta.

+1

I know it said i was guaranteed beta access and dont have it as of yet.

Me neither, but I'm guessing they are sending those invites out in waves since there are around million of us out there.

It said guaranteed beta access, but not WHEN that access will be.

A little searching on the usual WoW news sites will turn up the information that Blizzard is rolling out invites to Annual Pass purchasers in a controlled fashion so as to avoid exploding their servers.

Michael Zenke wrote:

The point being made was that "Divine" isn't a damage type currently present in the game.

I'd suspect someone just goobered typing in the description and it's supposed to be Holy. With Blizzard doing so many things to simplify mechanics I'd be a bit surprised if they decided to add a new damage type at this point.

I do have to say though, that a spell that shot out a drag queen who damaged all enemies in her flight path would totally rock. I bet someone has already coded that in Second Life though!

As Zero pointed out, they're working on it. Blue post from Bashiok yesterday:

Bashiok wrote:

We appreciate that everyone who signed up for the Annual Pass is genuinely excited about seeing the new content and helping us test it for release. We definitely want to get all Annual Pass holders into the beta test as soon as humanly (and technologically) possible.

To do so, we need to make sure that our new systems remain stable as we add players. If we let everyone in at the exact same time, we risk damaging the stability of the service, and then no one would be able to play. We can’t let everyone in at the same time; however, all Annual Pass holders will be invited before any opt-ins.

We’re in the process of sending 100,000 invites to Annual Pass holders, and we recommend keeping an eye on your email and Battle.net account for an invite to come explore Pandaria.

Rest assured that we WILL get all of our Annual Pass holders into the beta test. Thank you for the passion and support you’ve shown for the game, and please be patient with us as we continue driving hard toward finishing up Mists of Pandaria and getting it into your hands as quickly as possible.

Then three hours ago he announced that the initial wave of 100,000 invites have gone out - although not all the emails have been sent yet, they'll be out by the end of the day today and the client should show up in the battle.net account management for those chosen even if the email isn't there yet. He also said that they were starting up a second round of 100,000 people. So that'll be two sets down and eight or so more to go, I guess.

Got my invite as well. Can't decide on my monk name yet.

DAMN YOU GARROSH! DAMN YOU TO THE TWISTED NETHER!

I wouldn't worry too much. According to rumour

Spoiler:

Garrosh gets his karma account balanced at the end of the expansion, with an invasion of Org to kick him out. I'm betting they're going to go for "A demon did it" with the orcs old ways, leading to the next expansion

Soft voice, big stick, sharper dagger?

Wow, the Panda starting area is cool but a total clusterfrag at volume. The third or fourth quest step you do has you clicking on one tiny thing on one tiny statue. Guess what happens when 50-100 people are trying to do it at the same time?

EDIT: After playing with the panda model for a while, it's confirmed. Going to panda-fy my priest after the expo drops. Such a cool character model.
