Penguincon 2011: It was Fedorable

Where is the "Like" button?

$1,400? Nice job, guys.

Thread for minpencon12 is up if anyone is interested. I'll have a firm date for it very soon.

PenguinCon 2011 Attendees - Make your voices heard!

We've put together some surveys for you to fill out. All of the questions are very easy to answer, and unless you've got a LOT to say, the majority of the survey should take about two minutes to complete.

There are two surveys because Survey Monkey limits surveys for free accounts to ten questions. So please, complete the general PenguinCon survey and then complete the PenguinCon Presentation survey.

*4. Did you enjoy the PenguinCon Iron Mannes Challenge meta-game (teams), and would you like to see this again at PenguinCon 2012?

I don't think I even really participated in this so... what do I enter? It's a required question.

UPDATE - I just took a wild swing at an answer...

Here I was hoping the 2012 con was announced.

Umm... Well... We don't have details or anything yet? But consider it in the planning stages.

You participated, everyone did whether they knew it or not. You earned points for your team (your team was the color of the dot on your name tag). If you didn't know about it, I guess we didn't do enough to explain it. It may have just been referred to as the "meta game" during PenCon.

I kinda knew about it but since I didn't bring a PC or participate in a fighting game I figured it didn't matter. I hope I didn't hinder my team for getting into a 6+ hour Arkham Horror match. That's where I was kind of wondering if I actually did anything viable I guess since I was enamored with dice and little fiddly cardboard bits.

The last thing we want is for the meta game to make you think you can't do what you want. It was designed to encourage participation and foster some competition. It was not meant to be a ball and chain. Everyone can play what they like, although perhaps next year we will be a little more free with the extra points given out by staff, especially when people get involved in hours-long board games.

Spoiler:

Well. It's not a big secret. Expect an announcement following minpencon and expect it to be in October :)

I actually think we got points for our Arkham win. The denizens of the unknowable, decadent beyond shall not now mercy from the likes of the Pencon goers who totally created a fire hazard in that hallway!

That game lasted for like... 8 hours. I had to give them points.

I still do not understand why my team did not get points for A) my wearing a robe all weekend and B) having the drunkest team the whole weekend!

+2 to blue for double post.

You have waived your right to hand out points ;p

Not that there's a date for it yet, but there are plans to do another home brewing contest again this year. When we get closer to the date, we'll announce some more formal rules but brewers, get your brews on.

Note my mead will not be making another appearance, unless I decide to open a bottle early in the bottle aging process.

Everyone, the mead category is canceled =(
